Hi there folks, it's that time of year again. The Tribune, EVE's longest running independent fan 'zine, is looking for new blood. You can read all about us in E-ON number 13, if you'd like. Although the reference to Mr M and Page 3 made me wash my brain with bleach.
Ahem.
In any case, the Tribune is hiring new writers. As always, we publish news, commentary, guides, opinion pieces and, yes, sometimes fiction. Now... the last time we had a recruitment drive, we had people coming out of the wood work offering to write fiction. And don't get me wrong, we like a good story as much as the next guy. But we're not a literary magazine. If you only want to write fiction, chances are that you won't find anything to do at the Tribune.
With that being said, we specifically need alliance/corp members who can keep our readers up to date with first hand/accurate news of the wars in EVE, experienced pilots who can share their tricks and tips, empire dwellers who can give readers the straight dope on the many facets of carebearing, witty/funny/ranty folks who can talk a good game, and pretty much anybody who loves EVE, wants to share their experiences with the gaming community, and can write for a deadline. Oh yeah, and anybody who wants to be able to keep themselves in ships by writing instead of ratting/missioning.
We welcome newer players, and we don't believe that you need millions of SP's to be able to write well and share your experiences. Don't let your in-game age discourage you if you feel you have something to share.
So... the money.
Yes, we at the Tribune pay you to write for us. 20 million ISK per page, actually. We publish on a deadline, and getting your work in on time and in the proper format is important, but the compensation should be more than worth it.

For those who have questions or things you'd like cleared up, email editor.evetribune@gmail.com
(Note for the mods: those are business, not personal email addresses.)
And a note for everybody else... if you want to be hired, don't email the editor and ask for a job. The editor won't hire you. The editor can't hire you. If you email the editor and ask to be hired, it will indicate that you might very well have trouble counting to 20 with your shoes on. It's not a good way to make a first impression.
Anyways, folks who like writing, we hope to hear from you and we'll make it well worth your while.

Alternatively, gimme 10000 characters of space, throw my contribution thru bablefish and call it "Rod's Rambling"(either with or without the addition of "...again", it'd be a hit either way).

To be honest, we've had sources from numerous alliances, but we've been lacking first hand reporting from BoB. IF you have any corp/alliance member who'd be interested in writing for us, send them our way. Getting first hand battle reports recently is a real... difficulty.

Heh. We do try to report on current events as best as possible, and we would like accurate accounts only.
Like I said, if you have any buddies who'd be interested in replacing a battleship loss a week by writing instead of doing whatever it is y'all do to earn ISK, send them our way. We're also, of course, interested in a range of other types of articles.
As for getting in touch with us, although I assume that you're joking, for those who are serious about it, EVEMail just doesn't work. Folks need to get on staff so they can read our rules and guidelines, and they need to send articles in Word format to the editor. Hell, as my computer's CPU recently melted, I'm not in game much at all and won't be until I can afford a new computer. Email is much better.
So, for any folks reading along who are interested in making 20 mil ISK per page, email evetribune@gmail.com and find out about getting on staff.

Or at least if I in my role as the Tribune's Autarch, decided it was good.
If you'd like to try your hand at it, think about applying for a staff position. Even if you don't, tell your corpies and alliance mates, we're always looking for new blood.

Afraid not. We require writers to read our rules, let the other staffers know what you're working on, etc... Being on staff doesn't mean you're obligated to write for us every week, or most weeks. But you can't write for us if you're not on staff.
