Here is an updated list of factions resistences and the types of damage they do to you. The faction will be listed first followed in brackets by some common names of the NPC's that appear in your overview in space. Some new names have been added that aren't on this list so if it's not specifically listed on here simply check info on the NPC from your overview and it will usuaully tell you what faction that NPC is from.
Below is what type of damage the faction will be attacking YOU with.
So when fighting these factions high resistence to the listed damage type.
Gallente Navy - KI/TH
Amarr Navy - EM/TH
Caldari Navy - KI/TH
Minmatar Republic Fleet - EX/KI
Amar (EoM) - KI/TH
Arch Angels (Gisti/Gistum/Angel) - EX/KI
Blood Raiders (Corpi/Corpum/Blood) - EM/TH
Sansha's (Centi/Centum) EM/TH
Mordus (Mordus) - KI/TH
Serpentis (Serpentis) - KI/TH
Thukker (Thukker) - EX/TH/ a little KI
Ammatar (Ammatar) - EM/TH
Khanid (Khanid) - EM/TH
Pirates (Guristas/Pithi) - KI-TH
Drone (Alvi) - EX/ KI andor TH
Unkown (Mercenary) - KI/TH
Below is the two types of resistence the faction is most weak against. Weakest will be listed first, followed by second weakest. The listed damage types are what you should be attacking the appropraite faction with.

Thukkar I think should be explosive as their weakest?
Serpentis dish out more thermal than kinetic (although they're weaker to kinetic over thermal). |

Can you offer a suggestion as to what kind of drones to use against each faction type? Because the different drones have different damage multipliers, I don't think its a straight-forward approach of using the drone that deals the particular type of damage you want to deal. |

ummm they do kin and thermal and em damage... I know this as I fight them while do missions for gurista..

I use eveInfo to look at rat damage and resistances. I find that people simply saying some faction of rats do Kin/Therm damage doesn't mean a whole lot unless you specify the percentages of each. It's a frustration I've had with many of the mission write-ups on eve-survival. It does matter if the damage taken is, for example, 70%Kin/20%Therm or 55%Kin/45%Therm. The shielding setups I use would be different for those two situations.
The other thing I like about the eveInfo site is that it also lists, in detail, the amount of DPS to expect NPCs within each damage type. Additionally, you can tell what resistances (again, in detail) the rats have against different damage types, their orbiting distance (i.e. should I fit strictly CMs or a combination of CMs and torps), etc.

OP, I have to wonder where and how you derived your data.
IE, Angels are often weakest in Ex/Kin, Amarr Navy in EM/Th and Amarr Navy deal a lot of kinetic damage at the BS level. Those are 3 errors that jumped out at me and I'm sure I can find more things to critique if I cared to do so.
I have the feeling you just took ie all Amarr, rolled them in to one big pile, then averaged the resistances. If so, you failed.
I find sites like Eve-survival and Elfarto's npc database to be far more useful than your pile of misinformation. Sorry. |
