Well, it hasn't come out for about a year so far. There have been no indications that it will come out. CCP posted a message about posting a blog about posting a blog about premium content or something in a couple weeks... but that was months ago and it never happened.
So I would say at best "won't happen for some time" and at worst "won't ever happen".

My bet is on the Newah option. I only hope the classic client will become playable and have a normal performance. There is just so much one can do without rewriting the whole engine and thus it seems that it ain't gonna work without that. CCP rewriting the engine for mac/linux users...newah.

Edited by: Apple Boy on 03/11/2008 22:08:15 cedega doesn't support SM 3 which premium graphics requires http://www.cedega.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8986&sid=12f1b3fe60dab798708c51d1fff08e47
I wish CCP would give us an update on this

I really dont see cedega as an option. We shouldnt have to cash out on a emulator to play eve on a supported platform.

You should read up on what the mac client is. It's the PC client running on top of cedega with some modifications. CCP licensed cedega from transgamming for both the mac and linux client. Apparently codeweaver's crossover now supports SM3 and hence premium graphics, although I haven't tried it. CCP didn't go with crossover because codeweaver's support was lacking.

Edited by: DreadedHunter on 03/11/2008 23:53:01 I know exactly what the client is and how it runs.
I just dont wish to spend more cash to run a supported application on OSX. If CCP decided to bundle cegada part of their client fine...
I mean crossover...

Seems like the chose the wrong horse and it's drunk and ****ed off. Now when they want to take a sober SUPERSTALLION!! The old one bites it's head off. Something has to give.
I personally really really don't believe they will scrap cedega to take crossover. Why? Because they have already invested into cedega and the if that doesn't work the next financial good idea would be to scrap the whole mac/linux clients and just tell people to boot camp it.

Casqade, can we get an update on SM 3 support and any info on the bug that's causing all the instability with 1481?

also, neither cedega, crossover, nor wine are emulators. Infact, that's what wine stands for Wine Is Not an Emulator http://www.winehq.org/site/myths#slow |

Rolled back to 1481 last night... what a breath of fresh air.
3 clients, 4 hours 0 crashes, 0 drop-outs and a higher framerate with 3 clients than with 1 on the current release :)
3.06Ghz Dual Core iMac, NVidia 8800, 4Gb Memory. Dal Screen - 1920x1200 + 1600x1200.
