I screwed up this missoin (enemies abound 1 of 5 ) and thought i could farm it, but after DT the mission disapeared... now its just empty space. I need ten units of Port Rolette Residents to take to my agent... damn the minerals in this mission were good though... and help appreciated

Petition to have the mission reset. If you accidentally trigger the "mission completed" (Journal blinks, etc), the mission deadspace despawns at next downtime.
Usually blowing up the last BS or the ship that drops said loot.
GM reset a mission like this for me within 2 minutes (changed to "Not Accepted" in journal)

resubmit another petition. The two times this has happened to me they've reset the mission and told me to have a nice day.

Can't see why this would work tbh, try it and good luck but fact would be you purposly left the mission item in the mission area after you completed it.
A lot of missions where an item needs to be collected get the completion message at the killing of all rats or a certain rat, if you not pick up item and left it go past DT then can't see why any reason it should get re-set.
I would personaly just turn it in, take the standing hit and get back to missioning.
