This is a pretty simple idea, but one that I hope will reduce frustration and annoyance amongst a fair few players.
At the moment I happen to be implant shopping for my alt, or at least looking through things to try and work out what I should get him to best serve his raven based mission whoring. Naturally I decided on low grade crystals for 1-5 , then it all got WAY too complex...
Put very simply, there are hundreds of skill hardwiring implants, many of which have names that in no way reflect there function and a fairly non-consistant serial number system, which also tends not to reflect what an implant does.
So im suggesting that CCP adopt one of the following:
1. Put hardwires into catergories like rigs are put into.Although you still have to go through a big list to find what you want, you are at least in the right area.
2. Adopt a bland but effective naming system... 'Zainou ZMT500 Torpedo Damage Hardwire'. Even if you don't know the name, you know the implants out and you can easily search for it in the market.
3. Anything else you care to suggest ?
I know its a REALLY minor complaint but there is a massive amount of hardwires and everytime i go to buy one i end up clicking on every single one until i find what im looking for, which considering how easy it would be to fix, is just a bit 'sub-optimal'

i think it is a very significant and good point. i second this suggestion. i would also like to add that searching within item descriptions would be a big help here. ---- You don't have to like it - I don't blame you for not liking it. |

A easier to understand system would be a great help.
EDIT: I also think that it should not be limited to slots either, and the ability to use any hardwire in any of the last 5 slots.
EDIT 2: Of course you only can fit 1 of each type (+1% or +3% or +5%, but never all at the same time). _________________________

Well its nice to know im not the only one :)
On the slots issue, I'm not sure if i totally agree that we should be allowed free use of all 5 hardwire slots, just because of some potential balance issues with being able to use, for example being able to use a slave omega and a ZET1000 for huge amounts of armor and nitrofueled reppers. Not a huge problem really, but you get what I mean, certain combinations would be way more powerful.
Still, the whole system could do with a look at.
Is there anything to be said for grouping some hardwires together in the same was as the pirate implants, so you don't get the good effects unless you have a whole set ?

I think it would be nice if the empires developed implant sets, though not sure what it would go towards. As for the slots, definitely keep them, as that is how they are balanced. I would like to see the naming updated to include a description.
Not any use in game, but in the database, the implants are not grouped by slot, but instead they are grouped by skill category. They are in categories such as Cyber Learning (which is the Attribute implants), Cyber Gunnery and so on.
