We've compiled a list of patches released after Crucible 1.5 ( when the launcher was released ) for those who are having problems with the launcher and/or repairtool
These are not the old style patches, that is if you have client version XXXXXX you can download that and patch to the latest version. This style of patching has seized and there are no current plans of bringing it back since the launcher handles this style of patching for us.
Because of this you will have to download each and every patch from the version you have, i.e. you have version XXXXX1 and the latest version is XXXXX4, you will thus have to download patches XXXXX2 XXXXX3 and XXXXX4 and patch them indivudally and in sequence.
So without further interruptions, here's the list of patches with links to download.

Unfortunately, it suffers from the same bug the launcher does -- it cannot handle being installed on a case-sensitive filesystem.

As a MAC client I feel like we are always second seat. Even when I submit a petition they always refer me to a Windows solution even after posting in the petition that I have a MAC client. It is very frustrating. All month I've played just a hand full of times, my research que has been empty for days now and I'm being charged for time I'm not able to play. As much as I enjoy the game I am a very dissatisfied customer right now! |

But, my launcher (still) works, and i need only the *.patch-variant. Are they downloadable? I think, it's faster to deploy these files, than to compile an executable.

This is being looked into as a possible alternate patching option, we'll hopefully have some more information on this next week when people come back from Easter vacation.

How come the patcher is bugging still ?
I checked some question about the "downloading loop bug" on forums. Nothing seems really clear to fix it.
Permissions, directorys... Cache... Nothing is working.
Are we going to download it manually from this thread? Not whining. This is just unbelivable to patch a working game to a bugged client. Even if there's an alternative solution, that's not a good mechanic.

First of all I'm surprised to find the right forum under the "DEV's" tab after I logged in and NOT in the forums where it should be and where is absolute no response from any DEV.
Now again: EVE Online Launcher v.1.19 is running in the first stepp (Creating EVE_Online_360229-359766.patch) till 50% and than starting downloading 0 MB/240.79 MB. With app. 60% it is breaking up like I mentioned before (see below). Right now nothing helps. I'm truly on the War-Path with launchers like that. There was a small update today after maintenance on Tranquility (2012-04-12) and I hoped it could help with the update (patch) on Singularity. So I made a fresh testserver installation with the Tranquility update from today but unfortunately with same result. In the downloading process (app. 60%) it got same error message:
"An error occured while applying patch, the launcher will now try to apply the patch safely with raised privilages." Than a "Applying patch" message is showing up which pops an other "applyPatch" message which is saying: "Uanable to apply patch It is recomended that you restart your computer and then run the EVE Online launcher again."
I did that several times, all with same result. The launcher doesn't works anymore and the patch script which is "trying to apply the patch safely ...." never worked. Can realy cut it out from the the patch fixing installation process.
I tried to cleanup all catches, deleted all patches in the Singualrity folder, started and updated the repair tool, but all that did not helped. Also opening/starting the launcher as administrator did not work. The launcher is not working anymore.
I had same problem after the Crucible 1.6.3 update with the Tranquility folder, but after rebooting the computer it worked and the launcher could update and load the game, NOT so on Singularity. The most frightening part will be - when the patch is failing on Tranquility - which was already happened after the last update in the beginning of this month. Atleast there the reboot helped and I could continue playing on Tranquility.

The fact that you need to reboot the computer before updating means that there is something on your computer still running or holding on to the EVE process or the Launcher process and preventing you from doing the update properly.
Have you made sure that there is no eve process in the background still running, or perhaps logserver.exe still running. Do you have any other software installed on your machine which could be scanning or holding onto EVE files/resources? It would be helpful if you would send me an evemail with answers to these questions and the launcher.log file and I can look into this a bit more. Well this kind of blows.
I am out of town for a gig on friday, my trusty macbook pro in hand. I downloaded a fresh client last night so I could play eve when I'm not rehearsing or playing and even applied a plex to one of my alts (whom I had let expire during this debacle, missing 10 days of training for mining barge V). And you guys release a patch today, not tuesday, making it so i can't play anymore.
I'm trying to stay calm and polite here but this is really getting annoying. There really should have been a way to manually apply patches for all platforms before this beshitted launcher was deployed, and you all know it.
Is there a timeframe for when I will be able to patch my client on a case-sensitive fs, or at least a way to manually apply it? I don't care if it's greek words on the command line at this point, I just want to be able to play the game I paid for.

The big problem is, if I can't connect to CCPs servers to download the patch via Launcher, I still can't connect to CCPs servers to download these .exe archives.
Since the launcher arrived, patch download has been chaotic. Sometimes I can download them directly from the launcher, sometimes I have to come here in the forums and search for a shared link. Or wait until I don't know when for the launcher to work again. |

THANKS!!! The launcher would install to 25% and then tell me the file is corrupt. I could only play by reinstalling EVE every time it updated. But this got me right into the game!!!!
I only had problems since the new launcher came out and CCP has ignored my petitions. |

Oddly, my repair tool gives me a error sometimes when I attempt to use that. I'm also getting the looping patch update as well, but it says the patch may be unusable or corrupt, Is that a different situation then this or roughly the same? I'm hoping to get on soon because my PLEX is running out and I haven't been able to play the whole month of it basically cause of these patching issues.. |

