A simpler solution? Change Afterburner overload bonus to something silly crazy, above MWD speed values. While overloading, it consumes an appropriately large amount of cap. The amount of heat damage from an overloading AB would be increased to above MWD overload. 1-2 cycles at frigate, +1 cycle for each size (so 2-3 cruiser, 3-4 BS).
There, now you have a module that can be used for GTFO situations while still useful for inside-web-range warfare. For ships that want maximum tactical maneuverability, they can still fit the MWD and not deal with the massive cap consumption or limited operation time due to burnout.
OR we could just nerf the hell out of everything. Hmm....

Of course you malediction could
It actually can. I have tested it

You don't need to go 3km/sec to get back to a gate.
A BC with an overheated MWD and no other speed mods, right now, is almost certainly going to make it back to the gate if there's no Huginn/Rapier present.
...So it'l lose a bit of speed, and perhaps some agility too - but at the same time Webbers are being hit incredibly hard, so I imagine it'll even that out somewhat...
EVE will be a very different game, but in the long run I think it's for the better, IMO. I'll miss my nanoCerb, tho |

Like was said before: CCP trying to make game easier for 1 week old drake newbs (or 1 month old raven pilots if ya prefer it this way). Never had problem with killing drones if i actually focused on it, but suddenly drones are too good. And then pilgrim has shittiest DPS of all recons (ok maybe xcept falcon) and its getting nerfed? Heh...

You realise that im not talking about nanos? Im talking about setups requiring mwd's in general, i may have only been playing a bit less than a cpl years, but im pretty sure mwd's have been the norm for ages even before nano.
Now their nerfing mwd's, not just nano, so EVE wont be all "rosy" like it was pre-nano imo. Awesome EVE history

Eh, its ok tbh.. I'm really impressed with the Armageddon, and I have almost no gunnery skills..
I can camp gates I can kill big stuff quickly I can kill small stuff laughably I have a very impressive tank for being buffer + T2 (yay for all that pilgrim training ) I last alot longer against multiples I have 24km Neut range
Srsly.. I'm kinda wondering why I even bothered with it in the first place.. I mean, it can get around a bit more easily, but damn..
PS: I can even catch cruisers faster in the geddon than the pilgrim..

50 player camping a gate... one player jumps in.
Question, what do you think CCP wants to happen here? I think they want 50 happy custumer vs 50 sad custumer....
Took us players years to convince ccp to give us warp to zero. Why so long? Because ccp was afraid gate camping would become obsolete. This is why we got warp to zero at the same time as the re-introduction of the large bubble and dictors.
Have you ever wonder what idiot jumps into a 0.0 entry system in a faction bs and no scout? Or that carrier ratting in a belt? Its CCP employee keeping their customer base happy (btw if I am off based here CCP, you really should have employee jump good shit into gate camps on a regular basis, its good for business ).
Okay, so now that we clear the air, less whine about not being able to burn back to the gate to escape camp, more useful discussion about how minmatar ship needs some love after the nerf (Recon's and Hacs especially) |

No, the examples of Gallente ships not being able effectively hit *BATTLESHIPS* involves an AB. Blasters are simply incapable of even hitting webbed cruisers in their optimal.... but lasers manage it just fine at theirs.
Balance? I think not.

since ccp wants everyone to use scrams and ab's now, i would like them to explain to me how my neutron mega will ever catch anything if fitted with a ab and a 7.5km scram???

You're wrong.
1. Take a mega, fit with neutrons and antimatter and compare to a geddon with megapulse and multies.
2. Let them hit an ABing cruiser, approx 260 sig and 500m/s transversal
3. The mega has around 50% hit chance (as max) at 12km while the geddon has a 50% hit chance (as max) at 19km.
4. This isnt even considering that a closer orbit would cause lesser speed and lesser transversal also. It shows that blasters actually hit BETTER then pulses at their optimal.
5. YOU ARE WRONG. Stop making stuff up that is not true, liang. ----------------------------------------- [Video] Support Barrage |

1) Since when is a neutron Megathron's optimal 12km? By that point you're getting into falloff.
2) Ever hear of something called Scorch L? Why would the Armageddon be limited to 19km when it can easily hit 40-50km with only a slight loss of damage? At that range, the Armageddon will have no problem tracking a cruiser.
