There is a small issue with the "Foreign key" part of the script included in the dump. The type of the field "parentTypeID" in the table "dbo.crtRelationships" is int but the related field "typeID" in the table "dbo.invTypes" is smallint. Changing the type to smallint in the table "dbo.crtRelationships" allow the foreign key to be created.
ALTER TABLE dbo.crtRelationships ADD CONSTRAINT crtRelationships_FK_parentType FOREIGN KEY (parentTypeID) REFERENCES dbo.invTypes(typeID)
Other than that, great job!

Shouldn't you go the other way because typeID has always been int before and I thought they already had some that were to big to fit in a smallint? -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Been known to write some PHP code for API from time to time too. |

For those who have problem with default MySQL collation - easy way is to add (or manually issue) SET NAMES UTF8; at the beginning of the import. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

I've just noticed that the refID field in the wallet journal api xml export seems to have jumped to a different number range (old example value~ 1889771409, new 386072358). Caused me an issue because I was inserting journal entries to db where refID > max(refID) in the table (the new integer is smaller than the old one). I'm assuming ccp have done this to keep the number within the range of whatever integer datatype they use for storing it.
I've done a clumsy manual fix by adding a `cycle` field to my journal table and assigning all new records a different value (1) and setting the old records to 0 after manually inserting the last xml cache file. It's not very elegant though (i.e how do I detect when they next do this?)
Anyone any experience of dealing with this? do CCP recycle the refIDs often?
I'm thinking of comparing the number of digits to detect when it happens then incrementing the cycle number but doesn't seem an ideal solution however...
Apologies if this should be posted elsewhere - please point me in the right direction if so

Yes, both solutions work. As long as types are the same.

I've started a new thread on this subject, as it's not really related to the topic of this one. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

Check out README_FOR_THE_EASILY_CONFUSED for a xml conversion I don't see a CSV one but should be able to do one from one of the others or use contact info from the page above to see about getting one done.
Best place to find most current info on all API related stuff is of course EVEDev where I got the above link from. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Been known to write some PHP code for API from time to time too. |

MySQL can natively create both formats. Let me know if you still want them, as it's just a couple of quick commands.

Could it be that corp/alliance logos are missing in the QR dump? I could just use them from the EA dump (afaik, nothing has changed), but i was wondering if I've overlooked something or that they were excluded on purpose. Thanks.

Raser Moonstrider - Just wondering why you didn't use the MySQL one-file-per-table collection from http://eve.no-ip.de/qr100/_README_FOR_THE_EASILY_CONFUSED.html? Okay I took a better look at the files in the zip I thought you'd just broke them like the other was done
Just wondering what problems you were having setting up MySQL? I mostly used it on Linux servers but have also set it up on Windows without any problems. I know that it's hard to import the Eve data dump if you've only used the web GUI etc. But there's been a couple forum posts about how to do it from a command-line.
Anyway glad you found something that's working for you and that you shared it for others to use. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Designer of Yapeal for Eve API. |

hey everyone.. I am having a ton of problems getting this imported. I have tried everything I can think of.. tried a splitter, tried big dump and it all fails. the only thing that seems like it will work is if I baby sit this thing for the next few days or week and just have phpmyadmin continue where it stops.
Are there any other suggestions to get this imported in 1 shot? nothing seems to work for me. Feeling noobish!!!! |

If you have shell access on your server computer and assuming you're trying to get the MySQL import to work you can use the mysql command-line it doesn't have the limitations that phpMyAdmin or any of the other programs have. Here a general outline of what you'll need to do.
- Get Data dump file onto server in uncompressed format
- Connect to server shell via SSH, etc
- Run: mysql -uUsername -p myDB < /path/to/datadump.sql
- Wait and wait some more probably it will take several minutes
The above is make several assumptions but should work on most Linux/Unix type systems and maybe with some small changes would work on Windows as well. |

Does anyone have this in MS Access format? It's the only DB I have easy access to (and understand)! I tried the link earlier in this thread (on page 1), but it's broken.

I guess that's probably my site then - seems the database is down
Anyway, the rest of it seems fine so here's a direct link to the Access download (just tried it and it still works): http://www.evehq.net/e107_files/downloads/EveHQ_MDB_QR.zip |

Vessper, you wouldn't happen to have the MS Access version of the icon files in your magic hat by any chance, (or tell me how to get to them in the Access DB I downloaded from your site ) And yes , I could use MS SQL Express, that I downloaded, installed and then got a headache trying to figure out I'm a total sql noob

Not sure what you mean by an MS Access version of the files. The icons are simply graphics files and while you could probably find a way to import them into a database, it's probably easier to leave them external and reference the image by the filename or URL.

Do you, or anyone else for that matter, have a method or procedure for referencing icon images within an external file that a complete idiot can understand . I am guessing that there are multiple images for each item, for each image size and that it will probably be an offset, there ends my knowledge of the subject.
thanks Ags |

The images come as separate files for different sizes so you can pick and choose which to use in your application. There are a couple of differing ways of naming the file though depending on the type of item you are viewing. For blueprints, ships, drones, stations, POS equipment, warp bubbles and other entities, you reference the image by using the typeID as found in the invTypes table, then appending the ".png" extension.
If the item is a module, ammo, ore, mineral etc, then you need to reference the image by: 1. Looking at the graphicID of the item in the invTypes table 2. Looking up that graphicID in the eveGraphics table and finding the icon reference 3. Prefixing the icon reference with "icon" and appending ".png" to get the filename of the image
I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve so it's difficult to give you more specifics but if you put all of the relevant icons/images into a single directory then at least everything is in one place and you only need to change the image name. |
