No we don't.
Quote: The setting was perfect as the people of Germany were primed and ready for any leader that would tickle their ears with what they were wanting to hear. World War I was over (#4) and the people of Germany were in an economic depression that crippled the country. The German mark had lost so much value that it took a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread.
We could all do without a recession like that.

The reason why Iceland is getting hit a bit harder than other countries is our banks have grown way too big. In comparison, the $700bill the US government is pumping out to the economy is about 5% of the yearly US revenue. Yearly revenue of the Icelandic banks is twelve times the yearly revenue of the country. So there is no way the Icelandic government can help all of them.
Personally, I have enough savings and very small dept compared to many, so Ill be fine

Iceland always had somewhat crazy exchange rates for ISK, feel sorry for the locals if beer soon costs same as a EVE shuttle tho. Anyway, im coming to fanfest, loaded with foregin kroner to exchange to the icelandic version. PS: if the message to the icelandic people from your prime minister about icelandic economy could go bankrupt actually happen, sell the beer for dollar.

Isk has fallen to 210isk/ú from 150isk/ú.
I have bought some today and will watch the rate movements over the next few days to get the rest- the Russians have lent Iceland Ç4bn to help out so the currency might start to stabilise... I see it went down as low as 230isk/ú but travel rates have not been as good yet.

That's a good question. Google Finance is being rather schizophrenic; earlier today it had the ISK at 400+ ISK to the Euro, now it's at 150 ISK to the Euro. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

Even if CCP runs on currency other than (real)ISK there is something else that could cause problems:
The UK governmant is talking seriously about freezing the assets of Icelandic companies in the UK. This is due to UK local govt. investors having nearly ú1Bn in Icelandic banks that it looks like they might lose.
Relations between the UK and iceland are souring rapidly, and given how poor they have got in the past I would not be surprised if the UK government took a pretty belligerent position on this issue. The icelandic gov has already blamed the UK for the most recent bank collapse and the UK is taking legal action against iceland to recover assets.
Given that the servers are based in london I can only hope that the electricity bill has been paid in advance!

But no worries, CCP has weathered worse and has no intentions of falling short this time around.
Really hope I can say the same thing about Iceland (Yes, i live here.)
It has, on several occasions in fact. Only in the last 10 years or so has Iceland been in as good a financial health that everyone could get cash to do what ever they dreamed. Too bad it was all built on fancy words and statistics. The 1000 years before that have been a constant struggle tbh.
