'lo everybody,
I want to have 2 icons on my machine, one for each of my accounts - does anybody know the suffix I need to add to the target in my icon please?
I'd also like to set a different resolution to each icon
i.e. "L:\games\eve\eve.exe -chr=xxx -height=1024 -width=1280"
Grateful for any pointers on this
cheers

ok, ill tell you how to do this..
first, tell me your username (in game) then i can run it through the hex editor to figure out what prefix to use.
Secondly, send me your password (out of game - you dont want to give the same person both ur details!!!11!1!) and ill try to help.
any usurping of your goods will be mere coincidence and you should get in touch with stuff.

Edited by: Kuranta on 02/10/2008 12:25:11 In order to have an icon for each account do the following:
copy the complete eve folder to a different loacation (preferably another drive / partition). In the new eve folder, rightclick on the eve.exe-file and klick "send to desktop" (or copy and paste on desktop), rename icon (e.g. Eve II).
Now each icon will start a seperate instance of the client. Change clients to "windowed mode" (ESC-menue ingame). Programs like EveMon will reposition windowed clients to fit your screen. Makes alt-tabbing between clients easier.
Afaik you can set the client resolution to your liking (per client) in the ESC-menue as well.

This ^^
You can run one premium and one in classic, so i expect that you can change other graphics settings too.

Thanks for that - I'm trying not to replicate 1.5 gig of data if poss :-) and do it in an elegant manner - if the executable however does not have variables after it ( & I've tried ) , then I don't think there is any option other than to be clumsy & copy the whole lot
Any CCP programmers available to comment?

You can easily run any number of accounts from the same installation, they'll each have their own overviews etc., although they will share graphical settings and client language.

Yes and no Atropos
You can, of course, use two separate clients, even on the same machine. They get their own settings folder each, which then allows you to have like, one account for your main, semi fullscreen thanks to evemover on monitor two, and a second account with an alt on your primary monitor, windowed, and with a smaller resolution. This just involves copying over the tq installation, and creating a shortcut. That's it.

I could sort of imagine that's because it'd make it easier for macros, Atropos?
