I'm sure this isn't the right thread, but this is the closest I could find...
If I have questions regarding the schema and content of the Eve DB, what thread should I go to? |

We are having some issues with the Icons. I now have a full set, but am double checking them to make sure.

Lingorm, if you are using the /webtools commandline then most of the NPC ships arent included.
Perhaps you could push for the webtools to generate all of them? ;-)
If you want to cut down on the icons needed to be rendered you could have it just render each unique graphic_id, instead of going by type_id. There is one exception to this and that is about half of the icons for blueprints. They have some weird graphicIDs.
Finally an option to the /webtools to specify a size would also be nice. |

I'm having a little issue with the DB export (MySQL one downloaded from eve-id, I'm mid downloading the one linked in this thread in case it's solved there).
Type 499 (Standard Missile Launcher) has the effect 101 (useMissiles) which has a dischargeAttributeID of 6 (capacitorNeed), however type 499 doesn't have an attribute with a type of id 6.
Unless I've misunderstood the structure of the DB, I think that the attribute IDs (for discharge, trackingSpeed, duration, falloff and range) of an effect are meant to link back to an attribute of that id attached to the type to which the effect is applied?

Wrong data export. It seems that agents aren't relocated in the new Quantum Static Export.
I'm not using the MSSQL Export but the converted MySQL Export from the Eve-dev wiki, but i would suggest to check the dump again.
Table: agtAgents
# Kikosuda Partoh agentID: 3016847 export stationID: 60003781 correct stationID: 60015146
# Natakko Saijimo agentID: 3012068 export stationID: 60003775 correct stationID: 60003853
# Arugas Ungi agentID: 3012019 export stationID: 60003772 correct stationID: 60015147
Please check those agents in your export main database.

I just paid a visit to the 2 stations in Isenairos and the 1 in Aramachi, and the 3 agents are at the 'export stationID' you lists. |

Yes, they're and should be in Isenairos and Aramachi now. But according to the QR dump, they're based on the wrong stationID which means they're in the wrong system. Ingame it's okay, but in the QR dump they're on the wrong station.

I think I found something else thats missing, or I'm just not finding it. What table is the data for the results you get refining ore, compounds, and ice? You can calulate the rsults you get from refining modules and such from the `typeActivityMaterials` table, but there is no data in that table for ores and other refinables.
Yes, you can get that kind of data from a site like Grismar's http://eve.grismar.net/ore/full.php but the whole point of an offical DB realease is that data should be in there. Besides, I've already found some errors in the compounds on Grismar's table.
thanks in advance.

These agents started moving out of the Santenpaa constellation after the deployment of Quantum Rise, the day after to be exact with a 10 day notice. So the information in the data export was correct at the time it was generated. |

There was some discussion in the forum thread for that dev blog about crpNPCCorporationTrades returning in some limited way, such as without the supplyDemand column, and just a way to indicate whether a given corporation buys or sells an item. Is that still a possibility?

It could be that it might a possibility, but that discussion has not reached me. There was a good reason why the table was excluded and those concerns would have to be alleviated.

Many thanks for this WolfSinger, unfortunately, being a very noob mysql bod I'm having trouble getting this into mysql. If someone can help me with the procedure for doing this it would be very much appreciated.
I've 1st loaded the files into query analyzer to search & replace the db name to what I want and resaved them although the eve-data.sql file seems to be too large for MySql Query Analyzer to cope with, truncating it part way down...
When I try to load the scripts from the mysql cmd line (I'm on windows xp pro btw) I get errors that don't seem to like statements such as SET_FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS = 0 and DROP TABLE IF EXISTS, CREATE DATABASE IF EXISTS etc (the default charset in MySQl Administrator is latin1 btw) I'm trying to do this using the command "> mysql -u root -ppassword -D dbname < eve-schema.sql"
If I try to run the scripts from Query analyser the eve-schema.sql file runs fine but the data script runs into errors such as "line 176 Incorrect String Value: '\xEF\xBF\xBD Th..' for column 'description' at row1" - a little digging seems to reveal that it's balking at some non printable characters. Now search and replacing these characters with nothing sort of sorts this issue, although I'd rather keep the data as it is, but still leaves me with the truncated file problem (I'm assuming Query analyzer/ my o/s / machine can't cope with scripts over a certain size).
I'm guessing the solution may lie in the character set that I create the db with but not sure how to proceed...
I'm obviously missing something fairly basic here but after a fair bit of GIYF am still getting nowhere... so please someone, after passing me the stupid hat, can you help?!

7. navigate from DOS cmd line to the folder you've got the eve-data.sql file extracted in. use mysql -u root -p[yourrootpassword] -D[yourdbname] -n < eve-data.sql and wait a couple of minutes (its a BIGfile!) ( -n forces the buffer to flush after each statement). Note this will not work if mysql is not in the environment path for windows, but everyone's done that bit when installing mysql right?
Note that the above works for me in WinXP Pro, running MySql 5.1.11

Could you expand on the reason the table was excluded? As I understand it, the table got dropped from the export because the supplyDemand column was not public information, and could be used for a trading advantage in game. However, a list of NPC buy/sell orders (without any indication of quantity or regeneration rate or whatever else that column indicates) can be used for a variety of valid purposes.
I think it's important to note that this information is available both in and out of game - in game, each NPC corporation's info sheet has a trading tab which lists all of its buy and sell orders; and out of game, each item in the item database has an NPC Market tab that lists all the corporations buying and selling it (example: AWU). What we're asking for is a table with corporationID, typeID, and something like sellOrder which is a one if supplyDemand is positive and a zero if supplyDemand is negative.
I should say that PrismX has said recently on IRC that the "type X is sold by corp Y" data was removed by design. I don't know if he understood the removal of the table to mean removing all the data, or if game design specifically requested that that data be pulled, but either way I'd like to request a reconsideration. The fact that this data is publicly available in the client and on the website seems to me to be a very strong argument for allowing it to be published in the data export.

Malice:
The Windows version of MySQL must default to a different collation then the Unix version. As I look at mine, all the table collations defaulted to "latin1_swedish_ci". I'll keep this in mind the next time I convert one and try forcing a collation.
The command line import probably is the easiest way to pull the data in. The same thing will happen to Linux users: most people use phpMyAdmin as a database GUI front end, and it can only import files of up to 10mb. I end up having to copy the files over to my server and importing with a similar command line.
And as you found, under Windows it's probably just easier to rename the database to what you need after the fact. Wordpad and Notepad both want to load the entire file into memory.
Anyone have any ideas on the refining data I posted about? The devs just seemed to skip over my question entirely.
