Since I make a lot of ISK from low sec exploration and have mentioned this fact in my blog, I get questions from time to time about how I do it. To answer those questions, I have blogged about my approach and included some survival tips.
This information is intended to shed light on the topic for less experienced explorers or those unfamiliar with low sec who'd like to try their hand exploring there. YMMV. Please feel free to correct or add to the information I've supplied.
And if you think I have a dual agenda to share info AND lure more targets into low sec, well hey. I'm a pirate. You just might be right.

Nice blog! I prefer combat plexes myself, there's just this thing about trying to find the "unknown," you know... But radar plexes probably DO offer a better payoff.
One thing I found: Scanning down and running plexes with an actual wingman instead of an alt is more fun and easier. It does mean having to share the loot, though...

apart from the fact that the guide tells nothing new (ok I am not a newb) I hate when people brag how good they do when metagaming ... I mean come on ... take a corp mate/friend at least if you have to use 2 chars ...
the amount of alts used on 2nd clients is killing the game ...

I used to use a Pilgrim, and just jump into a cov ops before hand. Don't even need a mate/alt!
I could make around 500mil a day happily solo. If I started it up again i'd probably take a Phantasm so you get the spare utility hi-slots and it can easily tank the spawns. This is partly why drone boats like the Pilgrim work nicely, you don't gimp your dps and can still hack.
Sure beats 0.0. ratting and with a lot of low-sec almost dead it's very viable.

Ranging as far through low sec as I do, the logistics (having a cov ops for the scanning part and something else that can deal with the rats) makes using two accounts more feasible.
I do invite corpmates and friends to help and happily split the proceeds with them from time to time. But I don't like to share my main source of income, tbh. The way I go through ships, I can hardly afford to.
