Did i miss some info on can flipping aggro changes in the newest patch? I flip a can, the previous owner flips it back and nothing happens! No blinky, no little red skull, nothing! I lock the pilot and i get the "dangerous act" warning. Anyone else run into this situation or have info on a change i may have missed?

They get flagged to you for taking your stuff. However, if they re-flip the can and you take out of it, then their whole corp gets aggro on you. |

I know how it works, I do it all the time. Its just that now when i flip someone's can and they flip it back, im not getting aggro. Like i said, they don't start flashing at all, and I'm unable to attack!

I would bet my entire corp's wallet, that this is entirely a case of you making a mistake. This is my favorite logical fallacy about gaming. The game is making the mistake, not I. The number of situations wherein this is actually the case is less than the amount of times WoW players have ever interacted amorously with a female. |

Mistake on my part, don't think so. I had to be sure so i had someone test it out for me. I flipped his can, he flipped it right back, and nothing. I was red and flashy to him, but when he reflipped, nothing, no flashy, nothing! I locked him and fired and lost my ship to concord. So no one else has had this problem? There are no new game mechanics that im not aware of inregards to this?

Immediately after the patch I took my Punisher out to test it (much loving the speed increase btw).
I stole from a wreck, guy shot me, I killed him.
Later I flipped a can, guy sent drones on me, I started popping drones, guy warped out :(
Dunno about them flipping the ore back does anything though. Should flag them, unless you flipped the ore into an unanchored secure container and they took it back from the secure container. Taking stuff out of the secure containers don't flag you (or them) AFAIK. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

No, been using the can agression timers and rules extensively since QR and found no changes, hickups or problems. |

Sorry to interupt but 1 thing i hate is can pirates..if you start winnin they will warp out, and killing newbs good way to make ppl quit and by newb i mean brand new player's to game, ok so it give's you the warnin so some ppl are stupid enough to steal, but if all these pirate's moved into low sec then us real pirate's would have so much more fun ;) flame on if you wish |

Well..there was this one timing glitch that existed, that if you flipped a can, and at about the same time their hauler yanked from the can. The stuff went from their can to yours, and then straight to their hold making them go all flashy.
This sounds like it could be a fix for that problem, which creates an interesting window for the miner to take his stuff back and not grab aggro..must test.... |

You're completely right. I've been noticing this as well. I flip a can, I go flashy to them. They flip it back and nothing, at least not immediately. If you wait a few minutes there's like a delayed reaction and then they go flashy. Usually long enough for them to take their **** back and escape unscathed. It's getting really lame. |

I'll take that bet
Then you would lose!
I just created a caldari miner, warped to Todaki planet 1 (newbie system) and dropped a can. I then warped in an older player and flipped the can. Experienced player went red flashy immediately to newb miner. Then I had newb miner steal the can back. Miner immediately went red flashy to experienced player.
I conclude from this that there are no new changes to can aggro. Whatever the OP saw was due to a mistake on his part. EVE remains the same, thankfully. |

Again, there was no mistake made. Its not that hard to flip a can. I have tried a few more times and I agree with Kross, it has been a delayed reaction. The reflipper has been able to go to warp before they turn flashy, and I have still experienced reflippers not turning red at all. If you set your overview properly local should indicate when someone has flipped your can. The flippers/reflippers haven't being showing up, so I guess I'll try both a petition and a bug report and see where that gets me. Thanks for the responses.

Are you sure he actually took it back? The person whom you are flashy to can blow up your can without giving you aggression rights.

Edited by: Tzar''rim on 22/11/2008 09:22:22 There HAS to be a mistake in this case, as said I've been doing my usual stuff and found NO irregularities whatsoever.

If someone attacks your can I'm pretty sure they get concorded.

Nope, however he ONLY gets agressed to the can owner IF that can owner was agressed to him first, NOT the can owner's corp.

Somone stole, the player went flashy to me but was not flashy to my corpmates. This has happened twice now to our corporation. Tea And Scones Please |

This seems to be an UI bug. The first time this happened, a corpmate was engaged when I landed on the belt, and the thief was not flashy to me (I even got a CONCORD dialog when trying to fire). Then he started flashing after a few more seconds and I was able to fire normally.

survival of the fittest. I've been playing a week and got flipped 3 times in the first 3 days and I was never stupid enough to try and take my **** back. I've wasted like 5m on bounties since then, cause I recorded the names of the guys who did it, but that's different.

Always refresh your overview and keep your warnings on for that reason...
I've had that happen before the QR patch, but it was rare... ruined my sec again so it's not worth me trying to test it ------------

Not too bright are you Dun? Please 0.0, low sec, real pilots, yah, whatever, says the 2 month old still in noob corp. Or is it real pilots who use alts to speak on forums now to brag about being a real pilot. Blobs and cynos, real skillful I'm sure, you think it beats the fun of taking on a pilot 1 vs 1 or even 1 vs a corp. Not every pilot in empire is a noob, but if you had any experience you might know that. Off topic, sorry, but the people who talk "can flipping is for noobs/ wanna be pirates" annoy the h*ll outta me.