Regarding the launcher problem - I don't recall the exact conditions from the beginning of the month, when it occured on Tranquility. The only EVE-related program I have running too with EVE is EVEMon. The main problem is, that the launcher breaks when it is actually downloading and NOT updating. While the download breaks it is trying than with the fragmented download to update which is questionable. When I had rebooted my computer with the tranquility problem I remember that the dwonload had started again but finished it and could than update.
Since the problem still now exists for Singularity (since 2012-04-12) I have tried many things. I had also suspected that anything else (program like EVEMon) could disturb the updating process - for this I had started the update direct after rebooting - without starting anything else than the EVE launcher. Did not help too. I have now a partialy downloaded patchfile in the EVE-directory (EVE_Online_360229-359766.patch) which has 69977 KB. Any attempt to continue (restarting the launcher) is failing. Deleting the Singularity folder and installing complete new (copying the present Tranquility folder - from 2012-04-12 after maintenance) to the Singularity folder) also doesn't helps. The download breaks up after app. 60% progress (this doesn't means that 60% of the +240 MB are downloaded - it is only the "Progressbar"which is showing 60%). The EVE Online Launcher v.1.19 is running in the first stepp (Creating EVE_Online_360229-359766.patch) till 50% and than starting downloading 0 MB/240.79 MB and than breaking up in this step at app. 60%.
I have also tried to start the launcher with the running "LogServer.exe" but this is not working. Obviously is the LogServer program only connected with the main client - not the launcher. There is no launcher.log file in the Singularity folder. The launcher is setup for "Send error and usage logs to CCP" and always does when it is failing. There should be something send to CCP.
An other program which is contiously running is my AntiVirus program, but this was also running when I had rebooted the computer with the Tranquility problem and successful updated. But anyhow I'm right now trying again to update while the AntiVirus programm is disabled and EVEMon not running. Generally if there occurs anything danger for the operating system my AntiVirus program is popping up with a related messagge, but have not gotten anything while I tried to update. An other program which I'm always using while waiting for download is MS Excell - this is also not running now with my new attempt to update. Damn - Gateway from my provider is down after 76% progress! Gateway is back - atleast the "resume function of the launcher is working fine"! :)
Sh#-:$%& same problem after 140MB download. Same moment when the updating process broke my AntiVirus program poped a message which is telling that it is not running. (coexistence??) Rebooting now. The partialy downloaded patchfile in the EVE-directory (EVE_Online_360229-359766.patch) has now 177240 KB. Have exited the AntiVirus program now. Restarting now the update. Have not watched for a while - now the launcher is in step 2 - applying EVE_Online_360229-359766.patch while the full download is not finished!!?? I realy can't tell. In my download meter is a sudden download jump with plus 400% increased bandwidth. (My normal internet speed is 48kB/s but had my provider requested to increase the bandwidth for this download (got 80kB/s). Have now idea how it jump to 350kB/s. I had the Explorer open and had opened a internet page - sometimes the browser is doing that. The high speed download lasted app. 70 sec.! After 100% of step 2 the updating launcher software jumps over the step 3 and the "PLAY"-button appeared. :) Starting the client and the client software is updating. Closing everything and restarting the AntiVirus software. Restarting launcher - client is starting and acquiring bulk datas. Game is starting - everything looks ok now! After maintenance from 2012-04-13 the update broke again. I repeated same steps from my rebooting discribed above and could finish the update.

The launcher failed again today (2012-04-16) and I was distraced with a phonecall - had restarted the launcher (after rebooting) while the Antivirus program (Kaserpsky) was still running and the launcher failed twice again. After the third reboot I "exited the Antivirus program" and the launcher could finished its job. Seems definitive des Antivirus program which is causing the trouble "silently". Also exiting the Antivirus program and other programs like EVEMon before an update doesn't work. The launcher will still fail. Only after a reboot with Antivirus "exited" and nothing else started the launcher is successful.

Oh my god, this patch has destroyed my installation of Eve. I was experiencing exactly the same issues as Tychoon above was, but even after trying what he did, I am now stuck with completely broken Eve installations across three identical PCs.
Current status: The launcher starts up, says it's ready, then gives me the Escalation splash screen, and then the client closes.
Awesome job, guys!

So I in a big hope attempted to run Repair Tool to see if there is not a fault there. However the repair failed. Now I get Launcher saying the game is ready and when I hit play I get the splash screen and the game won't start... "Throw the rules out the window, odds are you'll go that way too." |

what's next? This can occur when the Launcher itself is corrupt, however that might happen. Navigate to the launcher\cache folder and try running the updater.exe. This should download an installer for the Launcher, which you simply need to point to your EVE installation directory. Software Engineer, Core Infrastructure, Team Special Circumstances |

I am about getting TIRED of this Game ! I have played it for a long time and spent considierable amount of time on it ... but it is a great TIME WASTER and playing EVE wont bring You far in REAL LIFE !

Confirmed. With ESET enabled the launcher failed, and the repair tool failed. The repair tool went through it 7 steps several times before giving a failure. I tried disabling just the AV, but the repair tool still failed. Then I read Clart's post (thanks Clart!), and tried disabling both the AV and Firewall, then the repair tool worked. The game now launches.

We all know that patch day has bugs. What we did not expect was the game failing to load.... Tengu flying backwards, cans not anchored, orca bays not visible... but game failing to launch?
Anyways, shut down the AV (ESET) and firewall, grabbed the patch from page 1 on this thread, installed and launched from the eve.exe like directions said.
awesome fix.

I was having issues completing the patch the day it was released. I ran the repair tool about 20 times give or take but go figure, the moment I open up the "submit petition" page I figured I'd give the repair tool one more try and low and behold it actually worked. I don't know if this will help at all but it seemed like every time the repair tool ran the download remaining got smaller and smaller until it was running through all the steps very quickly until timing out. The last time when it "worked" it ripped through everything pretty quick and said I was good to go. Been connecting and playing since with no noticed problems as of yet. This was through a windows 7 machine though, no real suggestions or ideas as far as Macs go. |

Full reinstall necessary for a minor patch. Launcher is garbage - not only corrupted my Eve client install, it corrupted itself as well. Repair tool did a wonderful job listing how many blocks were missing from a huge number of files, and then erroring out every attempt to fix those problems. Though it was fun watching the Newtonian approximation method the repair tool seemed to apply to each subsequent pass.
At one point there was this glorious idea of actually testing the patch process within CCP before foisting this crap on to the user base. It would appear that maybe this idea should be brought up again, and possibly even staffed and implemented.
It might be even smarter to take this glorious reality changing idea of testing patches and link it to a bludgeoning every time a patch fails. I for one look forward to YouTube videos of developers being run through a gauntlet of club wielding users whenever they screw things up this bad. |

I second that. Being on Linux (Ubuntu) since i started playing EVE (actually that it was available for Linux was one strong reason for me to start in the first place) I have to upgrade 10 clients which takes anything between 1 hour and 3 hours depending on the volume. I have to switch libraries form built-in, native to native, build-in every time the launcher needs to run and back when the update is done.
And since the patch yesterday my clients crash again for no reason.
above all to the side...i still love this game

