The 10 new bonus tracks added to the jukebox I am sure sound very good. Eve's ambient music was what kept me in the game so long. However, from what others say, I along with many, choose to play without sound. Some say it is a lag issue, which has never been experienced on my PC, but there is another reason as well. One which I wonder why it has not been addressed yet.
Why is it CCP has chosen to be so skimpy with the sound FX controls? It would sure be nice to listen to all that great music without hearing overly loud gates, that warping sound, and the big one, weapon fire and missile explosions. Those sounds overpower the music and quite frankly, they are sometimes annoying and you do not wish to hear them... so you end up playing with no sound because you have no volume control for these particular sounds.
CCP, could you PLEASE add a slider bar in the sound options for Warp Gate sound FX, for Weapon sound FX and for Warping sound FX? The Warping and Gate firing sound FX could be the same volume slider and would work just as well I am sure. It seems so simple and seems like it would have been an option added to the game many years ago.
In my opinion, it is not the major game changes that improve the game, but rather, the subtle ones which fix the bugs and allow players more control.
Please bump this thread as much as possible if you agree we need more volume slider bars.

I agree wholeheartedly. These sounds also tend to drown out EVE Voice. A couple of the people I talk with every day have very quiet voices. I find myself constantly asking them to repeat themselves.
Additionally, I'd like the in-station sounds to be added to this proposed volume bar, or given a simple on/off toggle. |

Well, zooming out does that, but you lose the pretties then.

Assuming you do not play OTHER music in the background while playing eve...
Step 1 : Open sound options Step 2 : Turn down master Volume until the effects are at the level you want. Step 3 : Max out Music volume. Step 4 : Turn up your speakers Volume until the music is the level you want it. Step 5 : ??? Step 6 : Profit. |
