Greetings all, Have a question concerning what happens if you decide to delete a character for whatever reason in Eve.
Had an alt that was basically a non-starter (intentions changed after initial creation), so I used the delete button on the log in page in order to create another more suited to his intended role.
I kind of liked the idea of the 24 hour cool down period during which you can recover him once you click the button. Next day he was basically gone (after a confirmation click), and a new character created in his place.
Here's the part I'm curious about though.
His Pod is still on the hanger floor. Could I still bring him back if I decided too at some point in the future? Is this thing of any use or value at all? or does it mearly take up space and if so, is there any best way to get rid of it as just trashing it seems somehow, I don't know :) disrespectful.
Anyway, thats the question. Character was deleted to make way for a replacement yet his capsule still exists and is in my possession. What to do with it?
Thanks in advance :) Yes I'm a noob and no you can't have my stuff. <GRIN> |

Nothing, sometimes a capsule remains after you jumped into a ship, it's a glitch. So the char is gone obviously.

thanks
I tried to move it once and the game told me I couldn't transport assembled ships. He's the only alt that has ever been eliminated (strong on trade skills but no combat ability at all. It seemed like a good idea at the time at least until I realized I was basically wasting a slot).
Didn't want to try and activate the pod because I was concerned it might mess with the character attempting to perform the activation.
So basically, just trash the thing.
Or keep it as a paperweight :)
Thanks again, I've been reading many of your posts. Most helpful :)
appreciated.

That pod is functionally equivalent to a ship. You could repackage, assemble and/or board it just the same as any other ship.
They are also fairly easy to create:
1) Leave your current ship (such that you are dock in a pod) 2) Activate jump clone in a different station 3) Return to station where you left your pod 4) ... 5) Profit!
