I haven't tried this, but I'm curious if this would work. I thought about if you're solo in an Apoc and you get jumped by, say, a cruiser and a BS, or basically 1 BS (damage dealer) and several small warp scrambler ships. As I said, I haven't tested this, so it may be completely ridiculous, but would it allow you to 'get away' after being warp scrambled?
Apoc High: 5x Tachy 2's with either gamma L's, or related T2 crystal 1x 'arb' heavy missile launcher (damage) 1x 'arb' assualt missile launcher (defenders/frig killers) 1x 500W Infectios Power System Malfunction
Mid: 1x Quad LiF Fueled I Booster Rockets 1x Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor 1 2x X5 Prototype I Engine Enervators
Low: 1x Radar Backup Array 1x Large I-A Polarized Armor Regenerator 1x N-Type Explosive Hardener 1 1x N-Type Kinetic Hardener 1 1x N-Type Thermic Hardener 1 1x Voltaic Nanite Adaptive Membrane I 1x Type-D Power Core Mod: Cap Power Relay
Ideally, you wait until the frig/cruiser is near you, with your warp scrambled, and then lay all 3 propulsion jammers on them, dropping them to near stationary. Also, you add the energy neutralizer to quickly drop their cap to 0 - frigs = 1 hit, cruiser = 4 hits. Once hes unable to move, you lay in with your tacys. or, you run since without energy he shouldnt be scrambling you.
Does that make any sense, or is it just wishful thinking?

I don't understand why you are trying to do that with tacks. Mega pulse gets great range and tracks much better. At the same time is able to fit a nice tank and a neut in the highs with 7 mega pulse.

True. well, if you swap out the tachs for mega pulse 2's, it doesn't really change much besides how well you might shoot back. I'm wondering more if the other modules are decent enough to counter your standard 'warp scrambling' class ships: 'cepters, frigs, cruisers...
I agree though, pulses are probably better.

With a heavy neut you will insta-cap out a frig of any kind (well a few exceptions, but 2 cycles will do it). and allow you to warp once the scramble cycle ends.
And most cruisers will melt on the way to tackle you under mega pulse fire.

do you think the (rather poor) tank setup i posted is enough to withstand a BS pummeling for the 10-30 seconds you need to deal with the frig/cruiser?

Edited by: Annowyn on 03/10/2008 17:59:14 Should be.
However, again, if you drop to mega pulse it allows you to fit a tank that can take a hell off a beating. Check out this thread.

I am a long-time forum noob, so gonna have to cut and paste that.
Edit: Oops, that is a geddon thread. I think it will still give you a helping hand for fitting your apoc.

Edited by: Triest on 03/10/2008 17:59:20 More battleship fittings with highs wasted on missile launchers. What, exactly, are they doing for you? A single, unbonused assault launcher does 14 DPS, 100 every 7 seconds. A single, unbonused heavy launcher does 22 DPS, 200 every 9 seconds. Meanwhile, a single megapulse II does 50 DPS, so in exchange for a pathetic amount of missile damage, you've lost 100.
If you want to solo in an apoc, fit pulses, a cap booster/MWD/web/point in the mids, and an armor tank with trimarks for more HP. The pulses will hit cruisers at long range, and at close range if you web them. Frigates you can kill with drones, web, or ignore. The main limiting factor is CPU, but you can get reasonable fittings that work. The Armageddon is generally better for solo work, however.

If I were going solo, I'd swap the drones to 5x medium ECM, 5x Warrior II.
