I might be doing this wrong but if they don't accept the freeform - you loose your deposit - 10% of the price so for example you freeform nothing to somebody at 250mil you will loose 25mil if they don't accept - also the giant "YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANYTHING FROM THIS CONTRACT" usually gives it away.

you won't lose that no. The only amount you put in is the collateral and you don't lose 10% of that if they don't accept...at least not when I did a bunch of them. Yes, the giant message will warn people about it but if you can convince them it's a bug (I have) then it can go through. TBH freeform isn't my preferred method of the scam. I like trade windows =D

You don't 'get' scamming. It is not done for moneys. It is done for pure unadulterated laughs.

I just read your 'guide' and I must say you failed as a scammer. Primary scamming is for the lulz, secondary its about the money. 2.5 bil in 14 days is not much, even if its your first 14 days. Your blog failed to deliver lulz and didnt contain anything besides the obvious methods everyone already knows.

It's nothing personal. I just want your stuff, and more importantly the fun of the fight. |

It's written for noobs... I never said I was the SUPREME scammer of all time either. Think of it this way... I could waste my time doing craploads of missions at my main's level and only make about 50-100mil in a week...or I could scam in Jita for an hour or so each day and make a ****load more. My blog was not for lulz either. So how did I fail as a scammer? I got all I wanted from it. Obvious troll is obvious.

Edited by: Leon vanUber on 11/11/2008 01:17:04 Edited by: Leon vanUber on 11/11/2008 01:15:51 Maybe you got me wrong. I wasn't arguing about the ethic of scamming, I have scamalts myself which I use when I'm bored. We are even in the same scam channels :P (or were, didn't check any of my alts recently). 2.5 bil in 14 days is not 'pretty good for the profession'. You failed as a scammer cause you didn't do it for the lulz as you stated, but also didn't do it for the money as you gave your alts stuff away. You just tested scamming with limited success - which is why I said you failed as a scammer. If it was all you wanted (being mediocre) then I'm not the one giving you hell for it.
Your guide only contained the really obvious scamming methods and each method is only described in a really shallow way - which doesn't make it easy for noobs to understand them. So it failed being a good guide for noobs.
BTW, you said you would welcome any comments or suggestions in the OP but call me an 'obvious troll' for stating my opinion (negative feedback), which tells me you don't only fail at scamming.
It's nothing personal. I just want your stuff, and more importantly the fun of the fight. |

well telling someone they suck compared to you is pretty much trolling..unless you you are instructing them how they can stop sucking and be more like you..comments like "the most obvious"blah blah and not giving more detail as to how to improve..yeah so as a teacher...you suck..and since this is a troll i wont even bother telling you how to teach better...hehehehe...

ART OF THE SCAM
You mentioned art, there wasnt any. It seems the lack of imagination or creativity that makes a Jita scammer doesnt translate so well when writing blogs.
This bit was typical,,
"9. Corp Thieving- The dirtiest of all scams and the most profitable(arguable). Join a corp on an alt that you can train skills on and gain their total trust. Work your way up the corporate ladder until you have hanger access...then steal all their ****e! If you don't have that much patience train up to at least a BS and ask if you can test your dps on one of your corpmate's shiny ships then ransom/pod their asses! BIG MONEY!~!!"
So corpthieving is when you join a corp, and then nick all their stuff ? Wow what a revelation.
Brilliant, just brilliant, I often wondered what corp thiefs do and now I know.
So I guess you will make another trade and get back to spending hundreds of hours in Jita local trying to sell that fake navy raven.
How artful

heh I almost forgot...the more scammers there are the more competition there is and the more it's out in the open the more the success rate drops. =D
