My Skills
So I currently fly a Rifter, I have tried to max out all of the Riftery skills. I am nearing the end of my training with skills I can train so I guess. What are some options for my next ship to focus on that would best utilize my training?
I have debated on going with Assault Frigs, Cov Ops, Interceptors. But I think I want something with more fleet PvP gank. Perhaps a nullsec "cruiser" type fit. |

The obvious next step up from a Rifter is a Stabber, Rupture, or Hurricane, since you can happily fit and fly them like a bigger Rifter with more guns. |

But judging from your limited KB, you need to get out there and train your piloting skills, not just your character skills. After you lose a few dozen rifters, the Rupture is a good ship, as is the Hurricane. If you'd rather stay in something small, the assault ships Jaguar and Wolf are awesome upgrades to a Rifter. Don't get cocky though, a well-flown rifter can kill either of its Tech 2 brethren. |

T1 cruisers are mostly cannon fodder for BCs at present (this may change though) so get a Hurricane. Train Battlecruiser to 5 ASAP before the ship rebalancing. So you won't have to train the BC Racials separately later should you want to fly different race BCs (and you will).
Minmatar AFs are not so worth training for as they are now overshadowed by Harpy/Enyo. Frigates are nice, but try out the larger ships for a bit to get some idea of whether you want to scale up or stay with frigates and accept their limitations. You lack one of the best PVP skill: Thermodynamics.
You should focus on that before leaving your rifter for bigger ships. |

I've seen my CEO get tons of kills in his Wolf, most of the time they were larger ships, so If you like solo PvP you could fly one and get some tears. Real Caldari Hull Tank (And Win doing so) Support the EVE Version of Source Recoder! |

wolf is awesome because few people expect up to 300dps from a frigate hull. if it had one more med slot for a webber, it would be better than most cruisers. |

At present, Enyo/Harpy is the shiznit. Wolf is the semi-shiznit missing that tiny bit more shiznitness that would turn it into a full shiznit. CAVEAT RICHARDUS VOLVERE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0 |

Wolf is hella pretty though.
Can someone confirm that this is a viable reason not to fly the Enyo/Harpy? Generic small-time hero-tackle pilot with no relevance. |

Enyo/Harpy are so annoying with so much power with not much drawbacks at all... Good tank, good damage, mid slots for web/cap booster.
Wolf has one tiny niche though. Triple neuts AC fit to neut active tanked frigates. [Wolf, Micro-Bhaalgorn] Damage Control II 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Gyrostabilizer II Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II

Other than that, it is frustrating flying Minnie AFs knowing that they are good but just that small bit behind. CAVEAT RICHARDUS VOLVERE - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0 |

I think the most interest I've had in a Wolf fit so far has been a 10MN AB fit.
Love the Wolf, but the fitting potential baffles the mind. When I can figure something out that I would like to fly, I likely will go ahead and do just that. Generic small-time hero-tackle pilot with no relevance. |

You need to train up your pvp skills asap. Your SP is far above what your Eve skills can handle.
Buy 20 rifters, fit them in at least 4 different ways (no single rifter more expensive than 8m isk) and lose them in pvp fights. Try to get fair fights, but it's not really necessary. Eve Uni should be able to get you those fights. Otherwise join RvB or fly around the astroid belts in Hevrice. You should be able to get your pod out more than 83% of the time.
Next up is the thrasher, jaguar, wolf, stabber or rupture. You'll need to be able to equip a mwd, medium guns and/or drones for them. They fly differently and they'll show you what ways you can fly minmatar. They also have much more expensive and powerful variants.
But first, lose those 20 rifters without losing your pod! |

I'd suggest Dramiel, Stiletto, Cynabal, Hurricane. |

If you are short on isk, don't bother with assault frigate to learn pvp. T1 frigates, destroyers and t1 cruiser are a lot cheaper and provide plenty of opportunities to blow up stuff. |

One CEO I know pulled out a nice tactic of "Hurricane-Only" gang. The fun fact about it is that all of the canes are the same armor meta/t2 fitted with dps differences 250-400 depending on the skills. BUT the enemy never knows which one is the T2 fitted veteran and which one is a rookie! Which adds the survivability since if you'd be flying rupture everyone would kill you first just to decrease the incoming dps. |
