Edited by: Sochin on 30/06/2004 00:56:04 Well, in today's CSM Oveur confirmed that killmails are in the next patch. Thats great, but I think we can do better.
My idea is if someone is in a gang and kill someone, the killmail gets sent to the gangleader instead (Or to both?). However, instead of getting one killmail for each individual kill, when the gang is DISBANDED the gang leader would get a single evemail listing ALL the kills that gangmembers participated in. Like a digest.
You could also possibly put a "Send kill-list" option in the Gang Options dialog that when clicked would automatically send you an evemail with the current killlist (Along with a date/time stamp).
This would eliminate the mess of asking everyone if they got a killmail and trying to tally the kills at the end of the battle.

An even better idea.
Mark each mail with a unique ID number. In the html browser allow people to punch in ID numbers to see what the mail contained. Like if you goto www.eve-online.com/kills/ in the ingame browser.
This is so people can confirm kill mails as being real and not made up propaganda. Also people can post on forum kill mail ID numbers that players can confirm in game or out of game as being real with the contents and date.
Otherwise they arent going to be worth jack.

Hey Sochin, what makes you think that "Dev Oveur" isn't just a general use ALT that CCP uses to pacify the forums?
Probably really Wrangler in disguise
Stop griping about server instability and go buy an EVE mug!
Additionally with the purchase of each mug you will receive two(2) invisible Elves.

great idea, the gang leader is a leader and should get the info
and the id numbers is also very interesting, that way we could even rank it, like the biggest murderer, the biggest ship destroyer, one who gets killed most of the time and so on

I've met Oveur in person, and unless he possesses some seekr1t j0vian technology that allows him to clone himself or occupy 2 places at once, he is not Wrangler.
As for expanded kill mails or additional mails being sent out, let's get the first run in, see if there are any problems with it and go from there.

I'm afraid it's not that simple. The choice was very easy for me:
A) Send the same mail that the player already gets when killed to the one that does the most damage, since that is already tracked for our combat ranking system and be able to slip it out in a patch that was feature freezed 2 weeks ago
B) Do "I'd like to have this, this, this and this with this and this option" having to mess with various systems that we are not touching in this patch meaning I can't slip it in for the next patch, since it requires extensive testing in those extra systems we touch.
I'm sure you agree with my decision, getting the basic "confirmed kill" mail in is the correct choice.
Oh, and as kieron says, I very much exist _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

Have Hilmar, Reynir, Kjartan, Ivar, Sigurdur(on leave), Fridrick & Co. all been fired then * The departure of Ingunn is still painful even now *
Or did you (Oveur) replace them all in some sort of Icelandic Yakuza/Mafia take over ...

Oveur, Question about this when will it reset, cuase if you are out fooling around with corp mates, and this is the most damage done to the ship the corp mates will likely get the eve-mail even though it was hours ago. Unless you do something like the most damage in last x amount of time i am not sure that this will fix any of the problems. 0verkill Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean we aren't out to get you.