Linux users had to use windows client, not a native one.
Someone has already suggested in this forum to add a checkbox into Eve client to let linux users actually show themselves and be counted properly. OpenSUSE 12.1, wine 1.5 |

hi, before yesterdays patch I had downloaded the payload files with serial "360229".
I then downloaded the zip from this thread to patch from 360229 to the latest patch.
note this is fresh install on my old desktop. on my laptop it works fine.
Starts off with "(1/7 Downloading index: initializing...)"
And about 30 seconds later it changes that heading to "cantresolveurl"
Suggests I should run the repair tool, but when I do so it brings about an error box saying "repair.exe.log" will give more info. I cont find that log at the path it says it should be.
any help will be appreciated |

Didn't bother reading this whole thread, however.. yes i too had a problem with the download/patch some sort of failure with a message about it retrying with admin priviledges or something along those lines... I just used the repair tool from the launcher screen, it dowloaded the files and did the update to my client.

Launcher as always couldn't run by itself, because of asking for administrator privileges. So had to run it manually, at which point it always crashed at around step 3/7... It just closed and said nothing.
Repair tool worked though.
This updating process is horrible. |

Everyone's game running environment is different. It means nothing while you have no problem but others suffered a lot.

1) Click this link to download the new patch (365966): http://cdn1.eveonline.com/365966/EVE_Online_365434-365966_win.zip
2) Unzip the file, and move the patch to your desktop (or any other easily accessible location)
3) Open the Launcher and click the Setting icon (upper right hand corner), select Patches>Import>Select the patch you just downloaded, click open and then OK; it will update automatically.

I never had any problems with the launcher or with my client until this latest patch. Here's what happened:
The launcher kept crashing before fully downloading the patch. I came here and found instructions for manually applying the patch. After following the instructions, the launcher would say it was ready and I would click "play". It flashes the Inferno screen and then crashes. I ran the repair tool several times but each time it keeps trying to go through the seven steps and eventually gives me a "failed" message and I think it said something like "too many tries." I disabled my ESET antivirus and firewall protection as someone else said they did here successfully. I tried to run the launcher but it crashed. I ran the repair tool again, but had the same situation as before. I now have not been able to play the game for more than two straight days. I'm continuing to read this thread, but please advise a course of action. |

My opinion of your technical support has been really lessened. Let's just say I will not be recommending this game to my friends.
FYI -- computer products 101 -- make the product as easy as possible for users to utilize or they simply won't use it, which inevitably leads to a loss of business/revenue/and profit.
God help you if a more efficient and technically-sound developer ever comes up with a competing sandbox-style MMO.

it is still using the same re-run repair till it fixes approach. it seems in my case, i had to upgrade ATI drivers and direct-X.
never used any launcher, launcher seems to be unfixing the program ...

For the last 3-4 months every patch has involved running repair.exe many many times, until I found out that the online server status page provided patches that worked.
But now CCP have altered that so it doesn't link to patches and I'm back to running repair multiple times.
Ever since the new launcher was introduced patching Eve has become a continual nightmare that puts me off ever bothering with the game.
Do CCP care, no they don't... especially when you see them cutting off the only workaround that was available. |

I've downloaded the patch, but as I mentioned on the previous page, my launcher spits out an exception and quits before it gets to a point where it sees and applies the patch file.

I find the launcher and patching experience extremely poor, I have not been able to play the game for several days now.
Every time you patch the game it takes days to navigate the issues with the patcher and launcher failures.
From the customer experience perspective this is very negative.
In my view the previous method of patching was less of an issue from a customer perspective.
Other games have launchers and patching methods that do not have these continual issues and this I find very poor on your part to introduce something as unstable as this and not resolve the issues quickly.
I will try further today but I shall cease to subscribe to your game if I cannot resolve it today as I am spenidng more time patching and navigating patcher technical issues than actually playing at the moment so I'll spend my limited leisure time on something fun instead.
Basically this is terrible customer service.

If i can help devs about what happens and player which are in trouble, the trouble is got and how it was solved :
launched the launcher, got the blue bar showing launcher update then nothing : tried to run again launcher but nothing, this one start and go down in like 2 or 3 seconds without nothing showing at screen.
Thought my launcher was ****** and then ran repair tool : i got a ~230 mega patch which was installed by repair tool. Then again tried to launch launcher and like before nothing happened : exactly same trouble.
Spoke to some mate which said to me, to try use ccp/eve/bin/exefile.exe instead ccp/eve/eve.exe to launch the game : and that worked like a charm launcher run fine, game was patched (prolly by repair tool). So now i'll always use ccp/eve/bin/exefile.exe to run the game.
I'm under Win 7 64bit.

Not my intention to hijack the thread or anything with this, but since this is the apparent thread for all issues that are EVE Launcher I thought it'd be appropriate just to keep here.
I did a little bit of research over the past day or two, and since the EVE Launcher was causing me so many problems, I just went and made my own damn launcher and patcher GUI. Although its not as pretty as the official launcher, I figure since it seems to consistently patch things right I'd share it with everyone. While it works right for me, your mileage my vary and I imply no warranty of any kind to its reliability (it shouldn't brick your client, but if it does, its your risk to take).
That said, it should automatically check for client updates and if it does see an update available it will notify you, and with a single click automate the process of installing said update.

