Does anyone actually use this module, or is it as useless as I think it is? It, at first glance, appears to have a nice, high jam strength until you realize a few things:
- It doesn't get bonuses from most skills
- It doesn't get bonuses from most ships
- It costs TONS of cap
- It has a 30s cycle
- IT DOESN'T ACTUALLY JAM ANYTHING
- It doesn't work on the one thing it'd be super-usefull against (drones), since they just insta-relock.
- It affects your own fleet members up to 18km away give or take.
This module is just HORRIBLE. Was thinking of putting this up as an issue on the Assembly Hall forum, but figured I'd look for some consensus here, first.

Edited by: Aluka 7th on 05/10/2008 19:08:54 It brakes lock on all tacklers.. Good in combination with sens dampeners, or on sens damp recon, or industrial.
It gets all bonuses from EWAR related skills. It didn't 1yr ago but it was repaired so now it has cap reduction, ECM strenght, optimal and fall-off moded.
With max skills - 'cetus': Strenght 9 to all sensor types (jamms all frigs for sure.) Optimal 9km, fall-off 9km. Cap usage 144.
P.S. Can't confirm does it get bonuses from caldari ships. Also its not good vs drones.

Was nto aware they fixed the skills, but about 90% certain it still doesn't work with most of the ship bonuses as apparently it doesn't count as an "ECM Target Jammer" or whatever the exact wording it. Tested this a week or two ago and it did not seem to receive the ship's bonuses.
Hitting friendlies is bad, and hard to regulate with (apparently with skills) an 18-27km optimal+falloff. Also, the 30s cycle is HORRIBLY long and the cap usage is still very very high, especially if you're trying to fit it on a cruiser or industrial...forget about it on a frigate.
And again, best usage would be against drones, but useless in that regard.

Its as useful as warp-core stab. Not very good on PvP ship. For running away is nice, that's y 30sec shouldn't bother you. Just put this burst VS fast tacklers frigs (even most cruisers) and WCS against bigger things. And you have nice 0.0 blockade runner.
I did use it on bait apoc with damps and it was fun. But that was some time ago..

Considering how relativly rare moms are still, you may have problems getting this put forward. But for the most part I agree. It should be an anti-HIC/bubble mod - something like a burst that pushes ships and bubbles 27km away and give it room to gtfo.

Its also good vs jamming ships, if you can get close enough to hit them with an ECM burst your drones will agro without you poping your own drones with a smartbomb. -------------
