Can we get a "yes" or "no" from CCP on blackops situation?
There is absolutely NO reason why these ships should have to continue on in their pre nerfed, completely useless, state.

Sure is, when the finally do fix it you will be so so happy that you paid for the game for that extra year. They have a long list of things to fix and this is at the bottom to a list that is getting larger as soon as the patch is released.
I dont understand why dedicated ceptor pilots aren't complaining more about this nerf, I never flew Nano HACs, just killed them, which I will miss very very much, that game play was a lot of fun, but the ceptor role is gone baby gone, all the work of building very expensive ceptors is gone, implants, drugs, faction mwd's are worthless, its just a very sad situation, anyone saying that flying a ceptor at a very high level or is an I win button doesn't know what they are talking about, its too bad to leave a game you loved because the devs are short sighted.
Future X - Customer of EVE and CCP products, and yes I will keep posting until all my accounts are expired because its the only way to vent about a years worth of work in game going down the crapper, I will only be left to harass the devs in person at every GDC for the rest of my life or until CCP implodes.
Anyone know what CCP stands for? only thing I can come up with is..
Careless Corporate Pinheads which does not really fit my feelings of bitterness as just a short time ago I thought these same people had made the best game I would ever play in my life? What a turn around...

The medals are cool, the certifications are nice, but that's about it.
A new capital industrial so that now high sec macro ice miners can do their jobs easier? - Lame
Speed "Re-balance" that will bring back the Battle Ship blobs and remove ship diversity while claiming to do the opposite? - Deal breaker
The rest? Gimmicks designed to take people's mind off the damage this update will do to the game.
Why CCP? You used to be the one company that ran your game in a very laissez-faire manner. You kept your hands off, you let the players kill/scam/steal/do dirty to their hearts content. That is what attracted me to EVE. Just like any government, however, your tendency to grow your control, put your hands where they don't belong, and fix things that aren't broken have gotten the best of you. It would be smart of you to return to your roots, to what made you who you were.
Now you adhere to the care bear, and expect me to roll over and take it because I have some shiny medals to play with. If you wanted to make the game more accessible to players, and prevent the new ones from quitting after 8 months, there are lots of other things you could do. However, you insist on agitating your long-term player base by slapping us in the face with useless crap and insulting nerfs. (I still want my damn drones back BY THE WAY.) This is very disturbing and even more foolish.
If anyone agrees, feel free to quote me. Maybe CCP will listen then.

Originally by: Cpt Branko CCP, thank you for making me fit scramblers to every short range ship instead of disruptors. I did not need the ability to fight outside of webrange in my frigates/cruisers/BCs and everyone I warp to is always at 0 anyway.
Thank you for making me have to fit 2x medium neuts to every cruiser/BC hull in order to not die to a single AF in a BC/CS/cruiser/HAC. I always considered the way those CS can fend off a AF totally overpowered.
Thank you for making a 15 mil T2 fit interceptor safe from turret fire for solo tackling, while even the pimped interceptor - which can no longer be pimped within reason of course - is extremely unsafe in gang fights.
Thank you for making medium blaster boats have even less of a chance to ever fire in optimal. If people want to get in optimal, that's what power of 2 and a Falcon alt is for.
Thank you for nerfing nanos by lowering the speed of everything else in game. After all, with the relative speed differences remaining the same and you scaling weapon and EW range/tracking/DPS to compensate, everything is still the same.
Thank you for enticing me to blob with my battleships. I'd just lose them while solo, after all, and you protected me from this error by making this clearly unfeasible. Also, thank you for making them more effective vs those dreadful smaller things when they are in properly sized blobs.
This is a awesome combat upgrade, and I really have to thank CCP for a awesome job, splendid job done balancing and fine-tuning the changes, and above all, excellent communication with its customers.
That about sums it up. CCP is making a large mistake to help out blobs. Numbers is everything right? I don't count old fashioned European warfare of standing in lines shooting at each other as brilliant tactics. CCP seems to think it will be if now there are no ships that can do anything else. I want solo pvp back and i don't want to just fly battleships.

thank you, i never knew the game put such a limit on pvp options
PS I like the ability to stack weapons though, that is a much needed change.