Download includes source code and binaries. Notable caveats are that everything is English only, it pulls its patches from the same links you see in the original post for this thread so it might not be able to patch the client right away, it doesn't support the Mac version, and it only patches the client (not the launcher). It *should* run natively on non-Windows platforms with Mono, but I can't say for sure as it will depend on the environment.
But hopefully the official launcher will be fixed up soon enough, so this won't be necessary in the future.
EDIT: Updating the virus total and download links because I noticed a weird threading bug. EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that its a .NET application. You'll need either .NET Framework 4.0 or Mono 2.8.x (Mono is a bit iffy, though). |

The only problem I am facing here in SE Asia is the Download Speed for the Patch. File Size is 300MB but I am downloading since a few hours and just finish 5.8%. All other kind of downloads I do is fast - so this can rule out. I doubt there is a Mirror here available. |

I really getting very irritated and disappointed, every new patch you ccp release i have to reinstall the game, i get to log in at work, now when i reach home i am facing the issue of not able to launch the launcher and keep getting the cmd window pop out and disappearing in 0.5 sec saything this "The program is too big for the memory" what is this??? really please explain, my laptop with 2gb of ram is able to dl the patch with some issue but at the end of the day i get it done........
do i really need to uninstall the game and dl the lastest client to play this game????? ever since the patch at 24th apr, i guess everyone is facing the issue of wasting time in this forum looking for ways to fix the issue...... we pay to play the game and not pay to fix issues...... So may i know we will get some kind of extension for all these issues cause by the release of the new patch????
Please stop releasing patches to fix issue when it will cause even more problem for people.... If you really want to release it, get your server image ready to bring it back to what it was before it cause more problem at least people will not spend more den 3 hours trying to fix and play the game.... |

well I was one of the few it seemed that was having only minor problems with the launcher but could get Repair to work when I manually run it. Now I get nothing it seems to uninstall and reinstall itself between Repair and trying to run the game and still not getting the actual patch. I am getting Tired of this fight and am seriously debating taking my 2 accounts and several friends that are having issues and moving on to another game that we might all enjoy that hopefully wont fail as much as CCP seems to be recently. |

You guys are lucky to get anything with your launcher. Mine seems to have forgotten how to connect to CCP's servers. With a FRESH OS install (no firewalls active) and absolutely no Anti-virus programs or blockers of any kind.
Now we pay for a service that we can't use. Compensation should be in line for everyone. It's because of CCP's programing that keeps us from playing the game that we paid for. I feel bad for the people who have slower internet to suffer through this garbage. I hope someone loses their job for this.
Just what I wanted to do...come home and re-download the game to play. Almost 2 hours shot every time there's a patch that the launcher can't do anything about. Extensive testing should have been done before introduction to the public of ANY patch. I'm about to pull my account because of this. What's the point of paying for a game that I have to re-download 2 hours a day every damn day?!
EDIT: and I do have to do this on multiple machines. FML |

But starting the Launcher, I get a "cannot connect to server" error, apparently before it even tries to work with the patches that are sitting right there. (I can't solve the connection problem due to proxy issues, which is why I need the manual-patch workaround in the first place.) |

try to by pass the "launcher" with /bin exefile.exe... Yeah i can download it after some retry... but when the client inform me that it gonna be rebooted to patch, the launcher get launched

Here's a workaround that works on my Mac. It may be worth a try on Windows.
I update my real client.
I then make a clone of it using the Clonemaker - link here http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Multiple_clients. This puts links for everything except the info.plist file, that point at the real client, in the first level of the application folder. The info.plist is apparently the buried one, not the one you will see on the first level.
I change the bundle name and prefs folder name to match the prefs folder I want to use, then I start that clone. It skips the launcher and starts Eve on my desired prefs folder. Both names have to be changed for this to work.
Note - at no time do I ever run my "real" client, because when I change the name of the prefs folder, the launcher downloads and "installs" a patch file that has a name like "Eve_Online_123456_to_123456.patch" - it is trying to patch from and to the same version! I am not surprised that it will not work. Anyone stupid enough to program in a patching system like that, could not be trusted to develop a working program.
On my Mac, the launcher is the problem. Skip the launcher, and Eve will run just fine.
It is possible you can do this on Windows.

Hi, still have a problem with the latest patch, tried everything suggested and nothing works. But then I really don't understand most of the IT language, so it could well be me. Been in Eve for 5 yrs- never a patch problem now I have been locked out for almost a week. Last night decided to unistall eve and reload from start...will take 3 days to get back up and running if I'm lucky
If anybody from CCP is reading this then can you stop worrying about new graphic s or ship design and get back to making this environment work every time for everybody. And just to keep you real refund everybody 1 months game credit for the frustration and stress you are causing........ I don't understand this... An antivirus company try it's best to release updates and patches that don't crash the client. Thiis, is done for 30-40$ a year. When something happens, the support is prompt. CCP's support, for a software that costs only 180 EUR a year, not even that is failing at patching/updating, but it offers limited support. I kind of feel that is a privilege to play, not that i'm a paying customer.... |

Automatic patching failed again. The repair tool failed again. The manual patch failed as well - again the same story. An error occured [...] and it will try [...] with raised privileges. The thing is I run all these things with admin privileges (in Windows XP except for normal playing). Should I log on to that account instead?
Except it doesn't work either. The client is "Ready", the process exefile.exe is there... but nothing happens. Yes, I waited long enough to be sure.

I have just updated the launcher on Singularity (test server), it includes a fix for these download issues i have been trying to track down for a while now. If it turns out the issue with the launcher patching is resolved then i will update the Tranquility launcher tomorrow after it has been tested properly on Singularity.
For those who are still experiencing patching problems with the Tranquility launcher, you can try installing the singularity launcher.

Come guys, lets be absolutely honest.. the launcher is a miserable failure at this point in time. I'm sure there's more people that don't have a problem with it, than do.. but when we do have a problem with the launcher, its a big arse problem that takes forever to figure out.
We understand what you're trying to do, but it just does not work as well as it should. Just let it die and bring back the old patching method.
Also, who do I send in my launcher's error report to? |

Today was my first launcher failure ever. I fixed mine as detailed below:
I went into Windows Firewall (for those of you using Windows) and added launcher.exe as an allowed program. Launcher worked after that. Seems this last update changed enough that Windows didn't recognize it and blocked it's internet access by default.
As part of my debug I saw a 404 file not found error. If you're not seeing that then the Windows Firewall trick may not work for you. |

So when I run Evefile, the login window tells me that I am running "Version 7.41.377452". That is the information displayed in the top left corner of the log in window. How exactly does that tell me which of the following patches to download and install?
Note that all of the patches identify 377452.

In the top left corner of the EVE log in window you'll see the currently installed client version. From that you can determine which patch you need to download.
1. Download and open the zip file 2. Copy the .patch file into the EVE Online client folder, usually that would be C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE 3. Run the launcher and it'll do the rest for you automatically.

