I don't want a bunch of lame holidays in-game. I already have to live through them out-of-game. If there's going to be in-game holidays, at least don't tie them to real-life holidays (ie, December 25th, October 25th, January 1st, etc) -- and include different holidays for different races that don't necessarily cross over through multiple races (though some could).

Honestly, I prefer not to have any event than the typical pumpkin decoration and all that crap.
EVE is supposed to have a dark ambience, if you put a big smiling pumpkin on the concord station... I dunno, it doesn't fit well.
If they spent time in coding a really scary, deep event which doesn't break the ambience, go for it.
Halloween is supposed to be dark and scarey its u americans who get confused and make happy pumpkins and say "Happy Halloween" <- I hate that saying sdlkfh;sdoulf\ahdhj

Yes there is a Halloween event this year. It's a player strike to protest CCP shytting on us from their ivory tower. It hasn't been well publicised though. Basically, if you want to join the protest, tell local and your friends about it and then log out for 24 hours. Go enjoy Halloween in the real world.

I love how people are constantly referring to WoW. Like it's the only MMO out there which has holiday events. Pfft. EVE is one of the few MMOs which don't have them. I venture to say, only a handful don't.

as much as I found the events in WoW to add to the atmosphere of that game (hey we all did stupid sh!t when we where young) it'd be totally misplaced if you just "ported" it from RL into eve.
However, having like the Caldari Celebrate their "split-off day" on the 4th of july, linking them to the american independance day would be fun and add atmosphere to EVE while not janking us out of the mindset and atmosphere that EVE has.

Yes the event with the brooms and witches is in the spring and nothing else.
Now that thread trolling is the fad I make my addition by asking to fly a midsummer pole for spaceship at the completely opposite time of year, ie: Winter solstice December 21 exactly!
