I was playing around and found out I could hit about 3.1mil effective HP with one running stable cap wise though with only a tank of about 540 dps sustained, 15 drones = 1500 dps occording to EFT.
also how in gods name do you bring down a ship with that much Ehp?

3 or 4 sieged dreads would do it reasonably quickly, you would be surprised!!!!!

just played around with EFT again O_o
I had no idea what dreads could do!!! anyways a gank fit dread, i got to 41,852 dps (433,000+ volley) with about 1.5mil Ehp. (cap stable and all)
hahhahah silly numbers.. lmao makes BS seem worthless lol.

your mids and lows are fine - I set it up differently, but you have a legitimate setup. Your highs need to have 2 RR, 1/2 neut, 1/2 smarty. And CCC rigs.
Carriers are logistic ships, the EFT calculations are theoretical - in reality, your doing pathetic damage and delayed damage (easily killed, 20 mil a pop damage). |

lol with the 10.5 shooting times, 4 dreads could end a carrier in like 21 secounds lmao <.< even if it had 3.1mil EHP.
Good for everyone that your so wrong...
A dread does about 2-3500dps and not 41.000dps...

Carriers actually go down shockingly easily without support. While their local tanks are powerful, 3 - 4 battleships overpower it, meaning if the carrier can't get support or jump it's going to die eventually. Even a small rr gang of carriers can be overcome by 20 or so battleships, assuming there is a steady supply of neuting going on.
So, while carriers are fantastic damage sponges, if you want to do anything other than die slowly and horribly once your fighters get shot down (yes you still have hundreds of other drones but if they can kill your fighters in short order heavies and sentries certainly aren't going to fair well) you need to be in a gang. Properly supported a group of carriers (or, god forbid, motherships) are damn near unkillable.
Also, to the fairly absurd numbers people throw out there from EFT, just remember - you can only actually run ONE seige module. A realistic DPS figure is in the low to mid thousand when seiged and well under 1k without seige (except the Moros of course). Dreds tend to have the strongest local tanks when seiged but once they click that button they're stuck in the fight for 10 minutes and can only effectively engage stations and capital ships (and the capital ship had better not move much). Even the staggering thank of the phoenix will buckle quickly under the fire of a dozen battleships. |
