After this path I noticed that the game now lags like hell. Even in systems with 10-20 people.
My ISP connection is an 8 megabits/s link and it's working extremely well, so it's not a matter of bad connection.
Just me ?

I have also noticed this - much lower FPS than pre-patch.

Never group guns. There is a lag problem with that.

Also, if you are playing and moving systems a lot (roaming) and things start to get crappy, relog.

Same here. After the patch everything seems to freeze up for about half a second every 5 or 10 seconds or so.... Verrrrry annoying. _

..not really sure if it's network lag totally or not but the UI windows all seem to have become sluggish -- opening or closing. I realize opening the wallet or market rely on network throughput et al but I see a second or more delay just closing windows now.
Overall it seems the whole windows premium graphics client UI has slowed down compared to the previous one. Time to give the classic client a go I guess.

There was a DXUpdate that tried to install with the patch, On my system there were no included CAB files for directX howeever. I installed the newest (8th of november) DirectX on my system and it seems to have helped a little, but my system "appears" to be REALLY REALLY sluggish while I am running eve, 1 client or 3 gives about the same amount of sluggishness..
On a side note, One client can be REAL sluggish and the others are peppy, If I kill the other 2 clients it stays sluggish! Restarting the sluggish client does fix the problem for a bit, but I think there's a slight problem somewhere :/.

The in game browser kills Eve, not to mention spikes my CPU need. I turned off missle animation and it seems to work better, however, the lag issue when jumping / docking is still seen quite evidently. =----------=

I'm managing 3,8 average FPS sitting in a station doing nothing. Never had any issue with lag before the patch.

this happens to me also. I've noticed that it's after I come back from an "alt-tab". only way to fix is to reboot the client. annoying since I alt-tab alot and this used to work fine :(
(love the rest of the patch though)

Monster lag, while running two accounts on two monitors, one is always lagging the other. If I hover the mouse on one screen it will catch up while the other starts to get jumpy then freezes or lags. While in station this is very noticeable. While mining or any other action it is to the point now that I am having major freeze ups that last anywhere from a few seconds to 5 to 10 Min's. It is making it very difficult to run two account and at times one.

Signed.... It's not network lag though, It looks like CPU spikes that even occur when the focus is not on Eve. Also my page file seems to be a lot bigger than before (around 700Mb with 2Gig RAM)

Edited by: A Fairy on 13/11/2008 17:05:22 Using a classic client i have lag with two clients. didnt happen before QR patch. After doin some tweakin the client runs great for like 1hour, then the lag strikes again. Possible Memory leak?

ok same problem here, and if i didn't know better it looks almsot like a memeory leak. if i have game minimised it uses up about 6% cpu while i mine, yet the moment i open the client up it uses upto 40%...this is very very similar to problems i had when playing AoC and their issues was defiantly a memory leak. so really just adding 1+1 (it maybe 3) but either way something not right since patch.
Any news on this ccp please :) [/url] |

opening, closing windows, opening market, fitting it all causes the game to pause, it was the same on test server before QR was deployed I dunno how CCP could miss it I assumed it was such a glaringly obvious problem having client UI lockups that it would be fixed before going live *shrug*

Add me to the list. Ungrouping weapons does fix it a little bit but the lag is on the verge of being unplayable. Try running a gang only using your overview. Very challenging!

I'm also experiencing increased response times in systems with few chars. But it's worst when moving items around or doing anything on the market.

Edited by: Taiss on 14/11/2008 11:12:28 It seems the longer one plays the more the game starts lagging - it started well for me; After an hour the lag of 2+ sec spread everywhere (jumping, right clicking, warping, locking , window opening etc); After 2 hours it increased to 5+ sec and after 3rd hour it became barely playable with 10+ sec lag. I also managed to lose my ship at that time(small gang) and oh boy^^ - the session change for a pod was 1 minute+:) On the side note the overview window started adding more and more lines of Align to/Warp/Orbit/etc signs each hour, so by the end of the session i had 4 rows of above-mentioned icons in overview:) PS: the CPU seems to be stuck at 100% all the time rather than 35% as before QR.
Edit: it seems to be related to http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=901875

/signed!
in stations, opening the market view - all is taking longer.
...instead of faster - what was promised ;)
maybe it's more stable now, but sometimes i just carry out a item to a fitting place and have to wait for reaction.... that's not fun.
hope you get this fixed, i believe in you guys :)

Massive lag doing just about anything since the patch, opening windows and jumping through gates being the slowest to respond.
Constant disconnects, barely playable atm... this has to be the buggiest patch for plain playability they have ever released. |

hmm sounds like some kind of garbage collecting failure...
sounds really weird but if i open de tak manager it really gets back to 'old' performance - there must be some kind of memory leek or stuff... (long ago since i programmed)
check the code CCP! there is some mystery going on here ;)
Others: TRY OPENING TASK MANAGER
...and report here if it's better with you guys too.