Need help here. Client fail to "automatically" update itself. Current client version: 7.40.369870 Win7 64bit
List of what have been done:

2. Both *.patch files extracted and copied/moved into EVE folder
3. Now, by right the launcher "will do the rest" to update the client automatically, but meh.. far from it. What it does is "validating" the client with no progress whatsoever but it seems it's downloading (extra patches?) stuff again. Wouldn't mind much but it takes forever.. (How big is the total patch is anyway??)
4. So I ran the repair tool, took a while for it to analyze the client and after that it went on downloading "patch", of size 961MB! I can only assume it's downloading the whole patch again (369870-377452).
Come on, didn't I download them patches already? And both already extracted into the main folder. Is the launcher so "blind" that it fails to detect the new patch files?? Tried running the ExeFile.exe manually again and version remains unchanged.
Had this almost-similar problem before but somehow I fixed it but not this time. Seriously, never had any problem with manual patching before. And I do agree with others that this whole patching through launcher just full of fail tbh... And now the manual method also failing cause of it..
I've never post in forum before and now I am forced to do so cause of this annoying problem. Skill Q done in 5hrs.. Urgent fix needed.

Tried extracting just the first (1 gig) patch and launching. Still tries to re-download the whole 'combined' patch. :S
Do you guys have a tool to merge two .patch files together? Because I really don't want to re-download the whole 1.1gig on this connection. |

Here's what worked for me:
did dl http://content.eveonline.com/377452/EVE_Online_369870-377452_win.zip (thx Adellay for the Links)
extracted to the patch-import/export folder
imported that specific patch version via launcher
launcher said, yup, got it, going to dl that thing
i was like: oh no! dont! i got it here on my hd!
checked what the launcher tried to dl, was EVE_Online_369870-377452_win.zip thingy (ofc, cause i told him to .. :rolleyes: )
checked what the patch was exactly called in the main Eve folder (EVE_Online_369870-377452_win.zip.download)
so therefore i just copied the archive to the mainfolder, renamed it from XXXXXXX_win.zip to XXXXXXX_win.zip.download and everything worked out.
Both Launcher and me were happy

Never mind. Fixed it already. As always, users tend to finally fix their problems on their own before any GM to even try to come with any useful solution. Not that it's anything new..
Anyway, to those who might have the same problem, here's what I did:
1. Changed my user account control to 'never notify' level. Restarted my laptop.
2. Changed my EVE main folder security options so that *every* users have full control.
3. Assuming that the patch the launcher try to re-download again is the same 369870-377452 (~974MB), renamed the patch file I have 369870-376700 to 369870-377452 instead (notice the difference).
4. Ran the launcher (+admin privilege) again, and only then it started to validate the client "properly" with some progress. Then applying the patch (twice, 2nd for 376700-377452 patch). Only then I finally able to log in into EVE.
Now, I can only assume it was mainly caused by typo error in naming the patch file during initial release (since now the 974MB patch is named 369870-377452).
Note: not sure if step 1 and 2 was any help at all but step 3 solved this whole problem for sure.

Assuming you really have the same problem as mine, then simply try renaming your patch like I did in step 3. And the guy above me apparently found the solution as well.

The repair.exe fixed it finally after about the 3rd try.
But thanks for the patch rename trick. Didn't think to try that. I'm pretty sure that'll be quite useful in the future and would have saved me quite a few re-downloads.
It's almost as if we have to play this mini-game where we have to try to trick the launcher into letting us play, each time there's a big patch  |

Sometimes the launcher download such patch file where the version name is inversed.. e.g: EVE_Online_364755-360229.patch , 425MB, 1st Inferno patch iirc..(notice the similarity with your patch version)
Alternatively, it is always safer and better to download the patch manually (refer to page 1) to avoid such situation. Be careful though, cuz there might be some typo error in the naming of the patch file that will make your situation worse.. 
But if you already have the 3 patch files in your EVE folder, try rename them like these (if they're different):
the 1GB patch file to "EVE_Online_369870-377452_win.patch" the 21 MB patch file to "EVE_Online_376700-377452_win.patch" the 14MB patch file to "EVE_Online_377452-377968_win.patch"
By right, the launcher will be able to recognize the patch files and applying them correctly.

The patches contain a series of changes that must be applied to files in your installs, and what you're doing by renaming them is to trick the launcher into thinking it's up-to-date when in fact you're actually missing the latest bunch of fixes.
This could lead to anything from crashes of the game, to missing ship assets, corrupted graphics and all manner of strange behaviour.
I understand why you're doing it though; the Launcher fails and so you download the offline patches, in the hope that the Launcher can be told to apply them, Unfortunately this isn't the case. Yup, I was aware of the possible consequences of renaming the patches. Hence I always have a backup folders for changes I made. And if you refer to my posts, the renaming was necessary since it was (most likely) a typo on the patch name during initial release. So, I renamed 1 of them in order to force the launcher to recognize that the patch is already there in EVE folder.
Besides, it was under assumption that it was the same patch the launcher was trying to download again based on their size. And repair tool reports no missing stuff after that anyway. 
Wouldn't have done it if the launcher was working in the first place. Perhaps make the launcher to able to recognize all *.patch files based on their actual size, MD5 checksum, etc.. (regardless of their different names). Worry not, maybe I won't need to do that again now that I realized that the launcher actually has export function to 'force' it to recognize patch files properly.
Note to others: So the renaming trick is NOT recommended, especially if you're not sure which patch file is the correct one to be renamed. If everything else fails and you try it anyway, always check your client with repair tool to ensure nothing is missing. |

Would it be possible to create somewhere a running list of patches when they are applied, e.g. an evelopedia page with a 2-column list of the form: [date] [patch-number]
I've used up enough of my own time patching, so would like to wait until things "stabilize" (for instance, more than 72 hours without a patch) before I bother again. At that point I may just download the full client to avoid this hassle. But I don't want to do it every day. So a list letting me know how often patches are appearing would be very helpful.
I hope the new launcher is very helpful to your internal processes at CCP, because from the end-user perspective it's really pretty disappointing how fragile the whole process has become. |

