Can we has in the next expansion or sooner pretty plz CCP?
It would help reduce fleet lag due to only one client sending a move order instead of the whole fleets clients at once and greatly reduce an FC's annoyance factor when half the fleet is still aligning after he hits 'warp gang to' cause they were slacking.. |

BIGTIME anti-signed.
I don't even like gang warp.
If people can't have enough of the VERY tiny amount of discipline required to control their own characters, they deserve to lose ships tbh.
What's next, gang leaders controlling their guns, ship speeds...

Why not go the whole hog and let the FC press f1-f8 for us too then we can go make a nice cup of tea and come back later to see who won. Making the game less interactive and easier for slackers isn't a move in the right direction. |

My first thought was that it could be handy until i read the replies. They are absolutely right. Any person in a group that can't align properly deserves to die for it. It is one of those times when EVE is better off not holding your hand. |

I can see how aligning may not be a good idea because of people who can't align correctly when said to. But PLEASE don't take away whole fleet warping. That feature is what makes eve a fun game. Watching a gigantic fleet warp in all at the same time is a beautiful sight! __________________ The above post has decreased your IQ by 10%. |

I have to agree with the others... A no to the gang align function.
I would much rather have the option to have my BM's added to the Overview, or to have an "Align to" function for my BM's also, over something like this. |

Having everyone in your gang warp simultaneously is what makes them arrive simultaneously.

Agreed but what does that have to do with a gang align? Other than the 'makes eve too easy' argument what other reasons would there be to not have it that are gameplay mechanic and balance related?

I mentioned that very thing in my post. You even quoted it.
I will maintain my opinion that if there were another clean way to get ships to their destinations at the same time, I'd be happy with it. More discussion about this could risk derailing your thread.
Quote: Agreed but what does that have to do with a gang align?
Because a gang align gives an opportunity for communication and discipline to be lax without repercussion, hence negating some of the advantage that disciplined and organized players deserve.

Rehash of what I said above, really: gives the leader too much control over what his fleet does, thereby removing some need for discipline. Discipline/coordination is a pretty significant part of the metagame.
The way I see it, excellent discipline should not be neutralized by simplified game mechanics. Likewise, poor discipline should be punished by losses.
Going to seem like I'm just kissing ass here, but... there's a good reason that alliances like BoB and PL have accomplished what they have. Part of that is discipline. |

I wouldn't mind seeing gang warp removed actually. I've always thought fleets look more impressive when they warp in at nearly the same time rather than actually at the same time. -

I've been in a fleet where I had to make sure I DID NOT warp off with the rest of the fleet, so not being able to stay unaligned would be a bad thing. |

Not normalizing warpspeed across the whole gang would certainly increase the demand on playerskill if you don't want to get slaughtered. |

Good point.
Would make for the introduction of some interesting tactics.
