Should an attempt be made, in coordination with the goons burn Jita attempt to split the main trade hub between Jita and Amarr? If volume picked up in Amarr, even at the expense of falling volume in Jita, it would create more opportunities for an arbitage profit between the two hubs. |

I think the event's effect prediction is being overblown, and closer alternatives like Perimeter will be utilized before Amarr.
There is enough trade momentum, and a specially reinforced node, that I anticipate the effort to affect Jita more than just temporarily to be a formidable challenge.
Even though I currently own and actively use four freighters and two jumpfreighters, I'm looking forward to it being a fun and interesting affair. I'm not planning to stay away from Jita yet. |

Amarr is already a mini jita.
Has been for a good while now.
What is needed is some life in dodixie.
Rens is still doing ok.
Many players can only go into one of the waring sides of space.
It use to be very heavy caldari but since the agents got the changes that is spliting up.
Would be nice to see Rens and jita get more life to help players who are negetitve with caldari/amarr.
Defintetly has the most growth opportunity. |

Not, necessary, but for theory crafting purposes I
A second hub cannot be Amarr, because of standingds/FW.
it would need to within the Gallente-Minmatar sphere of influence, ideally near their mutual border.
If we limit it to existing trade hubs, that means Dodoxie or Hek. |

Before you guys go ahead with this I suggest you ask the rest of EVE if they down with it or at least let them know of your plans in advance so preparations can be made.

That would be like pushing on a rope, or trying to stop a stream with your hands.
The only thing that would long-term break Jita's volume would be if CCP implements some sort of system where the more traders that crowd into a particular system, the higher fees/taxes go up.

I was thinking the same thing. Jita may have special code now to deal with the fact that it's a trade hub, but it became one organically. People go to Jita because others go to Jita, and while there are minor traffic problems at the 4-4 undock, they are not particularly acute or bad enough to scare people away. There are no docking fees or even potential scarcity of docking or storage space that would exist in a real trading hub. |

You cannot "move the hub" more than you can tell electrical current to take a different route using only your words.
make it not worth-while enough, and people will stop going.
1)charge jumps in/out of jita 2)charge docking fees similar to office fees, they go up when numbers go up.
those two will pretty much stop jita as a hub. question is.. why do you want to a different hub? just to make some arbitrage trading? seriously? |

a trading hub is like a natural phenomenon, it happens under certain conditions and cannot be artificially replicated. And if it is, its a prity half ass one at best |

According to Dr E at fanfest Amarr space has been seeing alot of growth because things are getting crowded. The Jita burning interdiction might be the spark Amarr needs to compete with Jita An' then [email protected], he come scramblin outta the Terminal room screaming "The system's crashing!
