Okay, so, I'm like... poor... and stuff. So, really, I don't like to like... pay for things... ever... but especially, like, when I haven't had a week or two to play with it first, y'know?
So, like... that pirate game looked really cool when it came out, and I wanted to like... pretend I was Captain Jack Sparrow and so forth and like, order me mateys about and such. But there was no free trial then, so, I didn't pretend I was Captain Jack Sparrow. I just continued pretending to be a pale, grease-stained-shirt-wearing, somewhat mutated (look I has horns!!!!) spaceship man.
And don't get me wrong, like, it's been fun and stuff... but now that pirate game has a 14-day free trial and stuff and like... I could go pretend to be Captain Jack Sparrow for a couple of weeks and see if it's okay and all, but like... downloading trial thingies and making characters and all that sort of thing is so :effort: so I wanted to like...
Ask you guys: is it cool? Like, would I like it at all? Is it worth all that work?

It's not really any good. It lacks imagination and vision. The DEVS hyped the game in a Funcomian (new word?) way while not at all keeping their promises. Servers are being merged to try and maintain a decent server population. Granted, there's a lot of people whining about the PVP aspect but from what I've seen to far from EVE, PoTBS doesn't even come CLOSE to it.

The game was quite boring; I was immensely disappointed... which is how I've felt with almost every game launch in the last two years.
Maybe I'm just jaded.

I'm a few hours into this trial thing... control is similar to WoW, though it lacks the ability (or need, it seems) to jump. Also lacks the ability to swim... but with the quality-looking clothing I customized for myself at chargen, I wouldn't want it getting too wet anyway. Spent a lot of time on their forum while everything was DL'ing and Patching and it seems they launched with too many servers and to date haven't had enough publicity/advertising (remind you of any other MMO? *coughEVEcough*) but apparently they've been working on that lately... including the new free trials!
Over the next couple of weeks, I'll probably post a few times about it on my blog if any other EVE players are interested in the game but afraid to go through all the effort - just click the sig.
Before anyone asks, no my blog is not written in the same style as my OP in this thread.
From what I've seen so far, I don't think I'll be leaving EVE for PotBS, but since I was interested in it when it launched but refuse to pay full price for an MMO I haven't had an opportunity to test drive, I decided back then to wait until free trials opened so, here I am
