So I ran this complex with my friend the first go around and wasted about 2 hours of time trying to figure out how to work the clock-like acceleration gate (12 gates connected at the end that make a circle clock-like shape). Once we figured out how to get to the right rooms (it is called Maze afterall) we got to a room with a large station and quite a few BS, not many cruisers and a lot of frigates.
The station I am assuming from what I have read shot out an EM Torp (Thor's Torpedo) and does 40,000 EM damage if I am correct. Well this instapopped our Vulture which had 25,000 shield and 80% EM / 80% THM / 80% Kin approximately. If you take 80% of 40,000, the torp ends up being only 8,000 dmg + whatever the rats are doing which is nothing for the Vulture to tank. On top of this we had an Ishtar to deal damage, and a Basilisk to keep the Vulture repped. This Basilisk was able to rep approx 1700 shield every 5 seconds. So in theory the Vulture's shield would be repped up to full within 23 seconds or so.
I don't understand how this would die in one volley. Could someone please help explain to me how this Vulture died so quickly, and secondly what needs to be done to tank that torpedo?

2 friends of mine ran this , and completed it .
One was doing the major dps , the other repping + dps , and they said that plex is a beast .
Supposedly toughest one in Eve .
I'll see if i can get you some vital info and pass it on to you .
Should be tomorrow , providing at least one of them is on when i log in .

Lady - We EFT warrior'ed the Sleip and Claymore and tbh they weren't looking as hawt as the Vulture was. I'm not really sure what to use now after seeing the Vulture which had a lot of shield and 75% + resist across the board pop in an instant

Use an assault frigate with an afterburner, its sig radius is low that the DPS gets really reduced.

Seems like your math is right so no idea why the instapop as long as the vulture's shields were high when the torp hit.
Never done the plex so I don't know if it will work or not, but broadsword is the king of shield tanking em damage and is probably what you will need to have tank. With just 1 em & 1 kin hardener 91.6/70/79.8/62.5 for resists. Complete configuation open to debate and I'll leave that to you.
Also might want to consider a baddon with something like 3em, 1therm, 2kin, dcu (94.9/81.4/88.8/49) with good armor logistics.

this.
have an AF orbit a ship with rep drones following it and include a self repper on the AF.
the only thing that will kill it is a smartbomb type explosion. area effect things like that can still pop the AF.... but aside from that tanks like WHOA. try it.

the plex torp does 180k em damage
allso shoots with capital rails that hurt smaller stuff
your shield extanded vulture had to big sig radius/too litle hitopints
a plated bs with high em resist or a minmitar t2 cruier works best for tank in this plex
or the really skilled ppl dont tank em at all just fit a smartbomb to kill the torps with :P

Those 10/10 stations have a damage multiplier of 100, you do the math with the Thor torpedo. I tanked the Sansha Version of the plex last week two times with a trimarked plated Apoc with 3x EM active hardener. Its a pretty safe thing with 93% EM resist and a big buffer.

citadel torp as far as im aware do 60k em raw damage. ive done this plex twice sucessfully.

dont use battleships at all on this plex you will die.

The best and only way to finish this plex is to have a tanking raven (with some DPS), a command ship repping it (or other ship but command works best) and another DPS ship.

lol? raven must be the most fail ship to tank it with.. unless you use smartbombs to kill the thor torps :P I did it once with 3 phoons, 1 plated disco phoon as tank and 2 remotereping it :P
but the citadel torps are geting a hp buff now :(

Station is a 180k EM torp.
Have successfully tanked with:
Damnation + 3 Guardians (big time overkill)
Phobos + Guardian
Deimos + Guardian
It can quite happily be run by 3 chars provided you swap ships around for the last room. Your tank ship for the last room needs to be as small as possible, HIC or HAC is your best bet, there are webbing towers on the warp in so unsure about an AF's buffer lasting long enough before you can get the logistics on it. I found the plex 2 days in a row in systems next door to each other, very lucrative :)

Completed with :
Plated mega (45k hp) + 2x domi (support + dps)
My second choice would be:
Munin/Claymore (fit a large HP tank) + other stuff (reps + dps - i find the domi playing the role very well).
