Edited by: Kair Baird on 30/09/2008 15:13:59 If you notice in the Patch Notes CCP has totally bypassed Jita. What they intend to do is (come sunday, 5pm GMT)cut all the links to and from Jita, thus trapping all the weekend worriers. They'll then transport Jita to a safe site(WoW) where it can be safely disposed off.
Why are you in my pod?, GTFO!

The deployment of StacklessIO has alleviated many of the problems connected with Jita. We certainly do not intend to rest on our laurels and will continue developing StacklessIO and EVE 64bit to provide the best possible gaming experience to all of our players. |

Im glad their doing the bypass routes around Jita. Coupled up with stackless python and infiniband we should see some major improvements to game reliability and spell the end of lagfest Jita! Although remapping the stargate system near jita so it doesnt border 3 regions would be another good step to make players spread the market about more.

Could... could we do the OP's plan anyway? Jita IS the Devil after all.

...yes Jita is the devil.
Navigator: Can't we have one ingame event with that twice-cursed system instead? That way you developers wont have to spend resources on that piece of smut system when we have so many other issues that scream blue murder in our face anytime we log on?
So yes I agree with the OT, but instead lets make it one ingame event storyline to follow.
*The Jovians have finally had enough from the inane chatter coming trough the interstellar communication network and launch a dual attack first with nanobots that disable the gates temporarily. Then they open a gate of their own only to spew out neutron missiles at all targets in Jita.
Now the gates reopen, and greed and the survivors will make sure the chaos brings it all to a complete end. They send in haulers to pick up all the objects that floats around the destroyed spacestations. Since Concord and the Caldari police forces were destroyed in the neutron missile attack, the pirates moves in either to steal or to get even to the spreadsheet players who have pestered the game for all too long, their attack adding to the carnage.
So CCP would not even have to be blamed. You just start one ingame event and then the built up agressions against the scammers, spreadsheet players and plain greed will take care of the rest.* Hurray, hurray hurray ....er what, you say that you wont let this idea happen?