Just here giving tips to help others that might have the same problem but you're welcome! 
Anyway, I mentioned MD5 mainly cuz I know of other MMOs where their launchers use MD5s to verify the integrity of client files. If there are files found to be corrupted or missing then the launcher will download whatever files needed and then 'patch' whatever files needed to be patched.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me the patching will modify the corrupted files into a 'proper' one. Maybe taking out bits of corrupted ones and 'integrate' the old usable bits with the new ones. Not that I know how it actually works but in the end the clients will end up having identical files, as in name, MD5, actual size etc.. (mainly core ones, with exceptions such as user config files usually differ).
Perhaps use the same way of patching? Maybe not exactly as how they do it but main point is to make everyone's installs 'identical'. And the launcher will have no problem in recognizing patch files. May be a whole different way of patching but perhaps will be worthwhile in the long run. Just a suggestion though. 
In the meantime, try having some consistency with the patch names (the ones that launcher downloads and the ones for manual patching). That way, at least the launcher will download same patch name with the manual one to avoid confusion among players and the launcher itself.  |

Have you tried running the repairtool in Administrator mode to see if that solves the issue for you, simply right click on repair.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'

Permission Denied errors are usually thrown when a process is holding onto a file and thus stopping the EVE Repair Tool or EVE Launcher from updating/fixing/modifying the file. If you haven't already, please ensure that there are no running ExeFile.exe, eve.exe or launcher.exe processes locking the file.

Also not able to use the reply to post a full report with error messages, can only use the quick reply which doesn't allow me to fully paste the repair.exe log content. Offline download says my files are corrupt. The regular installer that download the install files also get corrupt files. I'm a sad panda right now. |

Almost the same here. Only my launcher works fine (after manual tweaking).
Downloaded 381448 manually, extracted to EVE folder, launcher couldn't detect the patch (again!) and went on validating the client (???). So I 'forced' the launcher to apply the patch (import) function. Launcher successfully applied the patch.
Hit play, version 7.41.381448. Client prompting about "Inferno 1.0.6 client update #1", went on downloading the patch (~5.8MB iirc, which for whatever reason doesn't show as different patch on EVE folder). Client auto restart, version became 7.41.381794 (381448). With launcher working as intended.

Same problem, except I can't successfully download that last "~5.8MB" patch. It gets stuck at "Downloading Update." I'm at 3811448, not 381794 (381448). Is there a manual download for 381794? |

Yeah this is really starting to get "old" very fast. Lots of promises to sort out these problems with no actual solutions. I have tried every "solution" CCP has offered only to have to uninstall and re-install my game at the end of the day.
In the mean time I lose time in training skills because they run out while I attempt to sort out CCP's messy patches for a game I pay for.

My problem is not re-installing - My problem is downloading the whole bloody app again. I am paying per MB that I use and this will be the 6th time in two months I have to download the whole think!!! This is way to expensive to keep playing!

Yeah I forgot to mention that I also have to download the whole freakn thing. We pay a huge amount of money for cap in South Africa, wonder if CCP will be refunding me for the money and hours lost sitting here downloading and re-downloading the damn client over and over again because half the time the downloaded file is "corrupted". |

my launcher seems to be downloading patches and installing them ok
but! as soon as there is a client update - it breaks. the launcher doesn't report any changes, but when the client starts it tells me there is a new client update (- Inferno 1.0.9 client update #2) being the latest one. when i tell it to install it, it downloads the update and then tells me it's unable to apply it. when i login it tries to download it again, and fails to apply again.
so every time i open a client i have this window pop up twice which i have to close. once a proper patch is released it goes away... until the next client update.
CCP could you please stop doing client updates and release normal patches?

Apparently there's no link for 369870-384443 patch for windows..
But you can still solve this by downloading: 1. 369870-379356 patch, http://content.eveonline.com/379356/EVE_Online_369870-379356_win.zip (~974MB) 2. 379356-384443 patch, http://content.eveonline.com/384443/EVE_Online_379356-384443_win.zip (~18MB)
Since the 1st patch is ~1GB, I recommend downloading it using download manager (like FDM or IDM) to prevent data downloaded become corrupted. Extract both files into EVE folder. If launcher fail to detect it, 'force' it using import function. Should be working fine. |

Then perhaps it's something to do with your launcher not working 'properly' for some reason. (Not that the launcher is working properly as it is, but at least it's 'working' recently.. ).
Regarding the launcher ignoring the imported patch, had that before. (Quite persistent ain't it?) So I had to 'force' it further to apply the patch. Can't really remember the exact way how I did it but assuming your launcher is up-to-date (v1.32) and the patches you downloaded are not corrupted, then try this:
1. Launch the launcher. (PC connected to Internet). Wait for a while. 2. Once it come to the state of either "validating 0%" or "downloading xxx-xxx.patch", just ignore it. 3. Now, disconnect your PC from Internet. That is, pull the LAN plug or disconnect from current wireless AP. (I know.. but it had to be done!) 4. Launcher will prompt about error etc. Now, try the import function again. Hopefully, it will apply the patch correctly. 5. Repeat 1-4 for 2nd patch.
After both patch already applied, then run the launcher again. Let me know if it works. |

Tried that,negative.Even though the net was disconnected it was still trying to crete patch 369870-384443 even after the import of the 1st patch (the 369870 to the intermediate version one). I took severe measures after that by hard formating and re-installing windows going from 64 to 32 bit.Still it didn't work.Now I am downloading the whole client again (3rd time in the last week) and I will try to run the game skipping the launcher.If this does not work again,I am afraid a pilot's life has ended.It's just frustrating! |

Well,at last I was able to run EVE by hard formating to 32 bit version of windows 7,then downloading and installing the client before everything else and even then,I had to check the "run as administrator" and "compatibility mode - windows XP service pack 3" settings. I am not sure if this will make it for long,but I really thank you v3nd3tt4 for all your precious help. |

We have had some reports that players are unable to apply the .patch files as the launcher will start and then close when it can not connect to the content delivery server, thus players can not access the 'Settings' window or the 'Import' patch button.
If this happens then you can download the .patch file from the links on the first page of this thread and then follow the instructions below to force the client to apply the patch:
1.Download the patch and put it into the launcher folder of the client 2.Rename the patch file to something simple to re-type such as GGone.patchGGV 3.Open a window to the launcher folder and copy the command line for example : C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\launcher 4.Press the windows key + R and paste the command line and add to it GG\applyPatch one.patchGGV example : C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\launcher\ applyPatch one.patch 5.Once you press the Enter key the patch will be applied
Please make sure to only apply the patch which is relevant to your client version.

