To start off, a little bit of basic details. When this call went up, I was in TVN-FM, 7 jumps from the target system, 11 minutes before downtime.
Call goes up in Alliance chat. "MOROS TACKLED IN XXX SYSTEM! GET HERE NOW! BRING A CYNO!"
Immediately, I set destination and begin the journey to the target system. There are only 4 hacs shooting this dread, who by this point has logged off and is pinned down.
"GET HERE QUICKLY! WE NEED MOAR DPS TO KILL EET!!"
As I travel I notice other pilots taking the same route as me, all speeding to try and kill this dreadnought before downtime.
"I'm 5 jumps out of destination with about 4 other people." "Moros is at 70% armor, no hardeners on, taking heavy damage."
2 minutes later...
3 jumps out of destination
"Moros at 40% armor, quick! We have to kill him before downtime! 3 mins 45 seconds left!"
1 jump out of destination, on the gate into dest system
"Moros is in structure, no damage control on!"
Entering warp to target
"Moros deep into structure"
Warp bubble collapses, grid loads.
Locking target...3.....2.....1...LOCK--- BOOM.
Moros dies about 0.0000000001 seconds before I get a lock and modules activate.
This, good people of New Eden, is quite possibly the BEST way to make a pilot want to eject from his pod and freeze/suffocate to death in the deep realm of space.
The other EPIC part of this story is that said moros had no fittings in his highs, mids and had 7 cargo expanders in his lows. He died in about 7 minutes to 3 hacs and 2 recons.

Edited by: Chirinako on 04/10/2008 11:20:25 YES EPIC. How could circumstances possibly conspire to make CCP let that dread die less than 1/4 of a second before I lock it after I've travelled 7 jumps to killmail ***** it? That's an absolute disgrace! CCP, I demand a full refund.

Judging by the title and the first like 90% of the OP's post, I was expecting this thread to be about a careless Dread pilot who didn't think he'd be killed before downtime so he logged. Then, once he signed back on to find his pod warping back to where he logged from he decided to write a hate-filled message to TRI which contained not only threats against the IRL well-being of the people on the killmail, but also references to bizarre sexual acts of limited or no relevance to the events that led to the Dread's destruction. He of course would then follow this message up with a second, more emo-rageified message that announced he was quitting Eve forever due to his ship being killed, and that he would devote his days to hunting down and destroying everything that Triumverate members hold dear. Strangely, he specified with that last bit that he was referring to things they held dear in-game, not IRL as might have been suspected. While this message is certainly at odds with his previous threats against TRI members' actual out-of-game lives, he offers no explanation for this discrepancy.
But that's not what the thread was about, and so I'm disappointed tbh.
