Edited by: Tobias Xiaosen on 19/11/2008 08:03:41 Well, since this hasn't been announced here, and even though I was in no way an major player in the alliance, I felt I should mention this.
As the title says, the Red Skull is no more. I don't know all the details leading up to the end of my former alliance, but from what I understand, the Red Skull's doom was spelled out in the PC9 conflict with Huzzah.
Our alliance started taking on many new corps with little experience in 0.0 to try and help in the war, and this just led to the alliance failing. These new corps were tallying up loses and the Red Skull's wallet was running thin.
Next, some of the best corps in the alliance all left after the war, including our last executor. Meaning the alliance was broke, filled with people with little experience in 0.0 and with each other, and lacking the leadership that made it what it was in the first place.
Red Skull died Sunday evening. Some of the corps, like my own, moved on and joined Controlled Chaos, but most went to follow their own ends.
Was a good run, and was fun while it lasted, but it wasn't meant to last.

Though once Woopatang and hull miners left what we knew of redskull was no longer redskull, the new red skull seemed to be holding it all together well enough. Shame really, we were just starting to give you guys credit for adapting to the new tactics we were using against you. The ability to adapt to new tactics shows promise, especially from a large alliance undergoing transition as you were at the time. Oh well, best of luck to you. |

TRS where one of the most boring enemies I fought against ever, even I must admit they were quick in learning and adapting. Starting with an arrogant attitude of their diplomats, which I never saw in EVE before, which raised our expectations for a good fight we only saw boring gatecamps and lousy bait-tactics. Overall smack in the beginning by TRS was the worst I ever saw and showed a general spirit of premature behaviour and even topped the young goons "fofofofof" which once flew thru the galaxy. Good it ended somehow in the middle of the conflict and they returned to shooting stuff instead of talking BS in local.
Anyhow the battle for the POS in T22 (which they again didn't manage to finish and we killed their domination tower in PC9 plus some of their capitals afterwards) was one of the most fun ever. Using jumpclones to pass the TRS gatecamp and killing them from behind watching their WTF-faces was really nice.
TRS had potential, but they didn't manage in the end to bring it. I saw four hostile alliances disbanding in a row in our area in the last half year which where red to us and to sum it up: Fighting against Red Skull was horrible in the beginning (them beeing total morons) but fun in the end because it was different then all the nanofleets, capfleets, sniperfleets etc. which you meet those days.
GL and GF in the end.

Thanks Tobias for letting the cat out of the bag... there goes our element of surprise lol
Raj - those adaptive players just have a new banner above their head, keep bringing the fun buddy
The Red Skull was an alliance of rich history, but there comes a time when the repeatedly revived should be let rest. TRS as it stood when I took it on was not beyond repair - until its last hour TRS comprised of fantastic pilots with an honourable and ambitious attitude.
In the end however it was a decision between a painful corp expel/consolidation procedure, or invite the strongest corps to reform under my original alliance with a fresh outlook and direction.
To the corporations left to go their own way, I wish you a prosperous and adventurous future.
*Raises his beer* Yaarhh!

