Nice work! I like the skills browser, kind of like in-EVE on the go. The link has been added to Tools and Resources at Macs in EVE. ---------------------------------------

It looks good. A few suggestions:
1) A progress bar to go along with the countdown.
2) Clicking on the character's skill (say Drones) opens up a page with the skill info and the estimated training times to the remaining levels (like EVETracker).
3) For jerks like me without an second account, it would be nice to set a default character to open to when the application starts. Maybe an option in the Character's screen to allow this or the standard pick list on open.
Other than these things, it looks on-par with EVETracker - which is meant as a compliment. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the suggestions - I certainly don't disagree with any of them, just don't want to add (too much) extra clutter to things, so I'll bear them in mind for when I'm next near that bit of the code.
On point 3, in theory, the app should remember where you were when you last exited - I'll ponder making that stickyness more explicit!

Installed and tried this - importing from a contact doesn't work for me, i had to type the API keys in manually (ow).
Once that was done though, works great.

A bit belated as this got approved on the App Store whilst I was at fanfest, but here're the release notes for version 1.1.0:
Quote: Fixed in version 1.1.0: - More robust account entry & import.
New in version 1.1.0: - Skill training progress bar to go along with the countdown. - Time-to-level information for skills. - Corporation info & member tracking. - Asset listings for characters and corporations, including asset search. - POS status. - Item browser. - Options via the Settings app to tweak various display preferences. - Various stability fixes and enhancements.
As you may have noticed Strages Cruciatus, your suggestions made it
Version 1.1.1 with the QR data export and a few other tweaks is pending approval...

Oh, and one small request.
If this app doesn't work out for you, then please feel free to rate it one star if you think it deserves it. However, I'd ask that you either file a bug report or post here, saying what didn't work for you. That way you stop me wondering what particular flavour of 'didn't work' applied in any given case ;) |

Thanks a bunch for this app Harry. The new features have really brought it to a new level. It's wonderful to be able to check on the status of my pos and assets while away from game. Thank you for creating this application.
Now on to an issue that I've had. For some reason, even before this update, iClone doesn't seem to list my character attributes correctly. My skill completion countdown is correct, so it's really more of an aesthetic issue, but I wanted to let you know and wasn't sure how to file a bug report on the official site.
Cheers

It looks very good. I am so happy with iClone that I have removed the EvE Tracker app from my phone. I suppose that we'll see certificates someday, right?

Other than that, looks good, seems to have a bunch of features these other ones dont. Btw, ill leave a good review just to offset those bad ones people gave you... reviews like that make me wonder if they even played eve.

Thanks for the uh... thanks!
Any chance you could register at the support page and file a report (or e-mail support at iclone dot org dot uk) with details of learning skills/implants/base attributes (if you know them) and expected/seen attributes and I'll take a look - The 'works for me' school of testing didn't throw up any issues with my characters.
Please DO NOT send me API keys unless you *really* want to - whilst they'd be useful, I really don't want the tinfoil accusations to start flying given I'm fairly obviously a coding alt character. I wouldn't abuse them, but better just to not go there...

Thanks. I'll freely admit I'm embracing creeping featuritis whilst apps like Capsuleer are going for a more slick, polished look (Though I'm in the 'make it look like an iPhone app primarily' camp, and they're in the fully custom 'EVE EVE EVE' UI camp).
As for reviews, good feedback here is far more useful to the app's development and (hopeful) improvement IMO than star ratings on the itunes store - the lack of ability to respond to comments is a real killer.

edit. there doesnt seem to be a way to get to the more menu again once you go to accounts.e
Hitting the 'More' tab again should work. Will look at re-plumbing that bit of the UI to make it clearer.

edit2 for some reason, even after importing from contacts, my characters dont seem to show up??
Why are you saying you like the app again? I'll add some logging of API errors to the interface soon, along with some more explicit feedback as to whether an API key was accepted by CCP or not. This should help diagnose such errors.

Actually you can. You should be able to touch the station container and see the content. This works unless the container is repackaged. Unfortunately you can't see the name of the container, which would make it a bit easier to see which one to open, but that is simply not supplied with the API.

I asked for some features on the support page, one of them is "manual updating" so you don't have to wait for all the other tasks to be finished if you just want to see how long before you have to run to your pc to change a skill.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
There's a bugfix release pending, which makes things a little more stable, and gives more feedback on what the app's doing when the spinny thing is...spinning. Also a few UI tweaks on the character sheet and capital jump router. I say pending as it's in App Store approval at the moment, and they're being pickier than usual, and I'm away from my development Mac for xmas!
On that note, Happy Christmas and Happy New Year all!

Edited by: Shin Chogan on 30/12/2008 11:55:31 Just tried this after using Capsuleer and Eve Tracker for a while. I love the extra features but it definitely needs a better update method to allow for quick checking of where your skill training is. If you are only using GPRS/Edge then the update is terminally slow especially if you have more than 1 account. Waiting for this to complete makes it all but unusable for this purpose so I still have to use Capsuleer.
You should also cache the asset data so the you can look at it before the update is complete in the same way you can with a characters skills.
