Edited by: Faife on 20/11/2008 06:32:44 so two chars in fleet. at time 0, chars 1 and 2 are next to each other, and both are next to wreck - char 1 now begins to MWD straight up. perma runs at 3000m/s let's say. - every 150km, char 2 warps to char 1. basically, the standard rolling safe spot.
now, i expected the wreck to fall off grid at standard grid distances, maybe 350, maybe 450, maybe 550 km. but it kept on and on. i actually kept this experiment going for, oh, just over 15 minutes () and during that whole time not only did the wreck stay on overview, but i'd be able to see people move by it, at furthest point 2800km away.
damn weird. apparently if you need to get off grid fast, don't roll your warps. wait for the inty to fall off first, then warp to them. --

I saw this happen during a fleet op as well.
Minmatar militia camping a gate. A couple of amarr intys warp in together a hundred kilometers off and then start doing roughly the same thing as you did, and the got farther and farther away as we camped. They never left the grid or overview for as long as we stayed at that gate, and they got to high 4-digits or low 5-digits km away from the gate.
I figured it was some weird game mechanic I'd never heard of because no one ever said a word about it... lol Regards,

There was a problem with ships / items being left on the overview @ one time perhaps it has reappeared.
The fix is to hit the tab key twice. IF the ship / item disappears then the old bug has shown back up. If not then we have something new.
NVM - if it was also showing up in space that is a new issue.

Edited by: Chaos Incarnate on 20/11/2008 17:03:16 Some of the grids are more oddly shaped than others, I was in a fleet op in 0.0 that took a group afk with most of us burning away from the gate or safespotting - came back and saw the two people who forgot to safespot and were sitting on the gate like 3400km off _____________________
