I was bored and ran all the skills through evemon, this is what it said Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. I figured it wouldn't be longer then 3 years, so I was shocked. Any way just checking on your thoughts. Is this Eve's version of the unkillable final boss. Unfortunately MMORPG's haven't been around long enough to see if any game can keep itself popular for over 20 years. |

A tasty set of +7's should reduce that down to maybe... 16-17 years? |

I thought +7 implants were a myth. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

According to evemon they exist and are the elite models. Says they cost around 3.2 mil.

Thats why I ask if they are a myth or not. You find them in evemon (IE the database) but never in game. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

Does +7 implant require Cybernetics VII? Sounds reasonable :)

In early Eve +6/7 implants were available. They were removed and haven't been available since. Perhaps they are still in the item db since some players still wear them(who knows) Whatever the case they are nowhere's to be had so its nothing but a fantasy at this stage.

Old news that it takes years to train all skills to V. Another interesting thing to note is that Skills are being added at a faster rate then it's physically possible to train them. So by the time you train all those skills you will have another 23+ years left to go. _______________

You also have to add in a fact that some skills don't even need to be trained passed level 1. __________________ RIP Toonami. 1997-2008. |

Skill-hack: type CTRL Q-U-I-C-K-S-I-S-Y-P-H-I-U-S and you will have all skills at level V. But only until you session-change. |

A much more pertinent training program would be "all skills to level 4" (of course, L5 prerequisites will be trained to L5).
P.S. You MIGHT want to use a characters with appropriate base attributes too (highest perception, then int, lowest cha), all L5 learning (except advanced charisma which should be left at L4) and set of +5 implants (so Cybernetics 5 is a must too).

actually really... significantly longer then that... in the 20+ years it takes... they will likely drop and create countless new skills. Which all have to be started from scratch. Which just adds on to the even longer training. |

I created a "small" training schedule for myself (a year old character with 20m SP) which covers every conceivable facet of the game except Capital Ships. It also skips skills levels that do absolutely nothing, like Jury Rigging V.
4 years is the time it will take me. There are some high-end skills that I left out, but I guess they won't add more than another year to the queue.
Conclusion? A large portion of the skill tree is just unneeded fat. |
