Eve has grown useless and boring, do you remember castor? those were the days.
Dual mwd raven's outrunning missiles, Dual mwd inty's going super duper fast, Kestrel with cruise, Blackbird's and Caracal with torps. No pos og capitals, no warp to 0 and few had instas, no blobs no alliances.
The pirate life back then was awesome. Eve was so fun i can't even describe it.
looking at old videos from Castor just made me really want castor back. CCP make this game fun again and just bring castor back.

Games arent supposed to be serious you, and gang warfare is no fun what is the fun of beeing in a +40 man gang and waiting for 3-4 hours for something to happend then you meet another big gang and you lag to hell and next thing you know your ether been podded or you have survived and you still didnt see anything happend. Or you sit at a pos killing it for hours and then do another pos that is so useless, i could have more fun in Pacman

Signed, give us back full racks of damage mods, none of this dumbed down stacking non sense. It was Tuxford who wanted to make fights last longer, just admit stacking is an awful idea that only serve the stupid.

If Eve hadn't moved on from Castor it would have closed. Castor was too niche. It was also more buggy (I remember when a CTD was something that happened two or three times per session). Now it's something that happens..well..I dunno.

If you've been playing this game longer than six months you are bound to feel differently about it. All the mystery will have gone. Probably most of the excitement as well.
People often run away from the present (and especially the future) by hiding in the past. Truth is that nostalgia is a nasty, sneaky emotion that nearly always obscures and warps the truth. Don't trust it

When i started playing 2,5 years ago even just the music with the login page made me excited of being back in the game and just play, explore systems and such.
Nowadays you've heard and seen it all and realise space isn't dynamic but rather static. Lurking by a gate and checking info on every damn big ass ship you saw, imagining flying it one day. Imagining it's possibilities rather than it's limitations. Well i can tell you this; It ain't as special actually flying it than when you saw it for the first time. Also seeing things change constantly from the point where you got to know it has it's effects.
Don't get me wrong, EvE still "pleasures" me but it doesn't even have half the feeling of grandeur it had when i started. But i'll be here longer than today for one simple reason.. There's no better space/sci-fi MMO out there.

tbh Castor as it was can never return. I too think fondly of those times, but back then the game was newer, smaller and the universe larger because of it. That same ambiance would never be regained. It's like wanting to live in the early 1900's, sure you can build like it, it would however never be the same considering what you know.
Saying the game is worse off these days is like saying the procession of time is a bad thing, things will however never stay, no matter how bad you'd want to.
I love the 21st century btw, and i love the Empyrean Age as well :)

I REALLY WOULDN'T MIND EVE BEING BORING, IF IT WAS BLOODY REALISTIC< WHICH IT AIN'T.
Flying through planets anyone? Ball feel to ships? Super fast heavy weight bs?
.......etc the list goes on. If you going to have a design so bold, may as well carry it on all the way. Don't give realistic management with fake game play. or the opposite.
I haven't left the station since May or June, Hardly worth it.

And how do you know it's not possible to warp through a planet? Have you ever entered warp irl and happen to bump into a planet or something? Do you know that if you would thrust an object in space it would reach 20Km/s easily no matter the size of said object? Far beyond that aswell...space is a vacuum with no actual friction to hold things back you know...
Simple fact is no-one knows what it's like to be in spaceships flying through space so don't play the realism card...It has yet to be invented.

i had a great time last night.
not had as much fun as that since....2-3 weeks ago. and before that... another 2 weeks maybe?
i like eve in its current state and i also liked castor eve.

Castor sucked donkey balls compared to today's Eve.
However, in some respects it was much better yes. I'd rather see station pingpong back then this crap *shoot threehundredsixtysevenpos'sandgetonestation* thing we have now.
On the other hand, lag is improved, flexibility in setups and ships is greatly improved, and while castor balance with dual 100mn AB mallers and shit was great fun, it essentially sucks when placed in todays community of more calculating and better informed players.
Back then only a few groups were any good at evolving fotm tactics. Nowadays everyone does it. And having everyone fly dual mwd raven, ecm fitted tempest and dual BA maller gangs would suck rather majorly.

I find this EVE Online anno 2008 to be quite entertaining really. And I dont think I would like to go back to any older version of the game. I am having simply too much fun!

I could actually find all points to argue about since you could explain the bumping; a proximity detector that prevents your ship from exploding as it crashes into another one by changing direction. The same will do for the other ship that detects the incoming ship and automaticly evades said action. I never experienced actually flying through planets without warp, only bumping off them when you had a bm that placed you on the planet.
Point is; Whine all about realism you want but there's just a decision to be made regarding having fun while being relatively strict or watching a glorified calculator with pretty grafics. And you're right: They are stupid points so stop posting them.