It dont help you keep telling us "how to do" all this **** BUT it takes aaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssss for you guys to upload the files? why cant it just be uploaded at the same time the few other people can get it from the client updates ie at dt time? |

Yep same here, I've had the same issue on the majority of the patch's since the new launcher came out.
Either its corrupt or it fails or something else along those lines, it's start to get really annoying where I normally have to wait for someone else to upload and then manually patch the patch as you now no longer supply the manual patches anymore.

I don't even get that far. 65% patched before I get the corrupted status.
EDIT: I retract the above statement. I'm on my 3rd attempt to install the patch, and now it hangs at 50% before saying "LOLNOPE CORRUPTED". |

Another patch, another day that I can't play EVE. Great success CCP ! Great success! I am baffled at how incompetent your QA team can be and how such a ****** "feature" as this stupid launcher passed into live environment.
You give us manual patches and links and crap like that when you were supposed to deliver a functional patching tool?? You're the SINGLE MMO out of the 50+ I've played that has this issue!! I played F2P games made by a handful of students and they still managed to provide updates flawlessly!! |

CCP I'm really trying to enjoy this wonderful game, but everytime you release a patch the automatic downloads ALL fail, the repair tool just freezes and fails the download so all I can do is wait for a manual download.
Please try and improve this in the future it's the first time I've ever had problem with a launcher..

I removed the entire folder yesterday and installed the full client again, without downloading the newest one. This time it upgraded successfully but today, after the 1.1.2 had been deployed, it failed near the end, as usually.

Then the client wasn't able to upgrade itself even with raised privileges but I could still apply the manual patching method. This time I can't, it simply doesn't work, because I have to use that damn launcher.
Please, give us, instead of those "manual" patches which require to be copied to the game folder and don't make a difference, traditional .exe files to run, at least for the time being. |

I had this exact problem. I launched ExeFile.exe located in the /bin/ folder of the EVE install and it worked fine. For some reason, my launcher thought my client was still out of date even though it wasn't.
However, I am still incapable of patching the client via the launcher because it insists on stopping any downloads just a few percentage points prior to completion. |

So I've been away for 2 weeks and try to update to the latest version.
Launcher fails 3 times having downloaded 2GB of data in 3 separate hits.
Thinking a manual patch is in order I come to this thread only to find that the version I'm on (384443) doesn't have a link. Not even a link to a more recent but not quite up to date patch that the launcher could then do a 30 MB patch from to get a current client.
So in the space of 2 weeks you've consigned me to downloading 4 GB because CCP now has a fetish for releasing patches that basically fix the stuff they broke in the last patch (point release, whatever the **** you want to call it). And these smaller patches introduce yet more erors and bugs that you'll have to patch out again next week.
I hear in fact that you patched 2 or 3 times last week alone.
CCP you are collectively ******* useless. Introducing this point release system basically means you can vomit out rubbish knowing you can cover up your errors with another annoying patch next day.
For the love of God CCP please could you either improve your QA prior to releases so that the coders amongst you can't merrily just release beta code to the masses as they do now or provide more links to previous versions, for versions that are more than, say, 2 weeks old. |

I can understand why some of you are getting angry, but please put some thought into considering that CCP is a lot better with their current patching system than most MMOs. At least you can patch to the latest possible build as long as your client is at lest 5 or 6 patches behind, that's a hell of a lot better than having to download 150+MB in sequential patches.
Plus, at least the GMs aren't as slow as snails with updating the OP with the new patches. Sure, it may take 6 or 7 hours, but it's better than an entire day or two.
If the launcher isn't working properly for me, I just ask one of my friends who plays EVE to download the patch and upload it somewhere so I can download it. Those of you complaining to CCP for failing to update the OP the instant a new patch goes out could try my method. |

Just need a Official Eve Torrent ? (an ftp with 20k connections after a downtime... it s a bad idea). (working with Bittorrent / Utorrent,... etc)
Still a Nice Attention to Update / Correct bugs everyday... but a bit boring for players from a galaxy far away... |

Hey all, so I have taken quite a break from eve during my holidays and when I came back, eve doesn't work on my desktop anymore. When I open eve it runs the launcher and when I click on Play it just sits there and laughs at me =(
However, eve runs on the laptop (i have no idea why that would be) but after sifting through all the different methods people are trying in order to 'fix it'. None of them have worked for me........ I'm currently re-downloading and re-installing eve for the 8th time but I highly doubt whatever I do this time round would make any difference.
CCP once the clients we download off the main EVE website is actually playable and bug free could you please let us know? My laptop is too under-powered to run the game so I'm just gonna put long skills on and give up playing until the problems are gone =(
p.s. my ExeFile is also corrupted or something because the severlog thing says that it doesn't work. majorly lame -_-
furthermore the very first post in 'alternate patching methods is confusing; 1. Download and open the zip file which will take you to the current TQ client version 2. Copy the .patch file into the EVE Online client folder, usually that would be C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE 3. Run the launcher and it'll do the rest for you automatically. 4. Download and open the latest zip file 5. Copy the .patch file into the EVE Online client folder, usually that would be C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE 6. Run the launcher and it'll do the rest for you automatically.
^ Those instructions were a bit hard to follow since it seems steps 4-6 are just repeating exactly what I did in steps 1-3. plus, the launcher is the wrong version anyways. its v.1.321 on my desktop (I know its suppose to be v.1.32 from my laptop). I could only wish that the launcher would do it all automatically. |

