It's optional. Look it up in the dictionary.
What the freakin hades do you care if some other person spends their time in a station?
Please, one logical, intellectual, even remotely senseful reason to WHY NOT.
I'm waiting.
DOn't ask they will just point out that time could of been spent on the game instead of the walking thing.
And then if you say something like "the walking people aren't the same team as the people doing the space stuff"
well lets just say it never ends. |

If WiS is pointless, how far does your head have to be up your ass to consider the rest of the game a totally meaningful experience?
It's entertainment, stupid. |

You were not allowed to take pics/videos in the WiS demo room, however that video is from the WiS presentation.

That is quite likely as that was a generic demonstration of the ambient light engine that they will use in WiS. |

Yeah i know.
Things like "it's not taking away from EVE development" or "it's optional" or even "it only adds and takes nothing away" aren't illogical enough for the anti-wis team |

Did you get to try out the mini-games.
I talked to tohers who tried mini game, as far as I know they only had one in the demo. You controlled your character using a,s,d,w keys. you could also click on something and it would kind of walk over. the demo allowed you to change clothes anywhere you liked, some of the clothes looked great I was playing a female on the demo. I am sure someoen said it had voice changing software built in but I never got to try this in demo. The demo was very buggy, crashed alot but at same time you can see its come along way and is well on its way to being completed. |

btw I wanted to try the mini game but I telported to wrong area and then had trouble leaving my captains quarters :)and then the server started crashing (for everyone in room). I did visit the promensade a bit and it seemed very large.
shame I never got another chance to test it but when I went in I had to wait an hour or so to get in there and missed a lecture I wanted to attend because of it, did not want to risk missing more lectures :) |

I have actually used some pretty decent voice-morphing software. They can certainly produce some strange results, but it is also impressive how effective they can be with the right settings. _______________________________________________ 'The illiterate of this century are not those who cannot read and write; but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.' |

It's kind of sad to see that while CCP has a grand vision for what EVE could be, many of the players don't want it to be anything more than it is right now. -

Right i managed to try the demo twice while i was at fanfest. I think it will be a great way to improve the interaction between players. other than a ship and a chat box. (So impersonal). Control is via wsad keys or clicking via mouse. I found the control system rather clunky and awkward at time, but i took it with a open mind since its Pre Alpha. The station environments and the minmatar bar designs are perfect. I love how ccp are keeping all the races unique. Unfortunately i keeped forgeting about the minigame in the bar so i did not try it my myself. Mainly due to having a laugh at the buggy Exotic Dancer stuck in mid pose or drooling at the detail on the avatars face and cheesy expressions. Oh also changing the other players clothes while they were walking round. (No restrictions in demo)
Also all you whiners and WIS haters out there, dont play it. When you dock in a station you will see your space ship and normal UI as we do now. There will be a button in the toolbar to click on to go to wis. So just ignore it.
Dont be afraid of change. It is a good thing. This game has so much potential to be even bigger and more diverse |

I totally agree. This game could be so much more. From what CCP have planned in future i dont think i actually need another game to play. Especially if we get player combat on planets (Either fps or whatever) |

Originally by: Anig Browl By the way, ever look at the station background while you're docked? Notice those massive interiors, with ships cruising around in the background? Seen any demos of being able to fly your shuttle or whatever around the interior of a station? Or people fighting inside abandoned stations? Seems to me that this would be a natural growth of modeling interiors before designing bars and game rooms...too bad. Oh well, off to train 'Walking', 'Fashion' and 'elevator operation' to level V.
Well, that's a cool idea too, and a separate clearly indicated, to me at any rate, that a lot do want to see more of the bit between pure station and pure space, the docking bay, seeing your own ship and others etc. However, with limited resources since most is developed for WoD, they probably wish to complete a specific segment of ambulation that will provide some allure to go there, and then expand on it. |

More likely planetary vehicle types flown inside, for faster travel if need be.

Why play eve if your not going to fly around in spaceships? Because you can now stand in station and play minigames that you could play in a 100 other MMOs, but alas they will and less and less people will actually want to fight nor care to fight; killing PvP in eve. At least with walking in motherships ill be able to play with the ponies as my mothership explodes. -----

More depth, more immersion as you get to see who YOU are, more interaction with people, realism, isk sinks(good thing in ways), more content, starting platform for new ways to expand EVE, selling point to; gain more players, create more revenue, make EVE more stable, use cash to improve other areas of EVE.
Now please, how about you answer what i asked.
You've just been served a plate of epic by SJ

People who want to spend all their days playing minigames in stations ARE NOT the people who will PVP with you.

If all these people would prefer to play what you yourself claim is an imitation of 'a hundred other MMOGs' than EVE's current gameplay, why are they here right now instead of off playing another MMOG? -

Here's a point;
It's not YOUR game, and it's not a spaceship game. EVE has spaceships, but EVE is a MMO.
