Hi, dont know if anyone else has this, or an idea of what to check next, but heres the issue and what I've tried.
I have T-Mobile Web and Walk + and use my phone as a modem. This should give me unlimited and unrestricted access to the internet via GPRS or G3 depending on area. I can connect to websites and the EVE API ok, but EveMon, and Eve both fail to conncet to the game server. EveMon shows the server as offline, whilst the Eve client gives a status of unknown. (If i connect via my LAN, everything works fine, so its not a machine config issue)
I can ping, and telnet to the server ip 87.237.38.200 on both port 26000 and 3724, and have tried both ports in the prefs.ini file, but neither works.
T-mobile tell me that no ports are blocked.
Anyone got any knowledge or ideas on this?
TIA

I sometimes use a web & walk T-mobile connection for Eve. Sometimes I get the same symptoms as you drescribe, but it's usually fine. Eve sometimes fails to connect (even tho web stuff works fine), When this happens it normally works after a power cycle of the modem. Simply disconnecting & re-connecting doesnt seem to cure it, but forcing the modem to re-register seems to fix it.

Thanks for that, its confirmed a few sketchy deatails i had. and tells me it is possible. Im using a Vario Touch Plus as the modem, via Internet sharing. I have power cycled the device, and its made no difference.
Im going to try on my XP laptop at home, as the one im currently using is vista. I'll also try my old Vario-I.

if it works when LAN connected but not via the T-Mobile then it will be t-mobile blocking the ports. -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve

Thats what i was originally thinking, but T-mobile have assured me on several occasions they are not, and i can telnet to the server ip and port without issue.