My updater has downloaded EVE_Online_395875-404131_win.patch about ~110bm file, and then starts downloading EVE_Online_404131-404131_win.patch about 50.79 mb filel and sucks at 34.66 mb... I've tried to run repair.exe. Repaire .exe has updated, calculated and found some corrupted files (I think it because repair.exe checks hashs for 404131 but I have 395875, its not patched :( ) And calculates that 50.79 mb data to be downloaded and corrected. I ran the repair tool countless times, even did a completely clean install of EvE. I was so desperate I even reinstalled Windows just to fix it. Guess what the results are... nothing, still getting same error, except now it's trying to create EVE_Online_404131-404131_win.patch. Ran the repair tool now, it found absolutely nothing.  |

Hey everyone, so I'm trying to get my eve to work again but am getting absolutely no where with it. I have already tried clean installed of the game quite a few times already and every time it refuses to start after I click play on the launcher.
I have since tried to run it from the bin folder with no success either (it seems that everyone has been able to log in one way or another) and I'm stuck on the launcher with no way of even finding out what version of eve I'm running.
So my question is, if I have downloaded a fresh install right off the eve website. Does anyone know what patch I need and how i can actually get it working so that I can at least log in?

Yeah I have and it says that it has successfully repaired everything but it is still not playable. When I tried to download the patch (412710-434834) today the launcher stopped downloading at 141.95MB every time. Downloading the patch that is linked in here (412710-433763) manually didn't work either as the launcher still tried to download the 412710-434834 patch and stopped at 141.95MB again. Your online and offline patches are a load of bollocks to be honest, I had to delete my whole client, corrupted or some bullcrap as usual, I'm not a computer geek so what you wrote in the op means **** all to me. 5 days left on my accounts not been able to skill or even get into game. 7yrs I've put up with your crap (remember boot.ini.) anyone?
Anyway your petition system is also fubar as wont even let me petition, i click submit petition and guess what comes up, "I'm sorry something went wrong no need to get back in touch" what the **** is that supposed to mean, did you get my petitions with the details of problems i'm having or is this another CCCP cop out excuse as they can't be able to help there player base in any ******* way.

For MAC-Users: left-click shortcut PLUS ctrl-key
I am playing Eve since mid-2012 and had trouble with every major update. The "mistake" was to click on the blue EVE shortcut.
I had to left-click PLUS ctrl-key to have success. It will start the EVE Online launcher, download the update and install it. Worked every time.

Thanks so much!!! I tried downloading patch last night (all farking night long) but I only have a 5g internet limit over my cellphone/modem while tethered to my laptop...my sole internet access from home..and when i woke up to a notice "data was corrupted, do you want to attempt download again" I was all...NO FARKING WAY there goes my monthly internet if I try again! Searched forums for another way to patch and found this link above which is allowing me to download the patch over my smart phone while at work (unlimited data :) ) and i can pop the card out of the phone and transfer the zip to my laptop tonight and hopefully get playing tonight and still have internet to play with.

did you guys unzip the file before moving it in to the correct folder?
I sometimes forget to do that.
Also I dont launch using the launcher after placing the file in the folder, there is another icon that bypasses the launcher in the ccp folder
and looks like there is a small 18mb patch downloading 6 dec @ down time |

Thank you Redout for saving me a 3rd 1.5G download. Didn't know about another start icon. CCP doesn't make that info available on patch notes, or anywhere I have seen other than here in this thread, and PLAYERS ARE PROVIDING THE CURRENT INFORMATION NOT CCP...ARSEHOLES.
Looks like it is the "eve.exe (Safe Mode)" icon. Both launcher and bootstrapper ignore the download if another patch has been applied since you downloaded the mahoosive beast, and they attempt to download the Entire latest and greatest fix for a broken patch...FARK YOU CCP!.
looks like my client is recongnizing the *442745* patch and is gonna start downloading the latest patch *458396* of the patch of patch of the patched patch.
FARK YOU CCP!!! (I been trying to get the game working for 2 days now...arseholes.) How is it that I am finding out how to patch this game through a back door method via PLAYER advice instead of CCP making this information readily available....ARSEHOLES.

Ahaha! I have found it! All credit to castor_harden.
Open the launcher, at the top right you see a screwdriver and wrench for settings, click that. Go to the patches tab and click import. Import the unzipped patch file. The launcher will then have to do some installing and download a second smaller patch (20mb or so) but then it worked for me! Hope this works for you all! |

For those of you running into this error, please check to be sure you aren't subject to any download size restrictions. I had been trying to install the patch all day and running into this error while traveling on a train. After I realized what was happening, I switched my mobile hotspot on, and boom! No problems at all.
The patch is 18.3MB, but the restriction here was 10MB. Hope this helps.

I will be saving a patch link (to update with new patch#s later) in a notebook file with "smartphone install instructions" (because I'll forget how this worked next time...damn you age!) for the next massive*patch. Not going through a "launcher install" again with my pathetic lappy internet.

same issue here . tried manual install of the patch but no luck , stuck at 15% . i even tryied repairing the client , but ended up with an error message .. this is what i get in the repair log :

This link still isn't working for those of us who need to patch the game manually.
The reason my launcher or repair tool do not work properly is because I am behind my university's firewall, which blocks many connections such as P2P/Torrents. Most games have gone to this method of information distribution, so I need to do this with most games.
If you're able to check your router, modem, or ISP's settings/policies, I would say to check wether or not P2P/Torrents are permitted through your network. Unfortunately if you are in my situation where I am unable to access the router, you are stuck with this manual downloading and patching method. |

For some reason the launcher keeps displaying error when launched. (No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher.) THis problem happens when i use my HTC connection sharing. Meaning i connect the usb to my pc and i select share connection. I am able to browse and download stuff but, cannot connect to eve. I have downloaded the latest patch and inserted it on the eve folder, but launcher wont start, repair tool doesnt work due to the same problems as of the laucnher !HELP!

The EVE Launcher is currently unable to handle 302 redirects, which this proxy or firewall appears to be employing. I can manually download the file but the launcher it self does not show, sometimes it just give me the pop up screen to either start eve or the ok button, so no options button for me, Its fine, tomorrow ill get a new way of internet solution since CCP can do nothing about the launcher thing. |
