Ok, im at a point right now in the game that i have touched about all areas of NPC grinding, Corporation related stuff and now PvP...
Im making kills, in gangs or solo and it seems now that its a waste of time and ISK. For me, PvP is a waste of money right now. If u count the lost of ships, ammunition and the fact you don't get any decent loot 80% of the time, why should i continue hunting for other reasons then fun ? (Starting to be less fun...)
In other MMOs, PvP has a kind of reward system that permits the players to improved/customize their characters even more, making PvP worth it.
I thought Faction Warfare would be that, but it is a total failure and waste of time imo...
So, a reward system for PvP in EVE, why not ?

It looks like its time for you to go to 0.0 tbh where the purpose of pvp is to defend your space or make our own space bigger. That or try a diffrent ship/play style. For me its all about the fun.

While I understand what your feeling, I'm not quite sure Eve is the kind of game that works for. Maybe you can elaborate what kinds of rewards someone might get for doing pvp?
I'm not entirely sure how the factional warfare stuff works, but if there was some sort of ranking system for kills / losses (in terms of title - outside of corp) would that be what you mean? Or an 'honor kill' system? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "Now, we must all fear evil men. Go and make your corp, offer rewards(modules, ISK, titles, shares, w/e). Nothing is stopping you... |

Edited by: Feilamya on 08/10/2008 22:45:57 There are rewards for PVP in 0.0.
The problem is, you are not one of those who get them.
Hint: Being on killmails is not the point...

Thats why you need to try pirating rather then the FW blobs. Piracy is all about the 'reward' side of PvP |

Just change Faction War so that everyone can join it, even if already in an alliance and give more rewards for killing enemies.

You know that the instant you get in-game rewards for killing players people will start to farm their alts right? -- I'm done whining about AFs, it looks like they are making them right \o/ |

Eve is not a PvP-centric game. What is PvP in Eve? Thats a lot of things to a lot of people. PvP can be very fun, but one thing is for certain: If you just want to run around a shoot people all day this is NOT the game for you.
On a different note, Pv in Eve harkens to real life much more then other games. Fights usually only occur when one side thinks they can easily defeat the other, or when one group is cornered with no escape (this usually results in a logoff). Who "wins" and who "loses" fights is very complicated and both sides generally incur some sort of tangible and long term loss.
Eve is not a "kill/die, rinse, repeat" game. That is not the intent of the developers and it never will be.

Eve is not World of Warcraft, and god willing, it will never become it either.

CCP Dionysus doesn't believe you should get rewards for pvp. He thinks pvp is its own reward.

The problem with PVP in eve is not the lack of reward but how difficult it is to actually get some quality pew pew.
Right now the only way to force station campers out of hiding is to siege a poss. The result is usually a capital/blob fest that I wouldn't call quality pew pew.
The game needs more attackable structures that must be defended if the owners are to reap their benefits.
On the rewards side, I wouldn't mind some reputation or character customization rewards but nothing that actually gives someone an advantage in the game.
Logistics deployables mean less grind and more pewpew! |