Edited by: Guru on 19/11/2008 14:52:30 I have to say.. its amazing seeing how people perceive things from an outside perspective.
Let me shed some light on a few things and give a summary of the time spent in PC9 area! First let me say TRS's undoing had nothing to do with any hostilities/wars in PC9. TRS could have stayed together if someone had the time and ambition to run it. I wish all those who are moving on in different directions good luck! To TROLL, it was a daunting task to take on a challenge that large and you deserve the credit for giving it a go.
When woopatang left TRS, as well as Hull Miners, TRS lost a good percentage of there experienced FC's. It was my hope, in a last ditch effort, that the corps left could get organized enough to succeed. TRS was once in Hull Miners hands, and then given too Woop. We have been in much worse situations, with greater losses, and it never caused any collapse. As an alliance, as long as the core were there.. everything stayed together.
Before I even moved into PC9 I was having doubts of wanting to continue running the alliance. My gametime was running thin, my kid is getting older, my wife is wanting more attention..lol.. so my game time became more limited. Still unsure, I continued to pursue plans and move foward in the hopes either personal life could change or by some miracle things would get easier..lol When we moved to pc9, with the new relations, diplomacy, etc.. time in game was spent most entirely doing work.. and very little play being my game time was less. It became clear that if I ever wanted to enjoy the game again.. I was going to have to let TRS go. So I did :) That is all this is really about in the end. :) I knew there was a chance, even if I put leadership in place, the core few corps leaving could cause a collapse.. but hey you always hope for the best right! :)
As far as PC9 and Huzzah. PC9 only hurt our GMT time zone. TRS could have left PC9 at any time.. but we chose to stay there. Huzzah even offered us blue status to leave..lol The truth is, Huzzah can sometimes be, well full of ****..to be blunt..lol In GMT time zone(being our time zones were different) huzzah fought mostly our inexperienced and/or industry guys(even though there werent many). They did camp our guys, they did get kills, etc.. etc.. At the same time during USTZ(they dont like to talk about this) they were camped in most nights.. with us getting kills. This is why anyone who looks at the killboards from those weeks where woop was running TRS you will see approximately a 50% efficiency for either side of huzzah and friends.. neither doing well really. Just picking eachother off in different time zones. Most of the time USTZ nights we would just roam out of the pocket and leave them be since we didnt enjoy watching them play docking games all night.
Our tactics were based on the fact we were reading there forums(thank you internal huzzah dude..lol) At the same token, we knew they were reading ours(or getting the info) so we adjusted our posts accordingly. We didnt plan on finishing most pos's.. we didnt plan on using caps unless we had too(they didnt even know we had many caps until we ganked there dread..lol).. and we also knew they were getting frustrated as any war of attrition is.
The smack that came from Huzzah was just as bad as some of the smack that came from TRS. Thats why it is and was comical seeing them complain about smack. I wonder if one hand doesnt know what the other is doing at times.
I think Huzzah fought well and played to the time zone difference perfectly... so dont get me wrong. They just make it seem way more one sided then it really was. After TRS and Onion left though, they did have the upper hand and I cannot speak for anything that happened beyond that point. In the mix were other corps and alliances, some adding to the kills, some adding to the losses..lol
At the end of the day.. it was a fun experience. We got some pew in!! |

Edited by: Xorth Adimus on 20/11/2008 04:13:25 I had been in TRS for a very long time ever since it was reborn in 0.0.
I feel sorrow that many of those who joined TRS did not join during the very best times when we where a small alliance terrorising syndicate and beyond. I have many fond memories of battles won and lost and enemies now long forgotton from well over a year of mayhem.
Now it is all over I can post the full story!
TRS moved to PC9 with a massive influx of new corps across all timezones eager for a larger home in 0.0 and join a fun but hard core pvp alliance. TRS was also preparing to make the difficult transition from fun roaming small alliance to a more stable all TZ large alliance before moving on to much bigger things. PC9 was empty and just the kind of place we needed.
Huzzah moved into PC9 shortly afterward, after moving out of SU kicking inactive corps and restructuring. After initially being offered potental standings with them and seamingly getting on well. We found out from our intel exactly what their leadership mistakenly thought of us, that our initial respectful behavour was seen to be a weakness not mutual respect. Our response to these secret threats after we freely offered a genuine and rare friendship was immediate and forcefull.
It was a bitter war with both sides refusing to leave PC9. I can agree with Huzzahs comment. It was one of the most boring fights I have ever fought against another alliance.
The on station/POS cap heavy tactics huzzah prefer and excel at and the skirmishing/ raiding roaming tactics historically TRS exceled at lead to much frustration on both sides.
We eventually blobbed them back with our good old friends THORN and after two weekends of lag and heavy fighting and POS games it was still unresolved.
After months of fighting and good solid training for our new members we saw a better opportunity elsewhere and moved on, after continuing to fight Huzzah from outside PC9 we started getting some real fights from them at last and also had other interesting foes like NOTR who kept us on our toes! Things where going well with everything we needed and good fights to be had. I was surprised when this all happened so quickly!
TRS took this time in our great new area to restructure under the new leader and have a short break, at this point the corps apparently decided to go their own direction.
Rather then allowing it to linger the alliance was dissolved.
As suddenly and violently as TRS entered Syndicate it has left!
For now its a clean start for many and I hope to fly or swap ammo with you some time in the future!
I hope one day TRS will once again be reborn under new wings, I know for one that I for one will always remain a Red Skull in my heart.

