I'm canceling my account today and just wanted to say good bye to those who know me. There are a lot of great things about Eve. But some recent changes and where the game appears headed has left it not entertaining enough to be worth 14.95 USD a month to me now. Your loss. Personally I think this patch will reinvigorate the game.

Edited by: Daitanfutekina Unsoya on 13/11/2008 23:45:48 this is what bugs me about quantum rise the most.
200k out of 250k players feel the negative effects of this patch, while the hud changes are great.
They with the Orca are not justifiable for turning pvp into Grab the bar of soap, for the sake of frigates.
More so to my point.
The ammount of subscribers in eve is what keeps me playing.
IF eve looses more than they gain. then that's where I'd take my bow.
I dont want to play a game that suggests it has no future.
and the developers. who's ever idea it was to make frigates, which isk vs isk can take on multiple battleships with the cost of one battleship and win.. seems to think frigates needed an even greater boost.
Seriously. 2 damps frigs 2 ecm frigs and a few dps frigs. all tech 1 gear vs a tech 1 battleship?
alot of pvp players here. If you had a squad of frigates in a controlled environment just how big would your squad have to be to kill that battleship pilot, assuming his skills are the same as you, or even 4 times you.

I can see that for some players but for myself, no. The issue for me was not the mechanics that changed as far as speed, or missiles. But looking at what appears a continuing effort by Eve development to walk on egg shells and try not to irritate large segments of various styles of game player. (Care bears, hard core PvPers, etc, etc.) And no direction by CCP to deliver a deeper game play experience overall that allows those playing styles to coexist in the sandbox. With the input that the player base has been given with the CSM I'm not really seeing many ideas put forward to add to everyone's enjoyment of Eve, but more often then not just 'I don't like how your playing Eve and want it stopped' suggestions or demands. Also I am big on RP, though many are not which is fine, but over the last few months that has become as dead as dead can be. Most notably from the excluding of existing alliances to participate in FW.
So for what I liked about Eve, and where I would have liked to have seen it go, I just don't see it being around much longer, or ever happening. So I'm going to go see what else is out there. / "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do." - Confucius, Chinese philosopher & reformer (551 BC - 479 BC.) |

I think you are missing the point. the reason why 200k of 250k players(assuming that number is right) are feeling the negative aspects of the expansion is THE REASON the FOR the patch. A vast majority of the players were too comfortable with their complacency.
we old school pvp'rs have no interest in "adapting" to fotm/foty. I have very rarely been affected by "nerfs" and usually laugh alot when they hit. Probably the nos nerf hit me the hardest since i fly amarr but i dealt with it. This alt is specifically for rubbing the salt in the wound from this point on till people learn to make their own setups/fly what they trully like instead of copy/paste setups.

Have fun wherever you go but don't burn your bridges, EVE's one of those games that make you re-evaluate other MMO's and find out they're actually crap/meaningless.
