Target painters work great with drones.
Target painters work great with guns.
Target painters work lousy with missiles, cause the effect is negated when the target is moving even at slow speeds due to the laughable low explosion velocity of missiles.
A web is not an option, fighting in webrange is suicide with missiles since they are outdamaged by everything else in that range.
If CCP wants missiles-boats to fight in webrange, they should put missile damage on par with other weapon systems for that range.

Wrong. Missile damage after qr is calculated with the signiture radius being the primary modifier and not velocity so the new lower explosion velocity is misleading. This is why ships using an ab will take less damage and mwd ships will get pwnd if the missile is fast enough to catch them. |

no i think your wrong, in my big arse BS i mitigate up to 60% damage from missiles just from AB'ing around. velocity is a huge factor here. the sig radius/mwd thing just makes you a sitting duck for a missile now. it still doesnt change the fact that your targets velocity is a huge factor - that the lower explosion velocity for missiles is not misleading at all, its just as significant as sig raduis if not more so. as i would have to fit 3 or more mods/rigs to get the same gains that the AB mitigates. |

You have no clue what you are talking about. Just stop, or at least go learn the formula for missile damage before spouting nonsense.