Well... first of all Good luck to the now ex-TRS pilots we had some occassional fun with in PC9.
I have to say however that I can't allow the spin from TRS to stand un-challenged.
It played out like this:
HUZZAH moves to JQV from Y4Y to bring it to OSS/OI and then the Warmongers HUZZAH experiences difficulty integrating new (mainly US) corps TRS decides with their friends Controleld Chaos and The Covenant to move into PC9 while we're away HUZZAH makes drastic but needed cuts, more than halving total membership down to below 300 and returns to PC9 TRS asks HUZZAH for Blue standings HUZZAH rejects this offer, but offers temporary BLUE for them to move out peacefully TRS plays silly buggers telling every man and their dog that HUZZAH is beggin them for BLUE, and stalls for time to muster even more troops.
GAME ON.
Boredom, Smack and general dribble ensues for a few weeks - some of which spills over onto COAD in a pretty disgraceful display (which if we wer to be honest, we are partly to blame for for rising to the bait) Suffering under a poor Kill/Loss ratio (even though the KB efficiency is pretty even) TRS invites THORN to the festivities RedSkull/THORN and their allies dramatically outnumber HUZZAH n friends, and thing start to get more interesting 9they advertised that they had a 1500+ coalition around this time) HUZZAH War Decs TRS and then THORN in quick succession - despite being dramatically outnumbered TRS leadership begin to labour under the same errors that has caused many other alliances to fail: rapid, insufficiently screened growth, followed by whinging and whining, and internal crap-doodle Combined fleets finally are able to come to grips with each other, HUZZAH n friends win a number of victories The TRS boat starts leaking and the associated spin begins.
Final stats are generally available on the respective KBs
That is the version I saw and lived through.
You have their version, and now you have ours. At the end of it all it was good fun, and this post is not meant to flame, but to show the story from the other side. I think special mention in this conflict goes to JVR JVR and his alts who provided much fun n enjoyment and amusement while I was online.
To all the players from the Red/THORN coalition - good on you for giving it a go - no one wins by sitting on the sidelines. It was fun while it lasted.

Dude you got no idea what youÆre talking about, sorry. If you want some cold hard facts my coalition friend... TRS was doing just fine until you guys arrived. Only major engagements lead by Thorn turned to putty, and this is by no means intended as disrespect to those I speak of - I consider them friends; but this is simply fact.
The Red Skull didn't "fall" apart... it was by my decision disbanded to create a smaller, stronger alliance with a fresh face & outlook.
Thanks for your creative insight though.

Up to 2:1 at times? jeez we'd love to have that "problem." Sorry not really a CAOD topic and not trying to derail the thread or anything, but man, what I wouldn't give for someone to be willing to engage with only "up to 2:1, at times." (request #2, bring less falcons than we have total pilots plskthx). We'll generally engage anything closer to 2:1 than it is 3:1+, but at best we're still fighting >2:1 odds If we want to get a fight at all. Sign us up for some of that "up to 2:1, at times" please, if someone was willing to bring less than 2:1 against us who knows, they may even get a "gf" in local from us afterwards. -------------------------- NOTR How to Fail at Eve
