You forgot to mention that you guys lost 68 battleships....
Battleships are fodder, no one cares. Take it this fight was over a moon? Any info on what the build up to this was?
funny then how some entities have folded just from a couple bs fleets getting DD......
they may not be equivalent to dread losses however they still matter.
Not really. I lose only about 10 mil on a fully t2 fitted sniper bs loss(mega).
For most people this number won't be more than 30mil. You can lose 20 bs for each carrier kill and still come out ahead.
I believe I specifically mentioned they werent even close to a capital loss, all I was saying was they are not irrelevant. if the pilot has 10-15 more fitted and ready to go in the station that is one thing. If the pilot can not aquire what he needs to fit out his bs where he is and has to do empire runs to equip ships, that is lost time refitting everything.
Not all alliances have multiple logistics titans moving stuff around.
also you didnt count rigs in your financial estimates (unless you only fit sniper bs with really cheap rigs or something) however as the foundation guys said they try and cover pilots rig prices.

I was sitting cloaked watching some of this fight and also tried to take out people on both sides in my Pilgrim..
RA took control over the fight from the beginning but as it was in FDN`s home system they could only watch people come back in new carriers and battleships non stop as the hours went..
As the last hour of the fight was going towards the end RA could not keep up with the losses the same way FDN could..
Something that should be mentioned too is that FDN also had capitals sitting right outside the force field behind the support fleet..During the fight i attacked 2 of em before RA attacked me and when the Chimeras went into armor they flew into the force field again..
This fight was won by FDN due to good tactical placement of the capitals, good fighting morale by the guys that came back and their insane amount of remote repping..
I dont say this often about FDN but today they gave a hell of a good fight vs RA..

Cheers. I see you ninja'd onto four kills on them and two on us, so we'll take that as a vote of confidence
We won the fight (more caps killed, 18-10 on dreads, held the field, etc.) but credit to RA too - they fought tooth and nail and absolutely to the bitter end.
There have been a few nice fights lately, though I think with 50 capital ships killed this makes it the biggest fight that Great Wildlands has seen thus far.
With lag being the hot topic at the moment, I'll weigh in with my 2 cents on that one. Certainly there was lag but it was not unplayable. I think accepting lag as the uncertainty principle of the Eve universe is part of the anticipation of a fleet battle. Granted, that's little consolation if you can't log back in. Yet, in much the way that seeing low fps on top end hardware in a first person shooter game often creates the 'illusion' of looking at a more powerful game engine, in the same way sitting with 400 people on an Eve grid gives the impression of being on the cutting edge of MMOs, with the hardware of the day creaking under the weight of the event.
And while that's not an ideal situation, it's still better than anything any other MMO can bring.
As I said in a different thread, I do look forward to the future when medium-sized gang tactics can be elevated to full size fleet combat without lag being a necessary factor in planning. But right now it is - and we just have to accept it in the same way as bad weather, Russian winters and mechanical failure.
From my perspective: my dread was perfectly flyable. My carrier alt couldn't reconnect to the game at one point for some 20-30 minutes but during that time it was possible to fight with a BS alt.
Finally, someone asked about the moon that this fight was on. No Dysp subplot powering this story, I'm afraid. The moon is probably made of cheese. This fight was just about having an epic scrap (we live in GW and we try and be good hosts).

So someone managed to kill a few crippled horses...
RA has been near dead for a while now so nothing really impressing, all their decent pilots allready left.

Well I don't pretend to know the internal working of RA but R.u.S.H. is still in charge, they have 1500 members again. In my humble opinion they will remain a force in Eve for a long time to come - and by the way, nothing we do to them in GW will change that, that's not the point of this thread, this is a 'good fight' after-battle thread.

Indeed it has. I remember when I first started playing in 2005, one of the first threads I found on the forums was one proclaiming RA dead. That was when a 10 000 pilot coalition (-V-, LV, KOS etc etc etc, I actually did the math once, and ended up well in excess of 10 000 pilots in the anti-RA coalition) was attacking a RA that shrunk to 800.
RA was dead then, too.
Guess RA just never got the memo...
Or worse still, we're fighting space-zombies!

Guys lag isn't measured in fps. You can have a crappy computer and have 10 fps sitting alone in space.
