Global warming is the general warming of the earth. However in actuallity certain parts of the earth warmed up while others cooled down. For example the poles heated up the most, but other parts of the earth actually cooled down. It's climate change rather then everywhere in the world warming up. _______________

I got it about 2 weeks ago and it knocked out my power for several hours. Since then we've had partly cloudy and wonderful 65 degree weather.

My main concern is that a rescue mission should only contain united teammates, my cats are rather *****y atm. No chance of an effiecent search. This leaves me with on solution sending one cat out though reducing effectiveness by 70%*.
*One cat in particular is ******ed.

Global warming does not mean everywhere is getting hotter. It means the average temperature all over the world is getting warmer.
It also means freaky weather for everyone (more hurricanes, storms, floods and so forth). For Britain in particular, climate change could knock our precious Gulf Stream (stream of warm air that keeps Britain toasty) away from us. That'll mean the weather here should become somewhat closer to the weather in, say, Moscow, which is at about the same latitude. ------

Actually he's right. Ever wonder why a hurricane dies when it goes over land or too far north? Hurricanes are powered by warm ocean water. Warm the ocean along with the rest of the world and hurricanes become stronger and more frequent. _______________

Actually he's right. Ever wonder why a hurricane dies when it goes over land or too far north? Hurricanes are powered by warm ocean water. Warm the ocean along with the rest of the world and hurricanes become stronger and more frequent.
Correct.
Of course, there have been less frequent and weaker hurricanes over the past two years.
AND the average global temperature has been steady or FALLING for the past 12 years.
But let's all still freak out like Chicken Littles and demand global communism to "Stop Global Warming!!"
(That wasn't directed at you personally Duban, it was more of a general complaint about the tenor of many "Global Warming" advocates. Just didn't want a misunderstanding.)
a few points regarding Global Climate Change:
1) Global climate change (in one direction or another) is inevitable on Planet Earth. It's been going on for 4.5 billion years and won't be stopping anytime soon.
2) Can we, with any serious degree of accuracy, predict the FUTURE of Global climate change? No. Not yet anyway. With hard work that may change, but it won't be anytime soon.
3) Can we seriously affect global climate in a manner that will aid humanity's long term survival chances? No. Partly because making a positive change is predicated by the need to understand the future of the change, which we cannot yet do. Also because we do not fully understand the forces at work on our planet that control the change (HINT: it isn't just CO2, and may not be CO2 at all, or only minimally.). And finally because we humans and our effect on the Global Climate are far more insignificant than our bloated egos will allow us to comprehend.
So what do we do? We follow the EvE principle: Adapt or Die. We humans need to ensure that our economies and technologies are as advanced and flexible as possible to allow for the changing realities of living on our world.
Unfortunately, many of the prescriptions for "Fixing Global Warming" tend to revolve around Global Communism and Socialism. This is suicide. Communistic systems are inflexible, rigid, and unable to adapt to changing conditions. This is why the Soviet Union collapsed. It's a broken system.
The best thing we can do is to reduce regulation and bureaucracy as much as humanly possible to allow the full power of the Free Market to enable the survival of the Human Race, no matter what happens with old Planet Earth.
This also has the rather nice side-effect of bringing Freedom and Democracy to the globe AND raising the overall quality of life for all people.
In the end, we know Planet Earth is doomed to be swallowed by an expanding Sol and reduced to a cinder. If we are smart, we will advance as quickly as possible so we can spread ourselves as far and wide across the Universe as we can. Communism and centralized government control just slows everybody down. We can't afford that, either as individuals, or as a species.
For Humanity to survive, Freedom, Democracy, and Capitalism must rule. Any other way leads to extinction. Tactical Logistics using the last T1 Frigate hull!

Status update : Still one cat missing, although the biggest snow storm in London for a while it has ceased. Temperature remains cold enough to make the cat very grumpy. The best cause of action is remain passive in the search, its most likely the cat is watching the house wishing for me to go outside and search! Just so that he may feel loved a bit more. Bugger him.

I can imagine after all that time, mother earth is getting bored with the same old thing over and over. She's probably thinking, "These humans are getting high and mighty thinking that what they do can create a problem for me. I'll **** with their heads for a while and show them what I'm really capable of. By the time I'm finished, they won't know if it's them doing it or judgement day arriving."

I present to you the portuguese weather:
1 week ago, we had temperatures that would almost hit the 30ŚC, pretty much a cool summer day.
in the space of 3 days we went from 27ŚC max to 15ŚC max.
so yes, we had only 1 day of autumn here, and we're heading very fast to winter days in the middle of the autumn.
oh yeah.
anyone selling polar suits or smth? it's gonna be a cold winter. ---

for those who don't knowin England it is almost unheard of for snow to arrive in October. Last time this was 1934. And it hasn't just happens in the north of Scotland where warmth never arrives. It seems to be all over the country
although at the time the post it all melted

This.
I live in Michigan (that part of the US that looks like a hand plus that other peninsula above it for all you... other people), and we probably won't get any real snow fall here in the lower peninsula until around Christmas. If I had my way, we'd have snow for Christmas, and then it should just all go away.
