Edited by: Solid Prefekt on 25/09/2008 16:47:05 In almost every thread that talks about Caps in the Ship forum the Minmatar caps are almost unanimously considered the worst. They are the joke of cap threads. I can list all the reasons, but they have already been made countless times. Usually when something is clearly the worst CCP makes changes, yet they are completely ignoring this one. Is there something that CCP knows about Minmatar Caps that the Eve players do not that make the ships as good as the other races? Or is it that they want the Minmatar caps to be the worst because the Matar are supposed to be the least advanced or supposed to have better smaller ships? I really like to know what CCP is thinking on this.
And the reason I bring this up is because I am at the point where I need to choose which Cap to start training for. Right now I have been training all the race independent cap skills. I do prefer Minmatar as that is what I mostly fly for smaller ships, but I can pretty easily go with another race without losing too much training time. Especially considering that the Matar dread already has a lot longer training time (compared to others) because of the dual weapon configuration.

Heh, actually from what I've seen people ***** about the Caldari dread more. It has four seige launchers that are highly vulnerable to smartbombs - tales abound of people doing 0 dps because their missiles are getting eaten by smarties.
The minnie dread has a longer skill training time because you need arty and missiles skills. Because it uses missiles it's also prone to having them soaked by smartbombs. There are numerous proposals from players to give the Minmatar dread 3/3 weapon slots so that it can specialise.
Personally I'm aiming for the Moros because it gets quite amazing bonuses to drone damage, and I have massive amounts of SP in drones already.

Actually the Minmatar Dreadnought is at least 150% more vertical than ANY of the other dreads.
It's almost overpowered, frankly. |

my advice is pick the dread that you feel suits your tastes best.
if you want a giant armoured lazer spewing monster go the rev. if you want a drone swarming gun toating bee hive go the moros. if you like shooting missiles and hiding behind shields go the pheonix. if you like sitting freaking vertical go the nag.
looks and feel is what you should pick your ship on.
CCP please look at mining agent mining mission %..... I want better than 60% mining missions from a mining agent =( |

The Revelation is the best dread by far for real capital fights. If you just want to sit on a low-sec station without going into siege and shoot people, the moros works well. I'd go Amarr for caps.
TBH, the best dread to train for is none. Max out your BS skills, learn how to fit and fly well, get a pirate implant set, and go pwn people.
