Well, strictly speaking its probably still Firmus Ixion (FIX) but with only one member atm you're not likely to be getting a wardec from them anytime soon. |

probably cva is oldest as I remember them being around when I started playing I think which pre-dates official ingame alliances.

Was PIE Inc. it's own alliance before it became the executor of CVA or were they only a corp at that point?
If PIE Inc. wasn't the first alliance CVA was via PIE Inc., which is one of the first corporations to begin with.

Colossus Technologies was the first corp to register when Tranquility went live and because of this CCP counts them as the 'offical' first corp. And they're still going.

Oldest Alliance Map (October 2003):
This was in the period before 'official' alliances existed. CVA came into existence as one of these 'unofficial' alliances a few months into the game as a meeting point for Amarrian loyalist corps - but did not claim any 0.0 at that time.
Six months later (June 2004):
Still no currently recognisable alliances in 0.0. Stain Alliance were on the map but they have not consistently existed as a lot of them went inactive or then became Stain Empire, before Stain Alliance re-emerged in a civil war (I think).
Ten months later (Feb 2005):
Now we see the first currently recognisable alliances. Red Alliance were on the map first and even though they were subsequently squeezed down to almost nothing (and then came back) I think they can claim to be the oldest 'consistent' territory holders.
BoB at this stage were fighting Fountain Alliance for what are now seen as their 'home' fortress of Delve. Of course BoB's corps existed from the start and had owned territory elsewhere under other names but it was only afer they took Delve off FA that BoB as an entity 'owned' space.
With the departure of FIX earlier this year Red Alliance and CVA are the only two alliances that were on the map back then who still hold their original core.
I hope that helps!

theres no way to say who is the oldest alliance still active. Mainly because when ccp made us able to create an allaince, there were many made on that first day... So it would be whoever logged in first on patch day.
IF ya want to go back to unoffical alliances, it'd be very hard to say.
Ushra'Khan existed in a different name back when it was first started. First was PROM i believe we called it? People Republic Of Minmatar, or something along those lines, can't really remember what it was called exactly, but that was back in... mid to late 03, which is when eve started i believe...
come now Hardin... you should know better then that to say that an alliance only exists if it holds space...

BoB owned Branch Tenal Venal Fade and Deklein for multiple months going by the name BoB before going south. They are the oldest space holding alliance using the same name. However if you count the Russian team of CA led by Rus which became RA once CA collapsed they would be the longest space holding alliance, since aside from when they were down to 1 station the relatively same RA corps have held Cache since early 04'. There's also another very old Northern alliance, IRON, which has held Deklein off and on since early-mid 04' going by a few different alliance names, but still remaining mostly the same core corps. |
