According to the Dev's, ships should not dissappear for 2 minutes if someone CTD's or logs off.
This isn't working properly, we have had TWO ships dissappear from space with 30 seconds in the last few days, despite having -6 or more warp scramble.
FIX THIS PLEASE!

Might I remind you: the 2 mins was BEFORE the warp-to-safe code was put in.
Maybe they removed it. It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!

How can you have any idea when the ship's disappearance timer started?
If you can set up your own situation where it is provably not working, then I will fix it. The ship removal timer has had a lot of testing at different periods of time and is working fine to my knowledge. This is a part of the game I observe working many times a day on my own servers in a variety of circumstances. -- Richard CCP Programmer. Anything said above is not the official line, but my own take or opinion. |

It is hard to tell when someones logged what with local lagging 5 yeers behind everything, they'll be long gone in space b4 local has a clue. But in my experience, this was b4 the previous 2 patches as since then pvp is unplayable for me, that ships lasted quite a while b4 vanishing. We've had a few kills from ppl who logged hoping they'd be safe, and a few misses from where we dont kill them in time b4 they do vanish. I cant confirm its 2 minutes, not like i was timing, but we were shooting a raven for ages unable to pop it b4 it vanished but it seemed like it was sitting there doing nothing for a long time.
As for testing the best thing is to ws a m8 and get him to log, then time it.

I've had this happen too, twice now. I'd have a pc rat webbed and scrambled and watch their picture leave local(logged off), after the ships destroyed the pod would simply vanish, not warp out, but vanish. And I *know* it only takes 10-20 seconds to pop a cruiser with a taranis.

How can you have any idea when the ship's disappearance timer started?
In both situations the craft jumped in to system. If we assume that the pilot is logging off INSTANTLY, I would personally put my mortgage on the fact that the pilot has then seen the ambush awaiting him and logged off. His ship has then uncloaked as it tries to warp away (as per the standard procedure). He then gets -6 of scramble on him, so doesn't go anywhere. We open fire and he dissappears within 30 seconds.
Would it be fair to say that this is within the standard dissappearing time CCP has set?
I will arrange to demonstrate this with one of my corp mates if you wish, lickspittle, and you can watch it yourself.
