Quantum Rise has as little new stuff as a Lama. It has
1 ship, loads of tweaks. is this a expansion pack? and some new stargates! this is LACK of content! Eve64, Stackless IO and Improved Travel we already have!
CCP do better, this SUCKS! what is in here? tweak? make our UI move around, ok... and this is really useful? not really everyone is used to the on we have! and speed nerf? do a patch for christs sake, youve nerfed before.
Just shows that CCP figured crap we cant boost industry they'll just make more isk so lets make loads of crap so that we dont look stupid by not making anything.
my opinion: most USELESS Expansion pack EVER!

weapon grouping, is a small feature that can be added to a expansion pack and lot let it be a big part of one.

It's free... so they can put as little features into as they like and I'm still happy as it is... free.
If you want glitzy paid for expansions, then there are plenty of MMO's out there ready to take your money for new content. Or rather, grinding an extra 10 levels for "fun".

those certs is nice for corp management, but seriously a big expansion pack? I just think its waste of time calling it a expansion pack! when its basicly small features people will test out in beginning of deployment then it just fades off, its not like it has some loads of ships to mine.

QR is sadly just a bunch of fixes that have mostly been implemented already plus a few shiny things as usual and it's packaged as yet another "free expansion" (biggest ever etc.). From the timing of the announcement I gather that it was a desperate move to prevent some players from cancelling their accounts because they saw the effect of the ghost training nerf / speed nerf.
TBH, one can't blame an icelandic company for being desperate and doing things in a very economic way at this time ...

You are moaning because CCP roll out fixes and improvememnts as soon as they can?? "Eve64, Stackless IO and Improved Travel we already have! " <--Does this mean you think CCP should put all this stuff in a box and only release it when there is an expansion pack rather than as soon as they can?
If so you're just kinda weird

no but calling a patch that came out 1+- month ago for a part of a expansion pack is kinda crap.

Edited by: Amy Wang on 04/11/2008 12:49:30 Am I the only one who thinks that it is especially sad that they did not manage to include the long overdue Black Ops fixes in QR? Especially since the speed changes incorporated in this expansion are an effective nerf for small gang warfare and could have really profited from it.

Module Recharge Timers > Weapon Grouping. But I like 'em both.
Those timers (can) have quite a big impact in PvP. With a bit of good timing you can swap around ewar and scrambles to lock down more targets than you could before. Well, you could, but using a stopwatch or counting time wasn't easymode. *coughs 4 lazy me*

Damn CCP for putting out yet another free expansion and continuing to update and balance their already awesome game.

We pay something like 168 ish a year with the expectation of getting a decent amount of new content. Part of the point of MMORPG is you pay monthly and get new content. This year has been appalling as far as new content has gone far worse than any other year. Not to mention this and the last expansion are not real expansions. The older content patchÆs feel bigger then this so called expansion. Basically CCP have scrapped the real expansions then gone and called the regular small content patchÆs expansionÆs.
This is a real poor move by CCP. They seem to be going down the path of giveing use less and less.

I seriously hope the new stargates isn't the only graphics update CCP has managed to do. Stargates were fine. Give us proper planets! I'm tired of flying among tiny dustballs.
I want views like THIS when I am in space. That would lead to a sudden need of new shorts. ---

Edited by: Dipluz on 04/11/2008 13:09:48 This game aint free at all, just beacuse their add onns ( this case they call expansion pack this time) is free dosent mean you dont pay for it through subscription!
Dont forget that when CCP started with EVE, taking money for each expansion would defiantly not ensure they big growth eve has today if they decided to take money for each expansion.

What's the "we"? You might — I don't. I pay (as little as possible) to play. If what I pay is enough to fund further development and additions, then yay.

Silly fools. You have any idea how hard it is and how much work it is to change your core programming ? I expect that CCP has put more work in this expansdionm by integrating StacklessIO and Eve64 in their core than they put in any previous expansion. Here is an expansion that does not add pretty lights, but actually does something usefull and let the whining commence.
I pity you fools. Pathetic AND sad.

not paying for a mmo means u do a lot of hassle making isk just to play it for free, I dont really care how u "pay" for eve, u pay one way or the other either with time spent on isk farming or with real money.
So ISK or RL Money both is currency even time;)

Then dont call it a expansion pack, beacuse stackless IO and EVE64 is not a expansion to eve. thats the whole point I think you mist read my post. AND comparison to before theyve hired A LOT more people to their company to work on eve (on all subjects) so I think its kinda weird that they couldnt get more content for their game.
p.s it still lags even after eve64 and stackless IO

In fact from the sound of it integrating StacklessIO and Eve64 is no bigger than the other server changeÆs they did. Check out Eve's history in the past the server change's and speed ups did not stop decent amount of new content comeing out.

stackless IO and EVE64 of course ARE an expansion. The fact that it does not add more star systems and toyz and whatnot does not mean the code-base is not growing and improving. By your line of reasoning (EVE having a much higher staff growth ratio than customer growth ratio) you apparently want to pay more :)
P.S. Did I mention your whining is truly epic ? -------------------------------------------------- If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles - Sun Tzu |
