Will there be pics involving t3 ships that got displayed on fanfest.

No. They're ship parts.
You pick nose, tail, guts, top wingy bit from a set of different parts and stick them together, LEGO-wise, to create the final ship. Depending on what parts you pick, you get different stats, fittings, younameit.
They're talking about 5 different sections, 5 variations in each — 3125 combinations total… per race. It may be lowered later due to tech and balance constraints

Basically i think the idea is to have a base structure, say, hull, you then can choose the propulsion you want, and everything else, etc...
So its Spore meets Eve!

From what I've heard you'll be able to change slot layouts, Armor/shield/hull, powergrid and CPU etc..

Fannnnnnnnnnnntastic.
The world, which used to be filled with ships that went through a coherent design process, beautiful ships like the thorax, megathron, raven, rokh, apocalypse, abaddon, incursus, so on, will now be replaced with this.
Randomized incoherent ship parts glued together lego-style, flying around pewpewing. I want to ragequit just because of that. But I'm not going to, because ambulation hits same time.
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic. |

I dont see how that could be a problem. If your a pirate and find someone who has made a layout that cant possibilty work for practical purposes thats an easy kill right there. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

No. The old ships will still be the old ships, with all their little odds, sorts and foibles.
The new ships (or, rather, ship part combinations), however, can be rather unpredictable. You'll probably be able to infer the characteristics from the looks — different parts give different layouts, and these parts can be identified visually.

There's a fine line to draw; On one hand, if the ships are too good, nobody will use any other ships. But on the other hand, if they're too expensive or extremely hard to make, nobody will use them at all. ________________________________

Why incoherent? They are designed to fit together according to a given theme. The caldari ship constellations they showed off all looked very caldari in their design; they all looked coherent in the different layouts.
And why replaced? There's no telling how common these ships will be. Also, given the level of customisation, chances are they'll be far more specialised for their task than the current ships — if you want a do-all kind of setup, there's nothing that says they'll be better (and certainly not cheaper) than what we have.

Yeah well we are all crystal balling here right now. If what the OP said is true this feature wont be out for another 7-9 months, until then im sure the devs will give us enough info to put most minds at ease. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

I have to imagine that each section of the ship would give a different bonus, and have a related PG/CPU and mass. That way you can pick the bonuses that you want and not fly ship where you are only using 2 of the 4 bonuses available.
Question is can you fit a module with frigate bonuses ona cruiser hull (like +5% small hybrid bonus), or can you fit bonus for other races on your hull (+5% to medium projectiles on a gallente hull)

This sounds great TBH. Galactic Civilizations had a ship designer that I spent hours in. I like that sort of stuff.
Any idea of the skill requirements for this sort of thing? I bet they're gonna make us train some sort of scientific/engineering/non-fighty junk.