We have been, I think, I've almost given up, CCP is run by suits, suits are idiots, it's not that speed is being "rebalanced" it's that speed is being kicked in the nuts, being dubbed the anti-christ then thrown to the Catholics.
Originally by: Undeadenemy Now you adhere to the care bear...
When I do the whole mission thing I like my pulse Abaddon to be fast... for a T3 Amarr BS with an AB, as to catch up to those Serpentis ****s that fly out to 60 with blasters or to travel across rooms with 60km between the warp in and the gate, like Mordus head hunters it's just bad game design introducing or enhancing frustrating features. But as I've said before I'm out of energy on this debate so I'll just kick CCP in the nuts, you can't have any more of my money.
Also idiots at CCP are you going to hand out the patch notes or drop an anvil onto everyone's nuts? ------ FIX THE BLOODY OVERVIEW ALREADY! SPEED NERF! RUN FOR THE HILLS! |

P.S. You may as well go ahead and require consent for PVP, putting the final nail in the coffin. Great game, foolish design decisions. I honestly don't know how much more of this I can stand, pretty soon I'm going to start voting with my money. The best thing you could do right now, is fire the crap out of whoever came up with these ridiculous ideas before they completely decimate your customer base.

Maybe a CCP employee should read the ship set ups section of the forums and come up with some 'CCP approved' fittings as a big thank you to all those people who posted fittings that have been nerfed or won't be effective after this next patch.
Y'know, like fitting small guns on battleships.
C'mon CCP where are these devs that know so much about combat in Eve that they have implemented these changes? Let's see their new fittings for their Megatrons and Vagabonds.
Whats that? They are all flying Orcas!

I, like many others, am kinda surprised by how thin this 'expansion' is. Most of what is listed is already in the game... Stackless IO: Been in for around 2 months 64 bit OS: Been in for over a month Autopilot avoid system: Been in for over 3 weeks There were others but I forget them at this point.... Not sure how you can include any of those items as part of the 'expansion' since they've been active in the live game for weeks/months before the 'expansion'.
As to the speed 'rebalance'? I tried it on sisi and there were some problems with it (probably still are) but I'm willing to play 'wait and see' to see how it gets implemented live and what tweaks they make to it after release before screaming bloody murder about it. Suffice to say I think they overnerfed bigtime on this one and, like ECM, will have to come back and rebalance it again.

Edited by: Quantum Rise on 07/11/2008 16:02:54 I have no idea these changes are going to effect me as I still haven't even figured out the current ones. Haven't really gotten into PVP. I like solo play, in fact the description of the game addresses the fact that this game is for people who like to play solo or people who like to play with or against others. As far as I can tell from these posts the solo part is being nerfed.
Orca----seems like it will allow High Sec corps to strip belts even faster and drive down the mineral value causing solo hulk pilots to have to work even harder to make a living or join a large corp.
Speed Nerf---as far as I can tell it will cause solo PVP to have to run in groups with a mix of large and small ships. Wouldn't it also make it harder for solo ships to get away from groups? (Wasn't expecting a speed nerf).

Harder to get away from groups is part of the fun. If you don't enjoy that then it means you havn't got any balls (which alot of Eve "PvPers" havn't, hence why they rely on speed), and if you havn't got balls then you don't deserve to win, only die to teach you a lesson. Fair is fair.

Isn't it up to the attacker to adjust to the person they are attacking. Otherwise it just takes that tactic part out of the game and turns it into a punching contest where the person with the bigger guns will more then likely win.

They had their opportunity to do this when they were working on Trinity. They choose not to and I don't expect they will be revisiting the question. If nothing else, I have found that among game developers, moving from DirectX to OpenGl is worse then pulling teeth, it's a religious war. Unless they have some really laid back developers the only way for CCP to build an OpenGl client would be to hire new people.
Considering they seem to be pretty microsoft technology centeric there, I'm guessing they have drunk too much of the coolaid anyway ;p
