Edited by: Not1k on 29/09/2008 09:03:39 Edited by: Not1k on 29/09/2008 09:02:30 Hey,
Im doing lvl 4s currently in amarr space, specifically for ministry of internal order. I found out that raven does them as fast as my apoc though i have 4.5m in gunnery compared to 700k in missiles and ratio for tanking is more or less the same. And I can imagine it will do them even faster when i train caldari bs and some missile support skills. Yes i have caldari bs lvl 2 :] I can probably fly paladin in 2 months and abit. Worth it? So i started flying raven and so far i can do all missions if i dont trigger all room. What I was wondering if its worth moving to other faction with raven for faster/more efficient missioning? I was thinking matar as caldari must be damn crowded
thanks for comments suggestions.

You might try Matari missions if your faction standings aren't too low. Angels should be well suited to Explosive missiles and the Raven's shield strengths.
You'll have to hang out in Minmatar space, which can be very crowded in some areas. |

Are you fitting medium lasers to your apoc?
Seriously my CEO doesn't even have T2 lasers on his Abaddon and he fries Sansha's so fast you barely have time to say "wtf". But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

That's true enough, assuming you get Sansha that often. Remember we have alot of missions that isn't that tho. I'm running lv4's for Amarr, would estimate about 50% of the missions would be quicker run with my Amarr pilot (bs5, t2 guns yada yada), but half of them is easier with Pew Pewk.
The tragic truth is she did about a third of the missions faster than he did, when she only had spent 2.5 weeks training to get a t1 fitted Raven, while he at that time had 2.5year+ in Amarr.
Also remember there's a heap of missions where no matter how good my lasers would melt them down, the reality is my Hammerheads was eating bs faster than I did purely because of tracking disruptors. Raven doesn't have that issue.
Makes perfect sense to run Raven in Amarr missions, and with a bit more than 2.5 weeks training (bit more of everything, buffer, cap, dps) there's only only mission you skip; Worlds Collide. Overall (time/effiency over many missions) a low-skilled Raven matches any Amarr missionrunner, no matter how good skills the Amarr-pilot has.

Nightmare !
You already got the Shield skills, and also both races BS skills and gunnery. Not have the long training time a Pally will have.
The Nightmare will just eat it's way through Sansha's, Blood Raiders and Enemies Abound.
Sucks on Angels to be sure but seriously out performs the CNR on the whole in Amarr space. |

So yeah, I've been flying raven for the past week or so and what ive noticed that even t2 fitted my tank doesnt hold that well. Thus killing is fast, but im forced to do warp outs from time to time. I know my skills are not up to par and raven has em/therm holes which makes it harder to tank it. So im kinda lost there. And nightmare is out of question meanwhile, as im really broke. Maybe CNR which is less than half the price of nightmare? Heck, maybe i should just go and do exploration in low sec?

Why even consider flying a ship like the nightmare with such low skills... 4.5 mil sp in gunnery is really very, very low.. Don't fly a ship you can basically sit in but nothing else... |

Raven is the best missioning ship imo (Golem is of course but I mean as a hull) as the tank on them is great and you can change damage type of missiles to hit all types of NPC's for maximum efficiency and therefore best DPS = isk/hour. Although I am a Caaldari character I fly all other races in PvP as caldari ships just can;t cut it in most occasions and I understand that. I also understand that the Raven is the best missioning ship type to fly.

After training for, and outfitting both the Typhoon and Maelstrom, I did some level IV's and did alright, just took awhile.
Rather than spend the next 23 days training Heavy Drones to V, I spent 14 days training Caldari to BS IV.
My CNR does the missions in 60% of the time, and I don't have to kite missions, nor fly around worrying about transversal speed (for the arty).
I was reticent in moving to Caldari BS, but you can't read the forums without hearing about how good Raven/CNR is for missions. The results speak for themselves.

I fly a CNR in Amarr space and find the Sansha much easy targets than Mercs or Guristas. Flying a missile boat against Sansha has the benefit of being immune to their tracking disruptors.

I don't know what kind of strange agents you people run, but I have been running Amarr missions on and off for almost three years now and evry agent I had has given me at least 70% of my missions against enemies perfectly suited for being pwned by lasers. That is Sansha, Blood, Drones, Mercs and EoM. So if you could only pick one ship, you would do best with a laser boat. These days I am running with Paladin, Golem and Kronos for best results, and I definitely do a lot more missions in the Paladin than the other two combined. Though I DO decline every silly Guristas mission I get since I have more than enough faction standing to be able to decline any time and not just once every four hours. And if you are reading this, you have arrived at the signature without noticing...

Not wishing to jump to conclusions but you never flown a Nightmare have you ?
Takes a bit of investment but nothing more than lp store stuff and if getting a faction BS it deserves factoin fitting's.
Got just over 1.2 mil in gunnery and regulary get 10-13 mil bounties in 20 mins , recon pt 1 and blockade killed and be in a salvager within the 20 mins, all sansha's in wc killed in 20 mins, not bad being able to just sit in but nothing else is it.

I also fly a cnr in amarr missions and it realy rocks. You don't worry about td you can deal pure em dmg put in some money maybe fit torps insted of cruises and you will melt snasha as quick as a nightmare (maybe not but pretty close). Besides there are not a lot of guristas missions in amarr space (god i hate their jamming). ================================================ "No plan has ever survived the contact with the enemy" von Moltke |
