So here we are awaiting the nano nerf. We think for ourselves, "Sure eve is good, but what is best in eve?". Many, with the upcoming nerf in mind, would say "A logistic, a RR-fleet BS, falcons at your wrists and solar winds in your hair". Wrong! That is not what eve is about; It's about crushing your enemies (and possibly your keyboard) with a series of F1-F8 face-rolls, if you ask me as an amarrian.
Now CCP is slowly moving towards removing nanos and have put alot of thought into the next patch changes. The most vocal part of the opposition have been too proud of the technological terror, called nano warfare, they have created but failed to realise that their powers are insignificant next to the power of the ccp nerf bat. I find the lack of faith, in ccp's nerf bat, as of late, disturbing.
There are many of us that want to remove the nano's from the pipes. I just the other day got... a hauler was sent by my corp at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday. I got it yesterday [Tuesday]. Why? Why? Because it got tangled up in a big ball with all these things going on the tubes. Eve space is not something you dump thousands of nanos on, it's a series of tubes.
My point is that if you are not ready for the changes you will be better off flying a hauler full of rubber dog shit out of jita!

Discuss? Is there something to discuss about then? Maybe about how a awesome job ccp is doing with this whole nerf? Maybe about people who think eve and everything in it is fine? -- Sig:

If its all about adapting then why do you constantly whine about falcons on these forums? Didn't you actually cancel your sub about it (for a while) or at least claimed so on the forums? You are being a self-righteous hypocrite tbh.
Anyway have your fun. The next time ccp hits some of your tools you won't be so supportive i bet. --

If Arazu pilots put even a tenth of the energy into making proposals to improve Keres/Arazu/Lachesis that they invest in "nerf falcon" whines, I might feel more sympathy.

my lvl 13 chosen entered in an low-rank RvR zone just to be transformed into a chicken!
however if you're low-level and you enter in a higher rank RvR zone, you get a lvl buff for the zone only. ---

The game really hit the ground running. It's been the smoothest MMO launch I've seen. It's definitely focused around PVP, but there's also a surprising amount of PVE content available. The dev's thus far are also quite responsive, fixing several annoying things and adding requested features promptly, and they seem to understand how their own game works (casual war players don't wear HG snakes ).
I closed the account Boz was on, haha, and hence the traderboz persona, but I still have the others. I'm not really playing them other than to train, and I'd definitely say the $50 for War is worth it thus far.

It's hard to say. They do many things that I like - the Public Quests for example are a neat PVE mechanic. The RvR stuff however is where the game ought to shine but it really depends on a careful balance between the two sides. Most of the "good" gear you can buy has to be purchased inside the RvR zones, and on my server Order is drastically outnumbered so that of 6 teir 2 keeps, at any given time we might, if we combine the efforts of a few dozen of us, wrench the keep from the hands of Chaos after choking their rivers with our dead for a few hours.
Much of the game balance issues may spring from the fact that I'm on an Open RvR server, which means a level 22 could in all reality go tearing through the level 1 noob zone and just annihilate everything they see (it happens regularly really). Unlike the normal server, an Open server lets people who are skilled enough to be in a higher tier fight in a lower tier.
As far as basic gameplay goes, it's nothing special. It's WoW with a darker theme, both in terms of art and description. The standard MMO class mechanics exist here - only they boil it down to 4 basic archetypes - tank, healer, ranged DPS and melee dps. That being said, there is actually quite a bit of variety between classes of the same archetype. One Melee DPS class, the Witch Hunter, delivers absolute gobs of damage and has the ability to deliver crushing attacks over a short ranged distance but has absolutely no armor (they are also one of two classes that has any true stealth ability). Another variation, the Marauder has substantially improved personal protection but they don't deliver quite as much damage.
The PVP is nice and accessable but it's not really as exciting as it is in Eve. There is no penalty for death (you don't even have to repair gear), and at worst you may suffer for 15 minutes (if killed by a mob) of -10% of your HP. It's also apparent that as a single person you have absolutely no direct impact on anything.
Is it worth 50 bucks? I don't really know. It's a solid game but it's focus on ultimately meaningless PvP will probably be it's downfall for me.

however if you're low-level and you enter in a higher rank RvR zone, you get a lvl buff for the zone only.
Note that buff only gives you equivlanet HP and base stats - your skills still operate at your base levels. Thus why a level 8 will murder a level 1 in a scenario even though they are theoritically even (well, and one can not discount the effects of gear).
Also, I hate chosen. Even if I manage to hit them from incognito (I'm a Witch Hunter) they can usually outlast me. And much of the time they form an almost impenetrable wall of steel and meat.

Well I guess I'll have to seriously consider giving it a run. I've always liked playing healer types (you'll notice I have 3 logistics pilots. :p) ... so maybe it'll be the game for me. Casual PVP without the soul crushing PVE that Eve requires.

Healing is less soul crushing here than in most games because most healers have a legitimate ability to deal damage. The empire Healer for example is a melee fighter (and often they forget they are healers not tanks). The Order elf healer has some decent DoT ranged attacks. The ability to target two seperate thigns (an enemy and a friendly with skills that automatically distinguish between which should go where) goes a long way at keeping the whole ordeal at least somewhat orderly.
