Not unplayable, but still very annoying - opening, closing windows, browsing the market, etc. LAG!!1!

Be patient, we just had a major patch. I figure there'll be a hotfix soon (tm). I have yet to play any MMO (indie or otherwise) that doesn't have problems have a big patch / expansion / patchspansion. Hell, even WoW, back before it got ungodly ginormous the whole game used to be totally unplayable for a couple days every time they did a content patch.
I am not that concerned there is a problem, you are right most major patches have issues, the concern is the lack of recognition from CCP, nothing heard from them at all as far as I am aware. |

Just to update my earlier post...
I rebooted, jumped into an identically-fit ship, except that its weapons aren't grouped, and even though I'm still having the same issue with progressively worsening lag, it happens much more slowly. -----

Same here; one client ok, slowly degrades...2 clients not fun. Maybe it's the speed nerf; looks slower.

Idential problem what encountel all my corpmbers, I need to reload client around every 2 hours to be able open windows like market, containers etc. For empire life, its not that hard issue, but for 0.0 operations its very bad. CCP fix this ASAP, its not on player side, I mean different PC setup or old drivers.

Happens to me after about 10-15mins of playing, everything suddenly goes "sticky" and lags out. I've noticed it seems to be hogging half my processor when I'm doing nothing in an empty system (processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+), so it's either a processor thing or a memory leak. |

me too ...... been in two 0.0 PVP "situations" since patch, switch on all my modules (Cruises... it's a Raven) and hello lag city .... eventually log off and back on and I'm sitting in a pod looking at my wreck (same both times) ..... thought it was my PC, so bit hacked off when it happened again.
Did I mention they were RAVENS! 1st one was dead expensive, rigged an all so was a pain to lose, 2nd was cobbled together with rat loot so not so bad ....... oh well..... |

Thought that id add to the pool here and say that im having these issues as well.
I play for about an hour (without noticable lag), then it starts to bog down more and more as time goes by. This doesnt seem to matter if im actually playing, or just letting it sit there in a station. Doing anything from opening/adjusting a window, bringing chat to the front..anything becomes nearly impossible.
And as others have said, logging out and back in seems to temp fix the problems (until about an hour again).
Im running classic graphics.

I built a new PC system right before the patch, and got about 300 FPS consistently through the game (in space). Running two premium clients was also no problem at all, but now after the patch in some battles a _SINGLE_ client puts the machine down on its knees with as low as 5 FPS.
How is that even possible?
Might I mention that Crysis plays just fine with everything on max? I am usually not one to complain, but there is something seriously wrong here.
My system's specs:
8 GB RAM AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core SLI'd 2 x GeForce 9800 GTX+ Windows Vista

It's a memory leak. Afaik it has been fixed on sisi.
If your client is really laggy. Doing things like jumping or market takes forever... close eve, open eve log back in and go to it. It'll be lag free. |

Can't be true, they said in the 'behind the scenes at CCP' vid that battles with 1200 participants were possible.
But then Torfi did say 'crafting' was a feature in EvE along with the 'mezmerizing planets'.
Keep up the good work CCP.

It was rather laggy for me too today. Had to reboot my PC at one stage.
I'm sure CCP are onto it already.

Even after the fight when I was chillin' at a POS, it was horrible. Turning off brackets didn't help at all during the fight, although I guess it would've been even worse if they were on. One guy relogged just before the fight started, and he wasn't experiencing any trouble at all. I relogged afterwards and everything was smooth as fudge.
Classic gfx, 4gb RAM, Vista 64-bit. I guess you screwed something up in QR huh? :P

Fleets arrive in system for battle........
Hold on everyone!
Lets all re-log first.
Perhaps there should be an option for fleet commander, like warping fleet. |

Edited by: Loteria on 17/11/2008 00:02:39 Lock 2 targets. Switch back and forth between them, watch your CPU spike and multiple set of icons appear in select box. Dont know if this is some kind of leak but it definately cause some lag. I get lag over time even without leaving system I am in.

Edited by: IxenBlaze on 17/11/2008 00:11:50 I had this problem when it came to large fleet battles. I was hoping i could get some pew pew outta this game for a while. When the fleet finally went underway, i was getting a huge FPS reduction and when it came time to battle....... It went down to 0 to 2 FPS and i would be stuck with the same framerate while other people in my fleet were 2 jumps away... I know i have a great computer for this game and was only running teamspeek in the background. I was only running 1 client and its unplayable and i dont know what to do about it :\. (ive got broadband cable fyi)

Same problems here.
It's pretty obvious that this client has at least a few major memory leaks. Don't you people test your software at all before going live?

Game is unplayable as every 30 seconds you get a huge freeze in the game and that freeze can last for up to 5 seconds. Basically the client deteriorates the longer its open.
This needs to be fixed asap :x |

Same problem, classic client, on Mac. Also getting the multiple rows of icons int he selected item window.
Average in space fps down to 5-6.
Fix. Nao. Pls. שששששששששששששששSigשששששששששששששש The magic behind Minmatar ships is the fact that there is only one type of Minmatar ship. The only variation is when they decide to stop building it. |
